Cuisinart 7 Quart Mixing Bowl

KitchenAid Mixer - 6 Quart Pro 600

Cuisinart Mixer - 7 Quart Mixer in Black - Details:
Cuisinart 7 Qt. Mixer in Black Overview
The SM-70BK Cuisinart Mixer is packed full of features that allow this mixer to perform multiple tasks and even replace some of your other kitchen appliances. This Cuisinart mixer has a 7 quart capacity and 1000 watts of power which allows this mixer to power through even your toughest mixing tasks. This mixer has 12 different speeds which allows the mixer to be precisely controlled for specific mixing tasks, like whipping meringue or folding candy into a batch of cookies.
The mixer distributes the power through 3 different power outlets. Cuisinart designed these outlets to power the many attachments that are available for this 7 quart mixer. The attachments that Cuisinart has made available for this mixer allow the user to create almost anything from scratch. You can create homemade pastas, ream fresh juice from your favorite citrus, make a fresh ground meat, even blend, shred, or slice vegetables.
A 15 minute timer has been built into the mixer with an auto shut off feature. Cuisinart added this features so you can set the timer, add your ingredients and start working on something else. The 15 minute timer holds a specific speed and really allows you to make the most of your time in the kitchen. No more watching and waiting while making a batch of cookies or bread. The high wattage motor has been specifically designed to be the best in the industry, and with over 1000 watts it has blown away the competition. The mixer shares many design features with the WaringCommercial 7 quart mixer, such as the motor, transmission and attachment hubs. With commercial features on your Cuisinart mixer you know it is built to handle large batches and last.

The Bottom Line on the SM-70BK Cuisinart Stand Mixer in Black
For general mixing tasks the Cuisinart is among the best stand mixers available. If your general mixing tasks consist of large batches of cookies, cakes, quick breads, and other light to thick batters then this is your mixer. If you mix a lot of thick dough such as pizza or bread then we would suggest the Bosch Universal Plus mixer over the Cuisinart mixer. This mixer is the largest that Cuisinart offers at 7 quarts, if you require a smaller mixer then I suggest the SM-55 5.5 qt stand mixer with the 800 watt motor.

Customer Questions:

Q: Will this Cuisinart mixer actually mix 7 quarts of food? Or is that actual bowl capacity filled to the top?
A: All manufacturers measure the capacity of appliances as for the amount of liquid they will hold filled to the top. This is not a measure of how much food you can mix in real life. This Cuisinart mixer will mix probably about 5 quarts or so realistically so as to not splash over the top of the bowl with each and every turn, and less if it is something very difficult to mix (whole wheat bread dough for instance).

Q: What country is this made in?
A: The Cuisinart Stand Mixers are manufactured in China.

It is a good mixer - it is a good mixer.i use it daily bec i bake a lot, i like to do all home made. only thing i don't like is it is making too much noise. sometime i get scared that my neighbor wont complain about it. I am using this 5.5 quart mixer for more than one year

Cuisinart 7 qt Stand Mixer - I absolutely love this Cuisinart stand mixer. I received the Kitchen Aide 5 qt stand mixer last year and was so unhappy with it that I returned it. I had to keep stopping it and cleaning the sides of the bowl but with the Cuisinart Mixer I never have to stop it to do that. This is the best mixer and I highly recommend it over the Kitchen Aide mixer. I also recommend the 7 qt. Cuisinart Mixer as it is really deep and big enough to hold a big recipe of cookie dough without splattering all over the place. Also it comes with the pour spout and with the Kitchen Aide it's an additional cost.

Cuisinart Mixer - Bought this for my wife after years of looking for a good mixer. This is the best mixer ever.

Highly recommend the Cuisinart Mixer - The Cuisinart stand mixer is awesome! I received mine for Christmas and have made noodles, ground meat, made bread and sweet bread, mashed potatoes, whisked eggs...the list goes on. For the noodles and meat, I did purchase attachments separately. I was amazed at how effortlessly the meat ground and the fresh taste was fantastic! When making the breads, well, the Cuisinart Mixer couldn't make it any easier unless it cooked it itself. This Cuisinart stand mixer comes with a whisk, paddle, and dough hook. The style is great. There is plenty of power to get whatever you need done without hesitancy. Highly Recommend!!!

