Customer Questions:
|
Q: I want to confirm that the RVSA Kitchen Aid Rotor Slicer W/Shredder Attachment fits the Kitchen aid Classic mixer.
A: Yes, Kitchen Aid attachments are made to be universal to fit all models of Kitchen Aid mixers. Please be aware however that the mixing accessories (dough hooks, beaters, and whisks), mixing bowls, and pouring shields are model specific.
|
|
Q: Does this item fit the Kitchen Aid Artisan KSM150?
A: Yes, the RVSA fits the Artisan Mixer KSM150. Kitchen Aid has made all of their attachments compatible with all mixer models (bowls, pouring shield, and mixing accessories are model specific).

|
Q: Does the the ultra power model ksm90 have a meat slicer attachment?
A: This RVSA will fit the KSM90 mixer, and it has a slicing cone. In fact, this Kitchenaid attachment will fit all Kitchenaid mixers manufactured as far back as somewhere in the 1990s, except for the commercial mixer.

Q: Can slicer be used for canning pickles? And can it make curly fries?
A: Yes, you could use this to slice cucumbers for making pickles. As for curly fries, this will not do that. Try http://www.everythingkitchens.com/progressive-curly-fry-cutter.html for curly fries.

|
Q: Could this slicer be used to cut cabbage for Sauerkraut ?
A: Yes, this slicer/shredder would work well for slicing or shredding smaller batches of cabbage for Sauerkraut. For larger batches you might consider a free standing food processor as it would be more time efficient.

Q: Is the Kitchenaid slicer attachment compatible with meat? Like to slice a turkey ham or something that size or is it too small? Thanks
A: The Kitchenaid RVSA Slicer Shredder attachment can process the following, per the owner's manual.
"No. 1 Fine Shredder — Finely
shreds hard and crisp vegetables,
such as carrots, beets, turnips, potatoes,
celery, nuts, firm cold cheese,
coconut and dry bread.
No. 2 Coarse Shredder —
Coarsely shreds carrots, celery,
onions, fruits, nuts or chocolate.
Potatoes can be shredded for shoestrings
or hash browns.
No. 3 Thick Slicer — Gives a thick
slice for firm foods. Perfect for vegetables
that are to be steamed, fried,
scalloped or creamed.
No. 4 Thin Slicer — Thinly slices
vegetables for cole slaw, potato chips,
sauerkraut, bread and butter pickles,
sliced cucumbers, radishes, celery
and nuts."
I do not see meat in there anywhere. I believe it is due to the size of the attachment feeder, as well as texture. If you tried to slice a processed ham, for instance, this Kitchenaid slicer attachment would probably do it, but not well, simply due to size. If you tried to slice steak, due to texture, I'd imagine you'd have a mess on your hands. We have a large selection of meat slicers available, if you want to view them. Check out: http://www.everythingkitchens.com/foodslicers.html

Q: Is there any attachment that grinds nuts?
A: No, Kitchenaid does not make an attachment that will make nut butters. If you want to make nut butters, we do have options, just not ones that will fit your Kitchenaid mixer. For instance, the Twister Jar for the Blendtec blender is intended for this purpose. http://www.everythingkitchens.com/blendtec-twister-jar-40-620-54.html Or, if you just want to chop nuts, we have some low priced options such as http://www.everythingkitchens.com/progressive-nut-chopper-GFNC-2.html. I hope this helps!

|
Q: Do all these Kitchenaid attachments fit both the 5 qt. and 6 qt. professional mixers?
A: Yes, the RVSA and all Kitchen Aid attachments fit all models of Kitchen Aid mixers.
|
|
Q: My husband often makes jerky and would love to get a slicer. Is this one made to cut meat or better with fruit and veggies?
A: This Kitchenaid slicer is not really intended for use with meat. If you want a meat slicer check out our selection at: http://www.everythingkitchens.com/foodslicers.html

|
Q: I am looking to grate carrots for carrot cake. Will this Kitchenaid rotor slicer shredder grate the carrots micro fine. There is nothing worse than chunky carrots in cake.
Thanks
A: If you look on page 3 of the manual at http://www.everythingkitchens.com/PDFfiles/RVSA.pdf, you will see a picture of the fine shredding cone. It looks like it will shred very finely, so should work for your intended purpose.

|
Q: I have lost the part of the rotor slicer that connects it to the mixer. Can I buy it separately or do I have to buy a whole new attachment?
A: We do not sell this piece individually but you may be able to obtain it through KitchenAid directly by calling 800-541-6390. We only have the whole attachment.

Love this Slicer Shredder -
I have this item and absolutely love it. Makes my scalloped potatoes so easy to make. However, after several years of use the plastic has split and now I need to buy a new one. Need to improve the plastic where the pressure made it split.
|
A Workhorse -
I had to make a huge amount of coleslaw for a cookout and used the Kitchenaid shredder for about 40 heads of cabbage without having any problems. It is not particularly easy to put on and take off, so I don't use it for quick jobs, but it certainly works well when you have a big job to do.
|
Would not grate the cabbage -
I was making coleslaw for a dinner and decided to use my slicer/grater attachment. It made a mess of my cabbage. This was my first time using it and maybe my last. Instead, I used my small kitchen aid chopper- which works like a charm everytime. Will probably return the rotor slicer/grater.

Kitchenaid slicer -
Hard to put on and off, I'm not happy with the slicer that is suppose to slice thick. There isn't much difference between it and thin slice.
|
Kitchenaid Slicer -
It's hard to put on and off, but slices great.
|
Works great when installed -
Had to be replaced after first use. Shaft torn up. Second one hard to install. Can not install or remove shaft only when installed on the mixer!!! It takes both hands pulling really hard to remove Kitchenaid Slicer/Shredder from the stand mixer. Wife doesn't use any more.
|
Works Great -
This Kitchenaid attachment was a great addition. We love how easy it makes shredding and slicing. Easy to clean and install. We love it.
