Q: I have read reviews for the Joseph Joseph Elevated Tool Set that noted problems with flaking of the finish on the turner head and heat distortion and melting of the handles. Please advise if these are common problems and the suggested solutions and warranty coverage

A: This brand has a huge following and they regularly receive positive feedback with the majority of their customers being satisfied with their products. The Elevate Kitchen tools are not designed to be left in the pot while cooking. The weighted handle is provided so that the customer may safely rest the unit on their countertop without creating a mess or contaminating their utensils. The heads of these utensils are designed to be heat resistant however they do not advertise the handles to be. They are coated with a TPR (thermoplastic rubber) which is not heat resistant and will melt when in contact with the hot walls of the pot. The manufacturer does cover all of their products against manufacturing defects but technically their warranty does not cover misuse.
