Kitchenaid Ice Cream Maker -
This is a great attachment. I have a 6 qt. mixer, and the ice cream maker fits well and works fine. Just follow the instructions. I had soft ice cream in 20 minutes.

5 qt stand mixer with ice cream attachment -
I ordered this mixer and the ice cream maker attachment to conduct trial runs of ice cream, gelato, sorbet, and frozen yogurts to determine which I'd like to make in our ice cream shop we are building. Because I made so many different flavors, I've had several "tasting parties" for neighbors who vote on which they like best. Because it takes 24 hrs to refreeze the attachment, I purchased a second one, so I can make 2 batches at a time. The mixer and ice cream maker attachment work really well for my purposes. The only problem I have is that the blades for the Kitchenaid mixer do not touch the bottom of the bowl and I always have to stop and lower the bowl to make certain everything is getting mixed well. The ice cream attachment is rather fussy about how it is used. It doesn't like to have a cold mixture poured in too fast without the mixer running. When I've done that, the paddles are not strong enough to scrape the sides of the attachment clean and I have to stop and scrape the sides my hand to get things working. Nonetheless, I do recommend this mixer and the ice cream attachment.

Works Very Well - Fun To Create Your Own Recipes -
I've had this KitchenAid ice cream freezer for a few years and have made a lot of good soy ice cream and sorbet. I think it's particularly good if you want something unique like soy milk based ice cream, which is ridiculously expensive to buy but cheap and easy to make. I've read negative reviews elsewhere claiming it won't freeze ice cream or it results in a milkshake consistency. If that happens, the mixture has too much salt and/or sugar, the bowl wasn't properly frozen overnight in a cold freezer, or too much mix was added (try one quart of mix to make a quart and a half of ice cream). My favorite is a chocolate almond ice cream recipe I made up myself that's so rich that fudge ripple stripes precipitate out as the ice cream freezes. It's pharmaceutical grade. My only complaint - I gained ten pounds the first month I had the ice cream maker, and I had to go cold turkey to break my addiction. Now, I only eat ice cream socially, and infrequently. :-)

ice cream attachment - great -
Love this! Easy to use & clean. Quality part. Made a great batch of ice cream with the Kitchen Aid Ice Cream Maker Attachment. I used my own recipe, so cannot rate recipes in booklet that comes with attachment. You won't be sorry buying this.
