KitchenAid Artisan Stand Mixer, Buttercup Yellow 5 Quart

    What a disappointment! - I had a chrome Artisan Kitchenaid mixer for 6 years (wedding gift). It was wonderful and I enjoyed making mashed potatoes, cookies, cakes, you name it. When we bought our home and remodeled the kitchen a sunshine yellow, I knew exactly what I wanted to finish it off - this mixer! My husband gave me the mixer at Christmas 2010. After using it the first time I noticed a noise I hadn't heard in 6 solid years of use with my old one. I figured it needed some break in time so I let it go. About 3 months into owning it, the metal Kitchenaid trim was sliding all around, and I noticed my mixing bowl was not standing up to my previous one. About a month ago I noticed my flat beater started chipping paint!!! Now today, I take everything out to make cookies with my children and a huge chunk of paint is missing from the flat beater. I felt compelled to search for my order information so I could write a review and hopefully hear back from this company. I very dissatisfied that after one year of use, my mixer sounds and looks about 10 years old. For a very expensive kitchen appliance, I figured it would get many many years of use. I am kicking myself daily for selling my old Kitchenaid mixer after receiving this. I baby this thing like I did my other one as it is my favorite part of the kitchen. I am not sure what to do at this point but the quality is unacceptable.

    Love my beautiful mixer - Though I've cooked and baked for decades, I really felt I had arrived when I got my KitchenAid mixer. I adore the color (buttercup). It has taken me a while to get used to the design when it comes to access to the mixing bowl during use, i.e., to using the chute rather than being able to add things easily manually. Other than that, I love it.
