Filter Pro Dehydrator - |
March 20, 2010 |
I bought this as my 1st dehydrator about 8 months ago. It is very quiet, I like the digital temp and time controls & it was perfect for what I needed. Today when doing a batch of jerky the fan & display abruptly shut off & power switch did not work. Resetting the time to 1 hr, it came back on and the power switch still did not work. Unplug and replug and automatically comes on, power switch still does not work. Even with setting to 1 hr does not shut off, have to unplug. Monday I will call & see how good the warranty really is (I will let you know).

Tray space, temp guage are defficient - |

I am going to sell my L'Equip dehydrator because I need one that doesn't have an airflow chimney going through the middle of every tray. The chimney hole makes it impossible to dry a whole sheet of cracker dough or fruit leather. You have to work around the hole. Also, there is no way to know the temperature of the air in the dehydrator. The L'Equip has an unmarked temp dial. I would prefer one with a marked temperature control. It was good for learning how to dehydrate, it did the job, but now that I'm more experienced, I recognize I will need uninterrupted tray space and trmperature control.

Have had the L'Equip Food Dehydrator for 4-5 yrs, make jerky from deer, all kinds of seasonings, peppers, onions, tomatoes. Have not tried fruit leather, so cannot speak to that. This dehydrator fits my needs very well.

Long life and perfect, consistent drying results. - |

I have this food dehydrator under the name Magic Aire II which I bought about 20 years ago. The food dehydrator is still working and dries everything evenly. I have beef jerky going now. I was curious to see if it was still made and found it under this new name. I have dried lots of fruit in it, too, over the years. I have 10 trays. I have a large sink and when I am done the trays fit in to it so they are easily washed.
