A: This Cuisinart Coffee Maker uses 2 charcoal filters. They both go into the water reservoirs, one for the coffee side and one for the hot water side.

 Love this coffee maker -
I purchased this coffee maker because my husband drinks coffee and I drink tea. We use to have two "coffee" makers on the counter; one for coffee and one for hot water for tea. (and dont mix them up!) This coffee maker saves us space on the counter and my water does not taste like coffee! The water side is quick to heat up and stays hot. It hold plenty of water for at least large cups of tea. Love the hot water for instant oatmeal too! We have had it for over a year and would not trade it for anything.
