My gas powered beach blender is quieter than this thing. You need ear plugs if you buy one of these. My old blender is so quiet that the liquid sloshing is louder that the motor but God forbid this Back to Basics Blender. Buyer beware

This Back to Basics Smoothie Maker may be loud but it does the job that a blender can't....crush ice. Have had mine for 2 years and it hasn't failed me yet.

It's so loud it makes my toddler run away and cry, but it's a great product other wise.

Really enjoyed the smoothie maker and used a fair amount of time, but in both contianers that hold the smoothies cracked on the bottom and creates a mess on the cupboard. Bottom does not screw off so be sure to rinse immediately after each use to prevent the smell of sore milk. Can't seem to find a replacement as the rest of the product is in great condition.
