Got this Breville Espresso Machine for a wedding present and my wife and I love it. We've used it for about a month and make latte's for each of us every morning. I've also hosted two coffee nights with lots of friends, I've made 8 drinks back to back, and with only having to refill the machine with water once. It froths the milk wonderfully, even without the commercial frother, nice and hot every time.
For the person that said they cannot get good creme, I don't know what you are trying to brew, but it's obviously not a espresso roast, even using starbucks coffee this machine brews better shots than in the store. Maybe you're not measuring the shots right? .75 ounces a shot

Breville Espresso Machine - |

I purchased a Breville model 800ESXL, and the product failed after two years due to a faulty switch. I sent the Espresso Machine to a Breville recommended repair site and have not had a response on my espresso machine for 6 months. Contacting Breville has not helped. I believe that this product is over rated for the percieved value that I expected.

Not worth the trouble - |

I love my espresso and have been using a stove top espresso maker the last two years. I was so excited to finally get my Breville. It looks great and seems to be a good quality espresso machine, however, I am so disappointed with it. No matter how hard I tamp the coffee, grind the coffee, change the amt. of the coffee, the water just runs thru it giving me a watery result. I have used other Espresso machines at friends homes and I know there are espresso machines out there that will make a good shot of espresso without taking a masters degree in how to pack in the coffee. It is impossible to get two shots from the same brew. Also, the reservoir and catch tray has to be refilled almost every time you make coffee. I have had the espresso machine for 1 month and it is being returned.

Very Nice Espresso Machine - |

I have a Krups 4030 (I believe) and I bragged about how great the coffee was. When I bought the Breville Espresso Maker, I loved the appearance but during the break-in period I thought I had made a mistake. The espresso was 'watery' and the creme was minimal. However, after 1 month and tamping the grounds more firmly, the creme is fantastic and the taste rivals the Krups.
If you want a very basic and affordable Great espresso machine, get the Krups. If you want LOOKS and a Great espresso machine, this one is good too.
Here were some of the improvements: Nice Stainless steel appearance including the end of the handle being Stainless. Lighted water level indicator. Larger water reservoir. Both had heated cup warmers, the Breville had the larger of the two.
Allow the Breville Espresso Machine to break in and you will be happy.
