This Solis espresso machine has an adjustable grind and dosing system that can easily be changed, allowing any user to have their espresso to have the flavor and aroma that they prefer. The Solis Master 5000 can create any coffee house drink the user can think of and can brew a single shot of espresso in just 15 seconds, with a double shot brewing in only 20 seconds. After you have brewed your espresso, the unit can switch to milk frothing in approximately 45 seconds allowing you to create a cappuccino or latte in around a minute. All of the brewing functions of the Master 5000 can be programmed to brew however the user prefers, everything from the pre-brew coffee conditioning system that pre-injects hot water into the coffee grounds to the water hardness system are all adjustable. The Bottom Line on the Master 5000 Digital by SolisThe Solis Master 5000 Digital is essentially the same as the Solis Master 5000 but this digital unit has the backlit display making it more user friendly. The digital display allows the user to be guided through every step of the brewing process and is very straight forward. Now if you don't believe that a digital display will be necessary then I suggest purchasing the standard Solis Master 5000, but for simple ease of use and user friendliness I suggest the Digital. Compared to it's competitors this unit is compact allowing it to easily fit under most cabinets, while still retaining many gourmet features, but it does not have a milk island available like most of it's competitors do. If you don't mind frothing your own milk then the milk island makes no difference, but if you are in a hurry and just need to turn a knob and have the machine perform the automatic frothing I suggest looking at a Saeco or Rancilio super automatic espresso unit.
