Q: I have owned my yellow Kitchen Aid mixer since 1977 and I love it but have lost the metal part that fits into the hole on the front that allows for attachment of the salad slicer/grater attachment. Are there any replacement parts catalogs that would allow me to purchase another one?
Also, if I decide to replace the mixer, would any of the newer models accommodate my bowl, or will that be obsolete. Mary Lou
A: The Kitchen Aid bowls are model specific. Therefore it is doubtful that your bowl would fit a new model. We do not carry parts for the mixers. You may wish to contact Kitchen Aid directly at 800-541-6390 to inquire about parts availability for your model.

Q: I have a KitchenAid Classic stand mixer which is probably about 10 years old. My problem is with the on/off switch. It clicks on with the slightest bump which can be very dangerous. I try to remember to unplug it when in the upright position but there have been a couple of times when I forgot. It turns on with the slightest touch. Is there a fix for this? My husband says to throw it away but if it can be fixed, I sure would like to keep it. Thanks.
A: You may wish to contact Kitchen Aid Customer Service at 1-800-541-6390 for troubleshooting.

1977 Kitchenaid model -
My KitchenAid Stand Mixer is still going strong like the other person said. Heats up a bit when used hard for long periods, but very reliable.

From Dad, to Mom, to Uncle... -
My dad bought this same mixer for my mother 5 years ago. But, because I have integrated my mother into the real world and out of housekeeping, she has given this mixer to my uncle. He uses practically everyday to prepare meals, desserts and breads while his wife is at work. They love it.

4 1/2 qt mixer-19yrs and still running strong -
Love this mixer. It was a wedding gift, from someone very dear to me. I've had it 19yrs and use it very hard. No problems ever came up. Just bought one for my niece as a house warming gift. No other mixer compares to this one. It is worth every penny.

Very dangerous when using dough hook!!!! -
Every time I mix bread dough, the bowl starts wobbling and Must be turned off to reposition bowl tighter, since it doesn't lock in. I'll take my old ken wood Anyday over this!

Kitchen Aid K45SS -
This Mixer came with a basic attachment pack; slicer, grinder and strainer. I bought it back in 1975 when I got married. It has come along with me through a divorce and three moves. Baby food, apple sauce, vegetable juice, bread dough. It will do anything. I have seen the new ones on the shelf in stores. The new ones are the same heavy duty mixers as the one I have. Mine isn't red or pink but its the Almond. I made a fancy ruffled cover for it because it stays right on the counter so its always convenient to use. It takes the place of a lot of other things that wear out easy and don't work nearly as well. It is the best thing for a young bride or mother to start out with and still have when her kids are grown.

Stand Mixer -
I have had this mixer for over a year now and I have had great results. I bought this one on sale and then ordered a extra bowl with a handle. Sometimes I need both bowls because I double recipes.. I plan to buy our daughter one in the future. I have carpal tunnel so this mixer makes baking and cooking much easier for me.

Terri -
I received my Kitchen Aid mixer in 1972. I have used it countless times and it continues to run just a beautifully as it did the day I got it. I have made everything broom bread dough, to meringue, to grinding meat for sausage and chopping veggies for picnics. It is the absolute best mixer on the market.

home owner -
I worked for the Hobart Corp before they sold the Kitchenaid brand and bought a new one at that time. It kept gaining speed on low so it would toss the stuff right out of the bowl, My wife set it aside 2 yrs. ago and went back to using the old 3 B model. It still works great! We highly recommend Kitchenaid mixers I even found some used ones and fixed them up for my kids and grand kids. Yaaa Kitchenaid!

Since 1990 and going STRONG -
I bought this mixer as a refurbished model. Love it still today. ocassionaly the pin that connects the base and arm together likes to pop out some but it pushes right back in. I sometimes think about buying a new one, but mainly b/c there are so many great new colors that I love.

Kitchen Aid Mixer K45 -
I have had this Kitchen Aid Mixer for 32 years and it is still going. All my children requested one when they got married and I am now giving one to the grandchildren as they get married. It was the best gift I ever got. I would absolutely recommend this as a gift because it will always be used.
