The Breville ikon Hemisphere Blender features a Bowl/Blade System for 100% efficient blending. The control pad of this Breville Blender is designed without crevices for easy cleaning and gives you precise control over the 610 watt motor's 5 speed settings (mix, chop, blend, liquefy and puree) and pulse function. The Breville Hemisphere Blender Bowl/Blade System utilizes a large, semicircular shredding blade positioned to hug the uniquely shaped bowl. The consistent clearance between the blades and the bowl shreds ingredients into fine, consistent particles. The 54 ounce (1.6 liter) engineering grade borosilicate glass jar is designed for optimal clarity and to resist scratching, chipping and fogginess. The dual tone, baked enamel measurements in both metric and empirical volumes provide for sharp viewing and accurate measurement. The jar features 1/4 turn blade removal for thorough and effortless cleaning of the jar and Hemisphere Bowl/Blade System. All jar and blade parts are dishwasher safe. The Bowl/Blade System easily locks into place and seals for leak-free performance.

Don't buy this blender... - We used this blender two or three times weekly for roughly 1year after which the bearings in the base/blade assembly failed. We requested warranty parts from Breville Canada and they declined support. This unit is built in China and of poor quality materials.

Gasket leaks - The gasket began leaking right out of the box, no matter how I tried to seat it. Search on the Internet show an overwhelming list of complaints about this very same design flaw. Not sure what to do at this point because as with other documented complaints, looks like an exchange will result with the sam problem.

ours leaks too - We love the blending performance, but like other reviewers have said ours leaks and drips smelly black liquid out the bottom of the pitcher after every use. It's done so for most of the time we've owned it. It is also hard to disassemble and clean, and the silicone seam between the glass and the metal on the pitcher gets filthy and those parts do not come apart for thorough cleaning.
