    • I am an Indian, I currently hand mix chappathi and puri dough for a family of 4 with very little water. I am looking to see if Kitchen Aid can do my hand mixing. Also please let me know what are the difference between the three Kitchen Aid products. Kitchenaid Professional 600 6 Quart Stand Mixer, Kitchen Aid Professional 5 Plus Mixer and Kitchen Aid Artisan Mixer - Custom.
    • The Kitchen Aid Pro 600 has a 575 watt motor and includes a 6 quart bowl. The Pro 5 Plus has a 450 watt motor and includes a 5 quart bowl. Both of the previous mentioned mixers are bowl lift design and the head does not tilt back. The Kitchen Aid Artisan Mixer has 325 watts and comes with a 5 quart bowl and is a tilt head mixer which means the head tilts back instead of the bowl lifting up and down. The chappathi dough with very little water may be too stiff for the mixer.

    • Obviously I'm deciding between the Cuisinart 7 Qt. and Kitchen Aid 6 Qt.mixers. The Cuisinart 7 quart bowl looks like the beaters go too far into the bowl for a cook to take advantage of the 1 quart larger difference. If I'm correct, I should choose the Kitchen Aid, however I'm interested in the largest product mixing capacity. Thank-you,..Kathie Merrick
    • The biggest difference between the Cuisinart 7 quart and the Kitchen Aid 6 quart would be the size of the motor. The Kitchen Aid Pro 600 has a 575 watt motor, whereas the Cuisinart SM-70 has a 1000 watt motor. The extra quart in the bowl size doesn't make that big of a difference. If you are interested in a larger mixer you may wish to look at the Globe Commercial Mixer Model SP8.

    • I am a chef/caterer and have a 26 year old K5ss mixer. I would like to upgrade to the 6qt. mixer but have read many reviews saying it stops in the middle of mixing, overheats. Is this true? I have replaced a few parts in my current mixer, but it has been my workhorse for all these years and it never has a moment's problem. I bake a lot of yeast breads, up to 24 at a time two or three times a week.. Thank you.
    • The Kitchen Aid Pro 600 does have a powerful 575 watt motor. We have experienced a lot of customer satisfaction with this mixer. However, due to the amount of yeast bread you are making I would suggest that you take a look at the Bosch Universal Mixer.

  • From at 8/2/11 2:37 PM
    • Does the bowl lift feature on the Pro 600 have a tendency to wear out quicker than the tilt? Will it tilt also?
    • Kitchen Aid might be able to answer this with more accuracy considering any warranty repairs and replacements go through them but in my experience one style is not more durable than the other. It is more of a personal preference I've found. The KitchenAid bowl-lift mixers are generally larger and have stronger motors while the tilt head mixers are generally smaller and easier to move around and are usually less expensive. The KitchenAid bowl-lift mixers have a more rigid design making them better for bread and stiffer doughs. No, I'm sorry the Pro 600 mixer will not tilt, it is a bowl lift design only.

    • I am interested in purchasing the 6-quart Pro mixer. I have read that the original models had plastic in the gear casing. Can you guarantee that the models you are selling have the updated all metal casing? For such a heavy-duty motor, I expect this will be essential. Thank you.

A great gift for mother to daughter! Review by

I ordered an espresso 6 quart pro mixer for my daughter after buying one for myself last year. She was delighted to receive it. The color is beautiful and it is a pleasure to use. It was a great price, there was a free ice cream maker by rebate and shipping was free. I contacted customer service prior to the order and all my questions were answered. (Posted on 1/13/14)

This is my second Kitchenaid stand mixer. I gave my first one that is 18 years old and going strong to my son as I wanted a larger bowl and different color. These machines are the most useful appliance in the kitchen with a motor powerful enough to propel a small boat! Everything Kitchens had the best price anywhere and the mixer arrive quickly and absolutely brand new in box. Order one and you will not be disappointed! (Posted on 9/12/13)

Good, but only handles 2 lbs of flour at a time Review by

Rating
5

All in all, it's an excellent workhorse. I wouldn't get any cheaper/weaker model. My father also bakes and got the step down, and it's just not capable of doing 2 lbs of bread. I've had mine about 4 years and finally after baking at least 2 loaves every week the internal gears broke. $30 and a few weeks later I fixed it and it's back in operation. And I abuse it with very heavy high gluten flour, so don't worry, it's relatively easy to fix and repair. If I wanted to replace the $50 motor, it would be like a brand new machine. Without this machine I wouldn't make bread, but because of this I supply my family with all the bread we need baking once a week. (Posted on 3/19/13)

