- Can the Blendtech grind the slice dehydrated turmeric?
- It is not recommended that you grind dry spices in the Kitchen Mill as it creates a fine powder that will make a mess in your kitchen and also taint the flavor of everything else you put in Mill after that.

- Any bean that fits through the hole into the milling chamber can be ground. I haven’t heard of any that don’t fit. I would recommend using a larger coarseness setting for something large.

K-tec Grain Mill Review by Guest
Rating We have owned our K-tec for 15 years now. It has always worked extremely well and has produced many, many cups of flours. It is true that it is quite loud, but its speed is fantastic. We recommend ordering some extra filters ahead of time if you mill a lot. (Posted on 2/22/13)
I wore one out Review by Guest
Rating I bought one years ago and wore out the seal, I bought another mill and the flour is not the same, I will be buying the Blendtec mill again, and use the other mill for the coarse flours I want. I loved it. (Posted on 6/26/12)
K-tec Grain Mill Review by Guest
Rating Just received our grain mill this month and have already begun saving HUGE amounts of money blending my own flour for our family of 6. We have a strictly GLUTEN FREE household due to CELIAC DISEASE, and previously spent $40/month on Gluten free flours that were expensive. Now I can buy my gluten free grains in bulk and mill them myself in minutes. It is paying for itself already! (Posted on 2/23/12)
Blendtec Grain Mill Review by Guest
Rating Love this mill. I use it to grind all my own rice flour. I bake gluten-free dog treats and can purchase the rice for less and have more profit margin. It is a real workhorse grinding a 20lb. bag at a time. (Posted on 5/14/11)
K-tec grain mill Review by Guest
Rating I have been using this K-tec mill weekly for a few months now, and it has done a great job. It is loud (imagine a jet taking off in your kitchen), and I do wear earplugs when I use it, but I was expecting that (I had used an old Magic Mill III previously, and I think the K-tec is slightly quieter). I like that I can adjust how fine I want the flour with the K-tec Kitchen Mill, and on the fine setting, it comes out finer than store-bought wheat flour. One tiny annoyance is that when the hopper is almost empty, it sometimes spits kernels of wheat out (maybe 10-15 kernels end up on my countertop each time I use the grinder). I haven't had the clamp problems others have mentioned, but now I'll be extra careful. (Posted on 5/11/11)
Good mill, not great, but good! Review by Guest
Rating I have had this Blendtec Kitchen Mill for about several months and use a spelt & kamut blend just about every week. The grain mill makes a clicking sound sometimes that makes me feel like it's going to break any minute, but it hasn't yet! It is fairly loud, but it grinds so quickly that's not really an issue for me. Also, the clamps that hold the lid on are tough to remove, so much that one side got a little crack when I tried to unhook it. It still locks in place, but I'm sure that will break at some point in the future. I seriously love having this Blendtec flour mill although I think they could have done a couple things to make it more durable. I hope it lasts me for years like some of the other posters have said. I came from a hand grinding mill which was way way way too time consuming to imagine doing weekly. With this Blendtec mill, I can make flour at any time I want without worrying that it will take a long time. Despite the problems, I think it's worth the money over any of the more expensive mills. great tool Review by Guest
Rating We absolutely love this Blendtec flour grinder. The flour is bread ready. I've only used whole wheat in the mill but it is so prefect. This grinder is really easy to use and clean up. I use a new paint brush and just step out on the porch and brush it clean. Yes, a bit noisy but I don't care. You will be so glad you purchased this mill. It's the BEST. (Posted on 5/10/11)
Blendtec Mill is Awesome. Review by Guest
Rating We just purchased this flour mill in Feb. and have used it twice. We love it. It is a bit noisy. The wheat berries went right in top and came out the nicest flour you could want for bread baking. So worth the money invested. Can't wait to try other foods in the Blendtec grain mill. Clean with a nice soft paint brush... and you are done. Very nice. (Posted on 3/9/11)
Love my Blendtec Kitchen Mill Review by Guest
