|
Q: Regarding the weight of this large canner: Do you fill it using other pots, place the jars using jar lifters, etc. rather than trying to lift it?
A: We would recommend that you fill the pressure cooker using a pitcher or other container. The pressure cooker itself weighs approximately 30 pounds. Please use caution and your own judgment.

Q: Can you use this canner to cook meals, roasts, soups and stocks?
A: The Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry Pressure Cooker/Canner is only intended for canning. The manufacturer does not recommend alternate uses.

Q: I have a conventional electric stove, however during our hot summers I prefer to take my canning outside I use a camp chef propane camp stove. Each burner produces 30 thousand btu's Is this an acceptable heat source... I watch the temp and pressure constantly....
A: Please contact Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry directly at 920-682-8627 for technical questions.

Q: Although you do not recommend cooking in it I have ONLY used it for ribs, 20+# turkeys, chicken, roasts and many other dinners. It has been the most used cookware in the last 5 years here. Easy to clean too. I have never been happier with any other kitchen toy.
A: Thank you for your feedback.

Q: My Brother gave me his Wisconsin Canner because I was canning a lot . He saw me using a seal type. I miss your canner, as someone removed it from my Hurricane damaged house. They left the seal type canner which I am still using. I am able to place 8wide mouth on the bottom & 8 more on top of the jars. Just finished canning 40 pints of carrots. Which model will do that and which model will do more?
A: If you load this image here http://www.everythingkitchens.com/images/products/popup/pressure-cooker-compare-popup.jpg it will show you the capacities for quart and pint jars for all of the Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry pressure cookers. I hope this helps!
