Great mixer Review by Guest
Rating Love this mixer I run a bakery from my home and have used this for making fondant, bread dough, ect. with no problems. You do have to watch the weight load requirements, or it will thermal overload. For the price, great buy! (Posted on 3/20/12)
Good for batter & cookie dough, but not for bread Review by Guest
Rating This mixer is nicely made and comes with a high quality bowl and stainless beaters. It runs very quietly and has a lot of power. Heavy chocolate chip cookie dough is no problem at all; it doesn't even slow down when mixing in the chips and nuts. Also, the plastic splatter guard fits securely and is heavy duty. All that said, this is not the machine you want if your goal is to make yeast doughs. The mixer will churn thorough very heavy dough easily, but the motor also heats up very quickly. After about 6 or 7 minutes of kneading at speed 1 or 2, the thermal overload tends to switch off the power, which means the rest of the kneading has to be done by hand. (Posted on 3/8/11)
The bargain of the century Review by Guest
Rating I am an engineer and investigated every single brand and model of moderate sized mixer for home use for breads etc. Just the idea of spending 2k on a Hobart mixer simply was way too much $$ and worse spending a few hundred on a Kitchen Aid mixer that you know wont do the job makes even less sense. How frustrating! All I wanted was nirvana, a commercial grade product that was tidy flexible costs around 4-500.00 and can mix cement with no issues. Well I think I found it. The SP6 Mixer by Globe seems like its a Killer for the Kitchen. For every bread maker out there or someone that wants a for life mixer, run and get one of your own Globe Mixer. You wont be sorry.
