Cuisinart 10-Cup Thermal Coffee Maker Overview Avoid that burnt coffee taste for good! The 10 cup Thermal coffeemaker from Cuisinart does not have a warming plate. With the warming plate out of the picture the coffee is only initially heated during brewing. Cuisinart has designed these coffee makers this way so that the warming plate cannot overheat the coffee which can cause that burnt taste. This unit shares the same design as the DCC-1100, replacing the glass 12 cup carafe with a 10 cup thermal piece, and removing the warming plate. The thermal carafe is double wall insulated which allows it to keep coffee hot for hours. Since these two units share a design many of the features carry over. This maker has the same programming abilities, 1-4 cup function, charcoal water filter, and the gold cone coffee filter as well.

Customer Questions:
|
Q: Does this coffeemaker have the annoying audible "coffee ready" signal that some other Cuisinart coffee makers have? If so, can it be disabled
A: Yes, the DCC-1150 has a Ready Tone that signals the end of the brew cycle
with five beeps.
|
|
Q: Is this coffee pot dishwasher safe? I put it in the dishwasher and it now has a mark on the carafe that is unsightly. What should I do?
A: Here is what the manufacturer recommends. Remove the carafe from the resting plate.
Discard any remaining coffee. The carafe and lid
can be washed in warm, soapy water and rinsed
thoroughly, or placed in a dishwasher. The
carafe and carafe lid should be placed on the
upper rack only. Blemishes on the stainless steel
can be washed off with soap and water or a
nonabrasive cleaning solution.

Q: How do I register my Cuisinart Thermal Coffee Maker? Model #DCC-1150 Cuisinart Coffee Maker. SN 10309
A: Cuisinart does not require registering for warranty. They simply ask that you keep your original Sales Receipt with your owner's manual to prove proof of date of purchase. You may also contact Cuisinart directly at 800-726-0190.

Q: Is there a mechanism that tells you how many cups of coffee are left in the thermal carafe? I was originally looking for the WHITE programmable
coffee pot with the GLASS carafe. Not only could I instantly see how much coffee is left, but could also use it when filling it with water, so as to
put in the correct amount of water. I am having difficulty finding what i originally thought i wanted. H-E-L-P
A: No, this unit does not have an indicator or a way to see how much coffee remains in the carafe. You might look at the DCC-1100 which is a very similar unit, available in white, and has a glass carafe. You can view this at: http://www.everythingkitchens.com/Cuisinart_DCC-1100.html

To Another Ron in Texas -
When we purchased this Cuisinart coffee pot, we discovered the same issue. What solved it was the lid on the pot itself had to be perfectly secured when the pot started brewing. After we made sure that happened, it never leaked again. It has been an awesome coffee pot ever since!

Dollie, coffee lover in Utah -
I've had my Cuisinart thermal coffee maker for 8 years and it recently broke down. The tube inside split and leaked water. It has served me very well in all this time and it looks nice on my counter. I am ordering another one today! I have recommended this coffee maker to all my friends and family.

Jim in NH (again) -
After talking with Cuisinart a second time, they acknowledged that the DCC-1150 probably had a defective micro processor and are replacing it and waiving all of the replacement shipping charges. Hopefully the replacement unit will give me the service I have learned to expect from Cuisinart. So I give 5 stars for the service I received from Everything Kitchens and Cuisinart.

Another Ron in Texas... -
We purchased this unit about three months ago and it worked fine for about two months when it started leaking coffee all over the countertop. It seemed to do this about once a week at first and then it was every time we used it. We tried giving it a good cleaning several times but it still leaked. I was very disappointed because it had worked so well when it was new. What a wasted $80!

Jim from NH -
We bought this 10 cup thermal Cuisinart coffee maker from Everything Kitchens in Feb. '11. One month later it started shutting off and had to be unplugged for 30 minutes before you could start it again. Called Cuisinart and was told there was probably calcium buildup (after only about 20 uses!!!) and it needed to be de-calcified. Never had to do that before to any coffee maker! Cuisinart said it should be de-calcified every 30 to 60 uses. Also, the coffee pot is designed so you can't pour the last ounce or so of coffee out of it without it coming out the cover vent. Very disappointed with this product. Everything Kitchens' service was excellent.

Ron from Texas -
We really enjoy this Cuisinart Coffee Maker, we use it everyday and have had zero problems. The only awkward thing is filling the coffee maker, but a small price to pay for a Coffee maker as easy to use as this one. And it make great coffee also.
