When we purchased this Cuisinart coffee pot, we discovered the same issue. What solved it was the lid on the pot itself had to be perfectly secured when the pot started brewing. After we made sure that happened, it never leaked again. It has been an awesome coffee pot ever since!

We purchased this unit about three months ago and it worked fine for about two months when it started leaking coffee all over the countertop. It seemed to do this about once a week at first and then it was every time we used it. We tried giving it a good cleaning several times but it still leaked. I was very disappointed because it had worked so well when it was new. What a wasted $80!

We really enjoy this Cuisinart Coffee Maker, we use it everyday and have had zero problems. The only awkard thing is filling the coffee maker, but a small price to pay for a Coffee maker as easy to use as this one. And it make great coffee also.
