Q: Can you set the temp. or is it just an on/off switch. Also, can the top be adjusted for the thickness of the sandwich.

A: The Cuisinart Panini Maker & Sandwich Press model GR-1 is a Panini and Sandwich Maker only so the temperature is preset to make Panini's. The top is not adjustable.

We ALL like it! - My family finds this one perfect. This Cuisinart Panini Maker makes up to two sandwiches at a time, and you can even grill some mushroom, peppers and asparagus in it prior to putting in the panini! I gave my first one to my college son, thinking I'd buy a bigger one, but ended up just getting another of the same. Good size for countertop, all the time. No complaints!
