Q: We love this kettle. How do you clean it? Any product we should use? Thanks!
A: CLEANING
• Always unplug cord of power base before cleaning.
• Make sure kettle is cold.
• Clean the exterior surface with a clean, damp, soft cloth.
• Never use abrasive cleaners or scouring agents.
• Rinse out kettle and wipe dry with a soft, lint-free cloth.
Attention:
• Over time the stainless steel cover of the heating element inside the bottom
of the kettle may change color slightly. This is caused by the intense heat of
the heating element.
• If your water has a high iron content brownish stains may appear on the
stainless steel element (this is also known as "boiler scale"). These stains can
be wiped away with a cloth and a mild abrasive. Rinse kettle thoroughly with
fresh water.
DECALCIFICATION
Hard water can leave calcium spots inside the kettle. Use a commercial
descaling agent and follow the instructions that come with the agent.
NOTE: Make sure kettle is cold.
Use of Vinegar
You can also use white vinegar to descale the inside. Fill the kettle with 2 cups
of water (16 oz) and add 6 tablespoons of white vinegar. Bring to a boil.
Discard the solution and repeat if necessary. Rinse the kettle once or twice with
fresh cold water.
Use of DURGOL
Capresso and many European companies recommend "DURGOL" liquid decalcifying
agent. It removes calcium deposits up to 20 times faster than vinegar.
Diluted DURGOL can also be used for coffee makers, steam irons (cold only!)
and for many other needs in your household.
• Pour a cap-full of DURGOL over the round stainless steel cover. It will
dissolve any stains. Rinse thoroughly with fresh cold water. Repeat once or
twice if necessary. Do not heat the kettle!

 LOVE my Capresso Water Kettle!!!! -
I have the Capresso Water Kettle, and love it. It is beautiful in use and not. Brings it to a rolling boil very quickly. Am going to get one as a gift for my daughter-in-law! As well as buy a 2nd one for another floor in my house!

so pretty, so easy to use -
The microwave is no match for this hot water kettle. The tap water temp. where I live varies a lot with the season of the year, so I could rarely gauge the time in the microwave oven for a mug of water for tea to a perfect boil (it was either beyond the boiling point or lukewarm and the teabag wouldn't activate.).Also, this design is a modern art piece, complete with a water feature.It has an auto shut off for safety, I once had a tea kettle start to melt because I forgot it and took a shower, no whistle, and I wouldn't have heard it anyway.Do you want to increase your fluids to stay hydrated? Tea is good for you. This sits on the counter, beckoning you to use it. Keep out of reach of children.

 Lovely Water Kettle, but..... -
Bought this kettle 3 months ago and loved it's beauty sitting on my counter and it's rapid boiling action. However, it had a nasty chemical odor to it while heating and made the water taste "off". I tried tempering it by boiling baking soda in it a few times but the odor never dissipated. With sadness, I ended up returning it as the more I smelled it, the more it bothered me. Too bad, as it is beautiful and efficient.

I like this kettle very much. I have had it several years. I prefer glass over metal, and I can see what is going on inside. When this one wears out I will get another just like it.

A few weeks after the kettle was in use, I noticed the "chrome" material on the lid and around the handle cracked and pieces flaked off leaving white plastic material exposed on the lid. This defect detracts from an otherwise lovely kettle.

 It is a Great Water Kettle, but... -
It has a year warranty.A year and a month after we purchased the kettle it quit heating the water. Otherwise, I liked it very much especially because it was glass and no water was in contact with plastic.

Capresso teakettle -
I love the efficiency of my Capresso tea kettle. I use it to heat water for oatmeal as well as for tea. I have bought them as gifts and have one in a summer home as well. It is great for heating water fast to warm baby bottles in ( of course I pour it hot into another vessel and then put the bottle in to warm a few minutes)
Mine looks as good as new after a couple years of use. My only wish is that the price would come down on them a bit.
