Kitchenaid citrus juicer JE - I purchased this attachment to juice a large number of oranges. After about 10 pounds of fruit a black substance appeared in the cup. This turned out to be residue from the bushing in the cup. Apparently juice managed to get on the spindle and ate up the bronze or brass bushing. Kitchenaid informed me that the unit was not designed to do such a large amount of fruit but rather a couple of oranges for breakfast. For that task I have a hand operated air cooled model from the dollar store. In fairness, they did replace the juicer at no charge, but this isn't the kind of product I have come to expect from Kitchenaid.

Nearly Commercial Quality Juicer At A Great Price - I bought a cheap Black & Decker stand alone juicer with an anemic motor and cheap plastic gears that died after a couple of pounds of lemons. I replaced it with the KitchenAid juicer attachment for only a few dollars more and have processed a lot of citrus with this KitchenAid mixer attachment. I will often volunteer to bring a five gallon cooler of home squeezed lemonade or limeade to various functions and this Kitchenaid juicer is up to the task. It has lasted a long time, is still going strong, and there is much less hand fatigue when processing large amounts of fruit compared to the vertical stand alone versions. Many times, I've processed six pounds of lemons in 15-20 minutes. The power of a KitchenAid mixer will juice a lemon in a hurry! Lose the plastic strainer that quickly clogs and use a large stainless strainer with a handle and two ears that fit nicely over the top of the stainless KitchenAid mixer bowl to catch the juice. Dump water through the pulp and stir with a spoon to extract the last of the juice and leave the pulp and seeds behind. I'll juice a bag of lemons and freeze the juice in plastic ice cube trays and keep them in the freezer to use instead of fresh lemon juice when cooking, or to make a quick glass of lemonade (1 lemon juice cube, 1 T sugar, 8 oz water, stir to melt cube and dissolve sugar, then fill the glass with ice). BTW - To make five gallons of fresh homemade lemonade or limeade, juice six pounds of fruit (three of the two pound bags, about thirty lemons), add water to make three gallons, stir in six cups of sugar, and add a bag of ice to fill the five gallon cooler.

Kitchenaid Citrus Juicer Attachment - I have large orange and lemon trees in my backyard that I'm not always successful in giving away all the fruit. I usually resort to juicing what's left, but most juicers I've found are not up to the task and make it rather tedious work. This Kitchenaid Citrus Attachment setup provides plenty of power at different speeds and by grasping the machine at both ends you can clean out the pulp completely and easily. This citrus juicer attachment may be a bit much for just the occasional glass of juice, but for someone who's got a several dozen oranges or lemons to dispose of, it's a godsend!
