Q: Does the Omega Juicer model VRT330 also juice wheat grass? Does it do what the 8005 juicer does?

A: Yes, this juicer will juice wheatgrass, as the manufacturer states that it is good for leafy greens, and this would fall into that category. I called them to verify as well. This Omega Vert juicer will juice like a centrifugal juicer (though it is an auger style juicer), but will work like the 8005 auger type juicer as it operates at low speed. The 8005 will juice wheatgrass a little better than the VERT, but the VERT will still do wheatgrass and does better than the 8005 on fruits, so I would buy whichever you will be juicing more of; 8005 for wheatgrass, and VERT for fruit. This slow speed of either juicer also helps the juice not to have as much foam on it after juicing, and less oxidation. The VERT will also give you pulpier juice than the 8005.  Omega Low Speed Juicer VERT -
Overall, my wife and i really like the juicer. The mesh/wire basket has a rather thin piece of plastic wrapping the perimeter. Recently it has began cracking in several places. If the plastic 'band piece' were to have approximately 3 ribs molded into it (in the direction opposing the outward force during operation) the piece would become much stronger. There is also room to add the 1 - 1.5mm tall ribs and the only resultant change would be to the 'rubber' vertical flaps that already have a cutout. Once this durability change would be made, i would highly recommend this juicer to everyone. thanks for the opportunity to write this review, Dave
