When I decided to buy a real food processor, I purchased the Cuisinart DLC-X Food Processor, the same basic food processor as the DLC-XP sold now. It was quite expensive then, but I have never regretted it. It holds a gallon in the food processor bowl; I'm on my second bowl in twenty years, mainly because my old one just had a lot of scratches. Unlike cheaper Food Processors, this Cuisinart model has a stainless shaft coming directly off the motor. There is a huge feed tube, making feeding ingredients easy. The bowl is so large that it's also very easy to clean along with the lid. I have easily kneaded 3 loaves of bread dough at a time. Remember, you can always use less than its capacity. I can make family-sized salads in a heartbeat. I use the Cuisinart method where I do the ingredients in order and save post-processing mixing. I have the complete accessory disc set, but actually the ones included are quite sufficient. This Cuisinart Food Processor will be the last one bought for the lucky purchaser. Even after 20 years, Food Processors have not advanced any further. In addition, I much prefer the classic Cuisinart paddles to electronic buttons that can break down. The paddles are protected from any splashes or accidents, being recessed under the front. This Cuisinart Food Processor is quite heavy, not being made to stow away daily. Leave it on the counter where it can be used daily instead!