Noisy and Not Long Running - I was rather disappointed with this Cuisinart mixer as it is very noisy and hard to talk over when running in my kitchen. Also when run for any length of time, the thing would just shut off well before the timer. It would restart after a while, but what a pain. For the money, a KitchenAid is is much better buy.

Wow! - I got the 7 quart Cuisinart just before Thanksgiving, and wow - what a difference this made for baking! Within a week I made a quadrupled recipe for a sweet, heavy bread dough and this machine had no problem. I also used it for a quadruple batch of pie dough (came out quite flaky and light), a triple batch of challah bread, a double batch of banana bread, and mixing the ingredients for a meat loaf. I found the motor to be quite sufficient for my needs. The mixer is also quite easy to clean. The one thing that i do recommend is to also purchase the BeaterBlade that essentially has a build in spatula. I found that to be such an awesome time saver. The flat mixing paddle that comes with the machine is good, but the BeaterBlade is better! I spent a year saving up for a new stand mixer. I am thrilled with my choice.

Cuisinart 7 Qt Stand Mixer - I received my Cuisinart Stand Mixer for my birthday. I really love it. I make lots of cookies each week, and this makes it a lot easier for me because of the large bowl. I can double the recipes easily. I've have 3 other stand mixers from Kitchen Aid and they don't hold a candle to my Cuisinart stand mixer.

Mr Richard Woodard - This is a powerful mixer and works great. I like all the features. Like being able to mix and stop and the ability to program the time.

Not quite what I expected, but am overall happy. - I like this Cuisinart mixer, the size bowl, it's light weight, but it isn't as "muscle-tough" as I thought it would be. I make bread in it (five loaves at a time) and while kneading the motor will sometimes stop, evidently because it is being pushed too hard. This is a safety feature however, and therefore the motor should not overheat. I thought that with 1,000 watts it would be a real work horse, but that did not prove to be the case. I had the original Kitchen Aid mixer for 25 years that worked and never got tired. The motor would get hot, though, so I'd have to feel the top of it while it was kneading dough so I could stop it manually and let it rest when it got too warm. It is still kicking like a faithful friend in my daughter's kitchen now. When I replaced it I decided to go for the Cuisinart instead of another Kitchen Aid because reports abounded that the newer model of the Kitchen Aid is not like the old one. I'm happy with my decision, because overall, I really like my Cuisinart mixer. I've been using it fairly regularly in the kitchen for a good year now and it has shown itself to be another "good friend" in the kitchen. I use the blender attachment often enough and like the ease of that, too. It does a fair job of making bread crumbs, which is a true test of ability! The grinder attachment, what can I say? It is WONDERFUL! I use it primarily to make applesauce and grind meats. For the price I think this Cuisinart mixer is a very good deal. We shopped all over the internet for the best buy and found that "Everything Kitchens" couldn't be beat for the price, either. Best wishes to you while you shop around for a good buy on a stand mixer. If you decide to go with this particular Cuisinart I really don't think you will be too disappointed. It is a good product at a fair price for what you get. Oh, one more thing, the pour spout, it is a bit of a pain using when adding ingredients through it into the bowl while mixing. It would be greatly improved if it were a little more roomy to add ingredients. The old Kitchen Aid had a better design, but once again, that is probably pretty minor.

Power? - With a 1000 watts, I had expected that this Cuisinart mixer would be able to knead more than one loaf of bread at a time, but it strains when trying to knead more than one loaf at a time. Otherwise, It is an OK mixer, and still better than a Kitchenaid.

Cuisinart 7 qt Stand Mixer - I LOVE my mixer and would recommend it to anyone!!

Not All That - This Cuisinart Mixer is awkward to use. Actual capacity falls way short of what is listed. We also have a large Kitchenaid mixer and it is more user friendly.

SM-70 - I have used my new Cuisinart 7 Quart Mixer several times. I have made Crusty French Bread, Parmesan Knots, Chocolate Cupcakes, and Meringue, and they all came out very well. I am very pleased with my new mixer's performance. I was pleasantly surprised how it kneaded the large amount of dough when making the Crusty French Bread.

Don't buy any other mixer. - I had no idea cuisinart made a mixer and found it on this site. The quality of the paddle, whisk, and hook of the Cuisinart Mixer is so much better than the Kitchen Aid brand. The 1000 watts beats by far anything else I have been able to find. I have used this Cuisinart mixer daily since I bought it and all attachments on Thanksgiving, making pies, pasta, juice, mash potatoes (whisk works great!), and multiple bread, roll, and cookie recipes. What a great product.

