Pro 600, In service 4 Months now... Review by Guest
Rating As a breadmaker, I've been using my Pro-600 for 4 months consistantly. We do not buy ANY bread for our family of 4. I expect I make approx. 2 batches of 3 loaves of bread each week and this mixer is all I had hoped for in a mixer. When making bread, I mix the flour in a little (1/2 cup) at a time and have never had any dissappointment with this mixer preforming as it should. My family is happy, we eat french bread and all sorts of other meals prepared with delicious home made bread, so I am very happy with this mixer. (Posted on 11/23/11)
Passes the test with flying colors Review by Guest
Rating Works great! One of the best investments we've made. Waited a long time to get it and now find it indispensible. Takes up a lot of cabinet space but we've adjusted. It's easy to operate and looks good in the kitchen. (Posted on 8/30/11)
Love it! Review by Guest
Best investment ever! Review by Guest
Rating I received this mixer for Christmas 2010 and I absolutely love it! It's so powerful and versatile! I've used it to make several cakes and icings and even tried out making my first homemade bread. The mixer is easy to work with AND easy to clean! The mixing bowl is so big that I can't possibly imagine ever having a job too big. This is my first Kitchen Aid product and I love it! (Posted on 5/16/11)
Doesn't Seem the Same Quality as Older Models Review by Guest
Rating I have an earlier 325 Kitchenaid mixer that I have had since 1994 and I absolutely love it. However, I sometimes like to make three loaf recipes of bread and the 325 watt can't handle it. So I upgraded to the Pro 600 because of its size. It work okay but it sounds like it struggles and it just doesn't seem to be the quality that my original Kitchenaid stand mixer is. It's not bad, but the noise it makes is as if it is working hard to mix anything. The workmanship doesn't seem as sturdy as my original. I like it because of its size, but I love my original more. I just hope it lasts a long time like my other one. I'm not saying it isn't good, just noisy and that is worrisome. Time will tell. (Posted on 5/12/11)
Not Your Grandmother's Mixer Review by Guest
Rating I am sure that this Kitchenaid Professional 600 is a fine mixer for many purposes - cakes, cookies, etc., but if you intend to make bread, I would look elsewhere. I own an older KitchenAid Artisan Mixer, and when I started making two loaves of bread at a time, the volume was too much for it. It could mix the dough, but the dough would crawl out of the bowl. The next logical step in my mind was to upgrade to the larger, more powerful KitchenAid Professional Mixer. During my second batch of the same recipe (Oat Bread from Jeffrey Hamelman's book), the Professional unit started making funny noises and stopped operating. It was apparently overheating. After two or three more tries, I reported the problem to KitchenAid, and they replaced the unit. When I received the new Kitchenaid Pro mixer, I did make bread with it successfully one time, but I felt like I needed to be very careful with it, and I finally decided that I did not want it anymore, so I sold the unit to someone whose main purpose was to make large batches of cupcakes, which I'm sure the Kitchenaid Professional Mixer handled with ease. I ultimately purchased the Bosch Universal Machine, and I am very happy with it. I do give great marks to KitchenAid's customer service . They replaced my original mixer with no hassle, but I just don't think that this one is the right tool for my baking needs. (Posted on 5/11/11)