Most Amazing Mixer Review by

I ordered my Pro 600 mixer in January 2013 and am totally amazed at the service from Everything Kitchens. I have strongly recommended them since I bought mine. The mixer is a dream come true. I have used it and used it and used it. This one replaced one we lost in the flood of 2008 in Cedar Rapids. We had had that one for over 20 years. Can't imagine cooking without this one. Looking forward to getting more attachements. Thanks so much for keeping your prices so low. Linda Michalec, Cedars Rapids, IA (Posted on 2/20/13)

Never Again Review by

I am now on my third Pro 600 and I will never purchase anything from KitchenAid again. I was under the impression that when I purchased my KitchenAid it would be able to make bread. WRONG!! I made bread the other day and while it was kneading (which is why I wanted a mixer because my wrists don't allow me to knead the bread) it stopped working. What good is a mixer if it can't make bread. I will now be buying a Bosch. Thanks for nothing KitchenAid. (Posted on 1/30/13)

I have a KitchenAid Ultra Power 4.5qt and wanted to upgrade to a larger model. After doing some research, I chose the Pro 600 6 Quart. My sister-in-law recommended Everything Kitchens and they had the best price by far and the quickest delivery time. It arrived in less than 48 hours, just in time for holiday baking, and it is wonderful! It handles large batches with ease and it is very easy to clean. My mixer is Empire Red and the color is beautiful and it looks very impressive on my kitchen counter. I look forward to many happy years of mixing and baking! I really LOVE my Professional 600; it can handle ANYthing and quickly. The power of this mixer changes how easily and quickly things mix up. I have used the Classic, and I also have an Artisan model because I like its color. They're all great, but this one is like nothing else! I also bought the 3 quart bowl that comes with a whip+paddle combo attachment. It makes the machine that much more versatile and useful. Do it; you won't regret it! (Posted on 11/14/12)

I ordered the first 3 white 600 mixers in '04 with money I received from my Father's estate. I ordered the mixers for my daughter and 2 daughter-in-laws. We all cook lots and all the time. They were so thrilled. Last week I order mixer no. 4 for my Granddaughter's wedding present. She wanted the Dark Pewter. It arrived last Monday in plenty of time for the wedding. Thanks so much!! She is so happy. She can make pies that are out of this world. Beautiful, delicious pies Her Fiance also loves to cook.He even considered becoming a Chef.I am anxious to hear of his love for the mixer too. (Posted on 5/29/12)

I've been wanting a stand mixer for years and finally bought the Pro 600. It was the best priced on EverythingKitchens than it was on every website and store that I found at the time of purchase. I could not be more happy with this mixer! I ordered it and 4 days later it was at my door! I'm a beginner baker and in the week that I've had it, I've used it about 6 times and its worked great everytime! I LOVE THIS MIXER!! (Posted on 8/3/11)

Kitchen Aid Pro 600 Mixer Review by

Rating

This mixer is amazing. I ordered it in the brown box, and it came perfectly packaged and exactly as it would have come in the Kitchen Aid original box. Shipping was VERY fast! I have owned a Kitchen Aid Classic stand mixer for 24 years, and had the motor replaced after18 years. I still use my old faithful Classic for light work, but needed a newer mixer for the heavy duty work. Some of the reviews I read concerned me because of complaints of the 600 Pro being noisy... I am pleased to say that it is nowhere near as noisy as my old Classic mixer, and what this machine can do to a lump of bread dough is incredible . My old Classic mixer used to strain to knead dough, but this Pro 600 kneads even heavy whole wheat dough effortlessly. I am extremely happy with this purchase; both the product and the company. Love my Kitchen Aid!!!! Review by

19 years ago I bought my first Kitchen Aid stand mixer. It just 100.00 Plain Jane Classic Mixer. I have used it so many times I didn't think it would make it through another wedding. I told my husband that I would like a new mixer but bigger. :) We started looking for the perfect one in our price range. I found this one 2 days before our daughter's wedding. My 19 year old mixer didn't fail me again. I made a 9 tier wedding cake plus groom's cake with my old pal. When I received Kitchenaid professional mixer one I packed up the classic with tears. I know it will serve my daughter well in years to come. I love love love the new 6 qt mixer.. made so much bread my family is sick. LOL Thanks Everything Kitchens! You were fast and super inexpensive. I will recommend this site to any one shopping for kitchen supplies. By the way, I have done nothing but brag. (Posted on 6/3/11)