Cuisinart 7 quart Mixer - I ordered this product because I do a lot of baking. It is the best mixer I have ever owned. I actually burned out my hand mixer making royal icing but this mixer just zipped right through it. I love that I can set the timer and that I don't have to cover it when there is a lot of powder in the mix because it has the shield on top. This is a GREAT product. Looking forward to getting all the attachments.

Cuisinart 7 Qt Mixer - My mixer works like a dream. I made cinnamon buns and a double batch of chocolate chip cookies and it plowed right through both without the motor dying down. I will never go back to Kitchenaid.

Awesome Mixer - I bought this mixer for my daughter as a grad present from Culinary School. She says it is the mixer that they used in the school as well as where she found employment. She loves this Cuisinart mixer and highly recommends it. Only complaint is if you only need to mix a small amount of dressing or such, it is too big a machine, but for larger amounts it's great.

Cuisinart 7 qt. Stand Mixer - I love my 7 qt. mixer. I had a 5 qt. Kitchen Aid mixer and it couldn't handle my big batches of frosting. I could only make two batches at once and it taxed the motor. With my Cuisinart 7 qt. Mixer I can make three batches at once and it doesn't even heat up. The only problem for me is the large bowl is rather un wieldy, I could use a handle that goes down the side to give me a Little more control. I even make my cookie doughs in this mixer and it is no problem.

7 quart , 1000 watt Cuisinart mixer. - A great mixer. I'd recommend it to anyone, even professionals.

Kfin - I love this Mixer. I can make double batches of dough, mix meringue without spatters, whip potatoes without a mess. I have had Kitchen aid and frankly it does not compare to this mixer! The only thing I don't care for is the food processor attachment, as it is noisy. I prefer to use our regular cuisinart processor over this. Cuisinart you have outdone yourself on this mixer!

Rating of Everything Kitchen - This company is equally as good as the Cuisinart mixer. They had the best price online. They have plenty of information to allow me to comparison shop. They communicated promptly. They shipped immediately. What more could a consumer want from a company.

Cuisinart 7 qt Stand Mixer December 5,2010 - I am a great fan of the Cooks Illustrated Magazine where this stand mixer is highly rated over the Kitchen Aide models. I now understand the reason why. I love to bake, and this Cuisinart mixer makes it an absolute joy. Before purchasing this Cuisinart stand mixer I checked numerous other websites and was so pleased to find the 7qt Cuisinart at such a great price. I was also surprised to receive it so quickly in the mail right at my door.

Cuisinart: The best mixer - We have owned Kitchen Aid for many years. Our daughter's KitchenAid Mixer died after 4 years and we purchased the bigger one as a gift for her. Its clear the company (KitchenAid) is no where what it was. The product looks good, but that is where it ends. It's the noisiest machine, probably on the market, and it cannot handle a bread dough. The dough hook even says the motor should not/not be run at a speed higher than 2 out of 10 speeds. We returned it and purchased this Cuisinart Mixer and are very happy with it.

I could not be happier! - I owned a Kitchen Aid and needed to buy a replacement. I had heard about the Cuisinart Stand Mixer (I didn't even know they made one)! After a lot of research it always seemed to be the most recommended. Well, after having it for a month now I can't believe I ever doubted this purchase! I absolutely love the time function! I make a lot of icing for cakes and the splash cover is a life saver from the powdered sugar poof! The deep bowl is a better shape than the wider version generally found. I could go on and on about this product! I love it!

Cookie Dough Powerhouse - I have had this Cuisinart 7 qt. stand mixer for over a year and a half and make about 24 dozen cookies once each month. I also have a Kitchen Aid Pro mixer which I have had for 10 years and now it sits on the shelf gathering dust. My Kitchen Aid has always been incredibly noisy and so I was amazed at how quiet I found the Cuisinart mixer. I also used to only be able to just mix the butter, sugar, eggs and flour for a 6 dozen batch of my oatmeal chocolate chip cookies with the Kitchen Aid. If I tried to add the oatmeal and chocolate chips, it really struggled and I was afraid the motor was going to burn out. It really slowed down my production time for 24 dozen cookies to have to mix these ingredients in by hand! My Cuisinart mixer handles the oatmeal and chocolate chips without even a whimper and I can speed through the 4 batches of dough in no time! I absolutely love this Cuisinart machine!
