The Cuisinart DTC-975BKN is a redesign of the original 12 cup thermal coffee maker! This coffee maker is a classic that performs for cup after cup. This machine has stainless steel accents along with the stainless thermal carafe making it a look as good as it performs. The thermal carafe is double wall insulated and features a special lid that keeps air out providing excellent heat retention. This unit can be programmed to start the brewing process anytime you want and it will let you know when brewing is done with a beep! The advantages of a thermal carafe are the flavor preservation and the lower energy consumption with the removal of the heating element. Since the DTC-975 does not have a heating element the coffee will not stay hot as long and this is the only disadvantage to the thermal design.