Rating I make a bean flour with multiple types of grains, legumes, and beans. This grain mill works great. Only issue I have is with the "clamps" that hold the lid down. They are nearly impossible to get on and off. (Posted on 1/6/11)
K-tec grain mill good machine, needs new clamps. Review by Guest
Rating I have used the K-tec mill for 19 years since I was 14. We use our grain grinder several times a week, sometimes several times a day. We grind wheat and corn. We are on our second Blendtec Mill now. The only flaw in the Blendtec Mill is the way that the lid/motor housing clamps onto the flour bin. A little drop on the countertop and they can break. It is a durable mill, however (no machine is break proof). As far as grinding speed, noise, flour quality and price I give it 5 stars. But those little clamps are a problem. My mother in law has an older model that has a stainless steel bin and the clamping system is like a tool box! It is indestructible. I wish they would go back to it. Her grain mill still works great and she has had it for a very many years. (Posted on 12/16/10)
K-Tec grain mill Review by Guest
Rating I have had my K-Tec for about 9 years now and it still works but the gasket seal is shot and the little plastic clips that keeps the lid/motor on the top broke off long ago. The entire top/motor casing of the grain mill is cracked from the weight and trying to keep the lid on without the clips. It is also so loud I have to wear ear plugs when using. Stay away. Blendtec Grain Mill Review by Guest
Rating I really like the texture I can get with the Blendtec grain mill. All the different grinds were very nice. The finest grind was as smooth as powdered sugar.
I love it! I have diabetes and have learned that whole grains are the best for me. A friend ground some wheat for me and when I tried it I had to have one of these Blendtec grain mills of my own. Thanks you for having a great little machine at a great price. (Posted on 5/23/09)
Blendtec Rules!!! Review by Guest
Rating I have had my Blendtec (Ktec) mill since the early 1990's and have never had a hiccup with it. It doesn't have the stop start issues that the Wonder Mill has. I turn it off all the time with grain in the hopper to answer the phone or deal with kids. Although the Blendtec Kitchen Mill has a reset button I have never had to use mine. It has been used once to twice/week average. We have ground everything from 6 grain cereal (has sunflower seeds) to popcorn. NO PROBLEM!
(EDITOR'S NOTE: THE BLENDTEC KITCHEN MILL IS NOT RECOMMENDED BY THE MANUFACTURER TO GRIND SUNFLOWER SEEDS IN THIS GRAIN MILL, DUE TO THE OIL CONTENT.) (Posted on 3/18/09)
K-Tec grain Mill Review by Guest
Rating I have owned my wheat mill for 28 years. It has never failed me. I LOVE it. I use it once a week and grind 15-20 cups of flour each time. I have never been disappointed. Grain Mill is loud, but I haven't seen one that isn't. (Posted on 2/2/09)
K-tec grain mill Review by Guest
Rating I too am thoroughly pleased with my K-Tec mill. I've had it for several years, and have probably ground several hundred pounds of flour with it by now. Yes, the grain mill is kind of loud, and the gasket seal isn't perfect, such that you'll get some puffs of flour coming out. But just do it outside. I get at least one pound per minute milling from it. I agree that the grain mill "texture" settings are not that wide. Pretty much for flour and flour only.
Editor's Note: This Blendtec Grain Mill used to be sold under the K-tec name. (Posted on 12/28/08)
K-tec grain mill Review by Guest
Rating I have used the K-tec mill for many years with no problems. It is loud but I have no experience with other wheat mills to suggest anything else. A friend of mine uses earplugs while in the kitchen with her flour mill. The only complaint that I have is that the course setting is not as course as cornmeal and i would like to grind my own cornmeal. I do grind corn but it is more like corn flour. It would also be nice to do our own grits. (Posted on 12/11/08)
K-tec Grain Mill Review by Guest
Rating I've used this grain mill, and it's loud, but this grain mill works like a charm! The K-tec grain mill will grind many cups of wheat flour in a very short period of time. It's only downfall, is that it is loud. It grinds so fast though, that it's over before you know it. Just grind in the garage. The K-tec mill is one of the better mills for your money, if you don't mind the noise, as it will grind your flour very finely. (Posted on 7/16/08)
