The included timer on the side of the unit marks time as to when yogurt will be finished cooking. The Yogurt Maker’s kit includes a stainless steel thermometer, a specially designed cotton bag for making cheese and an individual serving bowl. Note: The base includes numbers from 1-12 on the side of it and the lid includes an arrow to point to the time that the unit should be shut off by the user. This is just a reminder, it is not a true timer. For example, if you start a yogurt cycle at 1pm, and it should take 8 hours, then you would align the arrow on the lid to the "9" to remind you that you should shut the yogurt maker off. The unit does not include a traditional count down or auto-shutoff timer.
