A FANTASTIC Multi-Tasker that's worth the money - |

I hesitated to spend over $100 on a roaster because I only used my old one once or twice a year, but this roaster has so many practical benifits that I've used it often for many things; I LOVE this roaster!! MOST roasters aren't deep enough for turkeys if we prefer to cook them with the lid on, but this is deep enough for a 16.5 lb turkey placed ON TOP OF THE STEAMER RACK, it covers at least a 19 lb turkey without using the rack and probably a 25 lb turkey without the lid on. This is a set-up for baking fish steaming long crab legs on the stove top. I like the fact that I can put broth in the bottom, turn on the front and back burners under it to get a good jump-start on heating up the turkey or roast before putting it in the oven (to save time and gas, but ONLY a roaster this long AND with offset handles will allow this advantage). Placing it over just one burner is handy for making the gravy rue then turning it lengthwise over two burner with the broth added is SO quick. I've used the deep and shallow parts seperately for meat and a side dish but the lid keeps the meat hot while it 'rests' to allow the juices to redistribute. The lid also makes a beautiful, contemporary-looking serving tray that's large enough to hold your bird or roast AND ALSO hold the stuffing or rolls at the ends for one or two less dishes cluttering the table. I even use this for casseroles and when a lot of cheese sauce baked onto the sides it only took a few minutes of soaking before it washed off and was as pretty as new. To wrap this up, I'll definitely be getting my money's worth out of this; I love it.
