Family Grain Mill or Flaker Mill with KitchenAid Adaptor

Q: Does the family flaker mill make "rolled oats" like our favorite Quaker old fashioned oatmeal? Also, is there a mill that can attach to a kitchen aid that can make "steel cut oats" or sometimes called "pinhead oats"?

A: The Family Flaker Mill does make rolled oats. I am not familiar with a mill that attaches to the Kitchen Aid Mixer that will make steel cut oats.

Q: Does the Family Grain Mill attachment for my KitchenAid grind almonds into fine flour?

A: No, the Family Grain Mill is not intended to grind any type of nut, seed, or anything with an oily texture or residue. You might consider the Wonder Mill Jr. Deluxe model as it includes the steel burrs for grinding nuts. This mill is a hand crank unit however and does not have a Kitchen Aid adapter available for it.
