- can I grind corn to make corn meal?
- This is not what you would use for corn meal. If you want to grind corn meal with your Kitchenaid mixer, you have two options.
Kitchenaid Grain Mill Attachment at - http://www.everythingkitchens.com/kitchenaid-grain-mill.html or Messerschmidt Grain Mill Attachment for Kitchenaid Mixers at http://www.everythingkitchens.com/messerschmidt_grain_mill_kitchenaid_attachment_4001.html. - Do you find this question helpful? Yes No

- how do I get the auger out of the meat grinder attachment?
- The manufacturer's manual says the following on page 3 for assembling the auger onto the food mill, so you would need to reverse these directions for removal. If you want to follow along visually, feel free to open the manual on the product page.
"Insert the grind worm (A) into the grinder body (B). Place the knife (C) over the
square shank at the exposed end of the grind worm. Place grinding plate (D) over
the knife, matching the tabs of the plate with the notches of the grinder body. Place
ring (E) on grinder body, turning by hand until secured but not over tightened.
Note: Use wrench (F) for removal only, do not use to tighten ring." - Do you find this question helpful? Yes No

- Will this grinder attachment work to grined up deer meat.
- I copied the following from the manual, so it appears that the FGA Kitchenaid Food Grinder attachment will work just fine for venison.
"Cut food into small strips or pieces
and feed them into hopper. Meat
should be cut into long narrow strips.
Turn mixer to Speed 4 and feed food
into hopper using food pusher. Never
put your fingers in the hopper."
"Coarse Plate — Use for grinding
raw or cooked meats, firm vegetables,
dried fruits and cheese.
Fine Plate — Use for grinding raw
meat, cooked meats for spreads and
bread for crumbs.
Grinding Meat — For better mix
and more tender results, grind beef
twice. Best texture results from grinding
very cold or partially frozen meat.
Fatty meats should be ground only
once."
However, if you are a hunter, and processing a whole deer at a time, you may be wanting something more heavy duty. Check out the LEM meat grinders at http://www.everythingkitchens.com/lem_meat_processing_products.html#meatgrinders. I hope this helps! - Do you find this question helpful? Yes No

Kitchenaid Food Grinder attachment....... Review by Guest
Rating We love our meat grinder.....about the bread crumb person, if you read the instructions.....you are to dry the bread completely first......we made our own sausage and used the fine grinding part....it was smushy, but I loved that....we added lots of herbs and made a smushed tightly sealed patty of sausage.....it was so lean we had to add a tiny bit of olive oil.......Now we can eat with out nitrates and it worked slowly alone as I trimed up the sale priced pork chops..............we love it and will try grinding up meat for some stews...can't wait to do that too.......:) (Posted on 1/9/13)

Rating I couldn't be more pleased with the Kitchenaid Food Grinder. Well made and easy to use and clean. Have been making my own ground beef and bulk sausage for several weeks now and there is no comparison to what is available at the supermarket. I love knowing exactly what is going into the food we eat. The only thing missing, according to my husband, are the bits of bones and cartilage. (Posted on 8/18/11)

Rating I purchased my food grinder as a gift, but I am sold on Kitchenaid having two mixers and a 16 cup & 12 cup food processors with most of the attachments. I have used my food grinder to make hundreds of pounds of bratwurst and a variety of other sausages. (Posted on 5/11/11)
