This Deni Electric Pressure Cooker 9780 will shorten your cooking time up to 70%. The 8.5 quart electric pressure cooker has a built in thermostat and a fully programmable timer. The non-stick cooking pot is removable. The Deni pressure cooker’s condensation reservoir collects extra liquid. Cook on high or low pressure or slow cook, steam, brown, or simply keep warm. The Deni Electric Pressure Cooker has a brushed stainless steel housing and is easy to clean.

The Deni Electric Pressure Cooker has a locking pin to prevent the lid from being opened while under pressure. This pressure cooker has an automatic shut off when the pressure exceeds the max. You can cook healthy meals in less time than with convectional cooking methods when you cook with pressurized steam.

Q: Huh? Are you cutting and pasting a typo seen in other places? 1½" wide??? What is more relevant to me it what are the inside (cooking) dimensions? For example, will a 9" pie pan fit in the cooker?

A: Per Deni this Deni Pressure Cooker Model 9780 will not fit a 9" pie pan. The interior is not quite 9 inches wide. The outer width would be about 17" including the handles and about 14" tall including the lid and handle. The 1 1/2" width that you are seeing is referring to the approximate width of the walls of the pressure cooker.

Q: Does this electric pressure cooker fit 32 oz jars for canning?

A: This is a pressure cooker and is not intended for canning. The manufacturer does not know if 32 ounce jars will fit, but the pan is 6 inches tall. We do not recommend this pressure cooker for canning however.

Q: is this the one you can use with wood chips?

A: I have looked over the instuction/user manual and I'm not seeing any reference to using wood chips. You may wish to contact the manufacturer directly at 800-336-4822 to inquire about this.

Q: What are the measurements. Height and width.

I use mine all the time. - I make chicken - soup - pot roast - vegetables and anything else to shorten the time and still tastes good. I have had my Deni Electric Pressure Cooker for 3 years. It stopped working and the people at Deni replaced it with no problem. They are so nice at Deni, which is one reason I am writing this review.
