A: Yes, it can be placed in the oven, microwave and dishwasher.

Q: Can you use the lid latch strap while cooking to prevent the liquid from leaking out.

A: The lid is used for transport, it has not been tested while cooking. So, i would not recommend it to be used while cooking.

Food bubbles -- does not simmer - I am very disappointed in this slow cooker....the food is bubbling after half the cook time! The slow cooker is entirely too hot!
