The Model ME972 comes equipped with four ample-sized drying trays made of a durable, transparent material. It provides for two thermostat-controlled drying temperatures to allow for proper, uniform drying of many food types with varied water content. Temperature setting 1 heats the interior to 103° for gentle drying. Temperature setting 2 heats the interior to 130° for quicker drying of thicker, moister foods. At the normal setting, apples dry in 10 - 12 hours, while mushrooms and vegetables typically take 8 - 10 hours to dry, depending on inherent moisture and thickness of the cut.
Model ME972 is durable and built with a safety overheating protection device. In the very unlikely event that the operation of the fan or motor is obstructed, causing excessive heat, the unit will switch itself off to prevent damage to itself or the food drying. The dehydrator is easily reset by removing the obstruction and switching the machine back on when cool. The drying tryas are quickly and easily washed after use.
