Q: Can the non-stick plates be removed for clean up?

A: No, they are not removable. To clean the Breville Panini Press the instruction manual states: Wipe cooking plates with a soft cloth. If cooked on food is not removed by this method, reheat the unit for 1-2 minutes, then brush with a little oil or melted butter. Allow to stand for five minutes then wipe with a damp cloth.

Breville Panini Press - Useless appliance. can only handle one sandwich. Small stovetop griddle makes a better sandwich and use a cover or press for a panini. Difficult to clean. Must wait for it to cool before cleaning. If you are not careful it is very easy to burn yourself with this.
