Stylish Pan! Very Pleased! - |

I was looking specifically for a STAINLESS STEEL Electric Skillet (not the coated kind that always chip away in your food), and also one deep enough for boiling pasta - all so I could save money cooking at home/not eating out, and NOT cook on a gas range (because I'm uncomfortable around open fires from a previous burn accident.) I did LOADS of research on line and came across the CucinaPro. The stylish design of the pan cought my eye at first (SO much prettier than MANY out there), and then I was DOUBLY pleased to find out it was made of stainless steel on top of that. The cost was a little higher than what I was planning to pay for a SS pan, but, after comparing the features and prices with other brands, and pricing of other vendors, EverythingKitchens had the the best deal so far, so I went for it. I used it for the first time today, and was VERY pleased with its performance! I boiled rotini pasta, then heated tomato sauce and meatballs for a delicious meal. This 12" pan was gracious plenty to make a meal for 4 people EASILY which eased my mind about wodering if I should have gotten the 16". It heated quickly, and at only around 200 degrees was boiling pasta right away. The only 2 modifications I'd make to its design are these: 1) move the plug outlet on the pan to the back of the pan. It's situated just underneath one of the handles and this prevents you from USING the handle cause it blocks the hole, and 2) I'd put a pointer on the heating dial so you know which way is on or off - it's hard to tell without it, so I just had to wait til I had the pan on and see how it heated up. (the active setting of the dial, BTW, aligns with the orange light on the plug, and you turn it to the Right to increase the heat.) Other than that, it cleaned easily, wasn't too heavy to lift, and performed nicely. Oh...a few other features that's nice about it is within the three feet at the base, they have some "give" to them when you press down on the pan.. a sponginess response to pressure which, I think, prevents slipping of the pan (which it wouldn't do anyway, since the feet have a "grippiness" to them). Also, I chose this pan over Presto's SS elec skillet because it sat lower to the counter than Presto's (which has 3 tall "legs" to it). I figured CucinaPro's was much safer for that as it would be a lot less likely to catch your hand or a cooking utinsil or anything else on the legs as you're moving about cooking. I love this pan and will use it often! Thanks CucinaPro AND Everything Kitchens for quality, style, and price! Very happy!