My nephew bought the Kitchenaid Pro 6 qt mixer for his mother for Christmas. However, he bought it from a company that refurbishes them. Therefore, he asked me to field test it for him to make sure it worked the way it was suppose to. I did, and WOW! I loved it. After giving it back, my 15 year old missed it so much she decided to buy one for me! I can't wait to try mine out. This is a terrific deal. Believe me, I have been pricing these mixers for over a year. I can't believe the deal I got on it. Thank you so much! (Posted on 1/31/11)

KitchenAid 6 Quart mixer- Just perfect! Review by

I ordered the Caviar color and it is beautiful! Made the cheese ball mix from the recipe book for an appetizer and was worried it wouldn't mix in from the bottom, not a problem at all! Absolutely delicious! I've had a KitchenAid Mixer for about 8 years and sold my 5 quart mixer to help pay for this larger and more powerful mixer. Will get more use from this size as I love to make breads and am looking forward to trying the other recipes in the book. I also have the Pasta attachments (KPEX set) and made spaghetti last week, fabulous. Definitely, give it a try, you'll love it! (Posted on 12/26/10)

I have LOVED my KitchenAid, since I purchased it less than 4 years ago. I bake a LOT, and make quite a lot of Royal Icing, which has to whip for 10 minutes. My 4 year old mixer is losing power, sputtering, etc. I am very disappointed, and am now looking for another brand to purchase. I LOVED it while it lasted, but 4 years is NOT what I expected! This is #7! Review by

I've bought 5 KitchenAid mixers as wedding gifts for our nieces (an aunt gave me my first KA as a wedding gift) and 2 for myself. The one I received as a wedding gift 32 yrs ago, recently died but I still had the 5 qt commercial KA I bought about 13 yrs ago. So I bought the Kitchenaid Pro 600 in dark pewter. I have made thousands -yes!- of chocolate chip cookies so, of course, the first thing I made in my new Kitchenaid was chocolate chip cookies. I love it. The wider bowl didn't send up the flour storm like my 5 qt commercial Kitchenaid with the narrow bowl. It is also easier add ingredients and to scrape the bowl. The only problem I have is that it won't fit back under my upper cabinets. It is about a 1/4 inch too tall! I also bought a second bowl and the 3 qt bowl with the combi-whip. It is so handy to have that second bowl when I am making multiple batches. (Posted on 7/17/10)

Got you beat - Ours is 34 years old Review by

We bought Kitchenaid Mixer when we started a catering business in 1976. It is the 5 qt. professional model and it has never been in the shop, never let us down after TONS of product run through this amazing machine, and it's still going strong! The only thing that gave out was the dough hook. The paint coating split and it began to rust. This happened just a few years ago. I swear, you could mix cement with this thing and it wouldn't slow down. We recently purchased the $170 pasta maker and it really gives the mixer a workout. But the mixer just keeps on chugging. Simply amazing. We recommend this for anyone from beginning cook to old pro. It will be the only mixer you'll ever purchase, so pick your color carefully. You'll have to live with it for a very long time. (ours is white) We purchased one for our daughter when she got married 10 years ago. It's going strong. And we've recommended the mixer to many of our friends and clients over the years. It is expensive, but you will only buy it once. (Posted on 1/11/10)

Kitchen Aid Mixer Review by

I got my first Kitchen Aid mixer in 1989. It was the 325 watt tilt top. In 2000 I sold it and bought a bigger one. I could not be with my kitchen aid mixer. I use it for everything....breads, cookies, frostings and even meatloaf. It is a workhorse and has never let me down. It seems like it is always in use as we make everything from scratch. I just received my Kitchen Aid Proline Coffee Grinder from Everything Kitchens. Best price, wonderful customer service when ordering over the phone and quick delivery. So....now I think I will tell Santa that I need the Kitchen Aid 6 Quart mixer this year. I would never even consider buying anything else but Kitchen Aid. These machines never wear out, but sometimes we just want the newer, bigger one. (Posted on 11/6/09)

It's great until it breaks. Review by

Rating

I read about people getting 30 or more years out of one of these. That may be so but the new ones are not built like they used to be. I was also happy with mine until it died after just over a year: the gears stripped while kneading pasta dough. Now they don't really stand behind this thing and all I have is a $400 piece of Americana art for the kitchen.

I was never happy, however, with the slicer/shredder since they only seemed to be able to make mush. I'm now looking seriously at Bosch and other mixers that may be built to last. (Posted on 10/12/09)

I bought my mixer from this site (Dark Pewter) and have been using it for a week now. I LOVE IT!!! It handles even the stiffest doughs like a dream and kneads them into soft pliable mounds in just a couple of minutes. This Kitchen Aid 6 Qt Mixer's size is impressive, but it fits on the counter in my small kitchen just fine. The price could not be beat in any store I looked in even with the rebate.
