    • No, they can not be cooked without water, directly in the pan, as it is intended for water only. However, the eggs can be poached in the poacher that comes with it.

    • How many eggs can you poach at one time. Does it signal when done?
    • You choose how you want your eggs, then it lets you know when they are done. You can poach 3 eggs, or hard boil 7 eggs at a time. This egg cooker has dry boil protection as well.

    • I am confused as to how to cook hard-boiled eggs. I lost the instructions. How much water do I use for 7 eggs? Do I turn the item on first and wait for a buzz before I put the eggs in? Do I use the numerical timer or just the H? Do I have to use an additional timer or does it automatically turn off when the eggs are cooked? Water does leak out onto the counter and it is dangerous to lift the lid due to steam pouring out. Please help. Thank you.

    • Can you only poach 3 eggs at a time? How does this compare to the Cuisinart?
    • Yes, you can only poach 3 eggs at a time in the 810 Chef's Choice Egg Cooker, though you can hard boil 7. The Cuisinart allows you to hard boil 10, poach 4, by comparison.

    • What temperature water do you put into the egg cooker? I want soft cooked eggs and they come out medium on the soft setting. I put warm water in so the cooker will heat up easier.
    • Start with cold water, fill just below the water line, set to soft, and see if that helps. If that doesn't work, call the manufacturer at 1-800-342-3255.

Easy egg cooker Review by

The cooker does everything it is billed to do and is an easy appliance to use. The problem with the one I have is, it doesn't sit level. Even then, I wouldn't trade it for the old ways of cooking eggs. (Posted on 5/19/11)

This is Great! Review by

I love this egg cooker. I had a microwave one that exploded eggs everywhere after a few weeks use. This Chef's Choice one works easily, the timer is accurate, and the eggs are easy to peel! (Posted on 5/18/11)

Great Egg Cooker Review by

Eggs are a breeze to peel using this egg steamer. I never thought it could be so easy. The hard boiled eggs are a little oddly shaped at the bigger end when used for deviled eggs...but I won't trade this egg cooker for having to boil eggs in water again. Very fast shipment, also. This was my first order from this website...I'll be back. (Posted on 8/10/08)

What an appliance Review by

If this egg cooker isn't the best thing since sliced bread, I don't know what is! Put water in the bottom tray, load the rack with however many eggs you want, put the lid on, set the degree of doneness (from poached to hard-boiled), turn it on, and walk away. The thing dings when the eggs are cooked, and they are perfect! A painless way to cook poached and soft-boiled eggs. If you want hard boiled, it's the same thing, and you can put the rack directly in the sink or the refrigerator until you're ready for them. And the eggs don't crack, either, as they frequently do in a pot. What a deal! One of the best Christmas presents I ever received! (Posted on 1/7/08)
