Q: Does the 5 quart bowl K5GB fit an artisan 5quart tilt mixer. How do you measure the bowl? Would a 6 quart bowl fit the 5 quart mixer? The SS bowl that came with my mixer is too narrow for me to work with comfortably. Is it possible to use a 6 quart bowl with my 5 quart mixer and would I have to replace my whip, dough hook and flat beater if I get the 6 quart bowl? thanks for your help. Mrs. Powers
A: The K5GB Glass Bowl only fits the Kitchen Aid Artisan Stand Mixer. All the Kitchen Aid Bowls are model specific. A 6 quart bowl will not fit a 5 quart mixer. Unfortunately you may not use any other bowl with your mixer.

I was worried that this bowl would be too big for my 4.5 quart mixer. While it is bigger than the metal bowl, it fits fine and provides the "visual" I like when I'm mixing something. It's sturdy and I love the lid!
