Blendtec HP3A to K-tec Champ Comparison:
This Blendtec HP3A Blender replaces the old K-tec HP3 Champ Blender model. K-tec and Blendtec have always been the same parent company, but K-tec was their home side, and Blendtec was the commercial side. A couple years ago they merged the two names and the K-tec Champ HP3 now goes under the Blendtec name. The Blendtec HP3A blender is the same as the K-tec HP3 Champ except for that it has a new improved carafe, different blending cycle navigation, and the face plate appearance changed, and 25 instead of 30 preprogrammed cycles. The K-tec HP3 Champ is no longer available from the manufacturer.
Blendtec HP3A Home Blender vs Blendtec Total Blender Comparison:
- The Blendtec Total Blender and Blendtec HP3A Home Blender use the exact the same motor.
- The Total Blender has only 9 worded buttons instead and is not programmable, the HP3A has 25 Cycles programmed into it.
- The Total Blender costs considerably more, plus you have to pay tax and shipping on this item.
- Bottom Line: The Blendtec Home Blender (HP3A) is a lot more blender for the price!

Frequently Ask Questions:
Click Here For Frequently Ask Questions On The Blendtec Home Blender
Will the Blendtec Home Blender blend vegetables and fruits into drinkable liquids?
Yes. The Blendtec Home is not an extractor, so you may need to add liquid or ice to reach the consistency you desire.
Can I make hot soup in my blender?
Yes, if you are willing to run the blender for 3-4 minutes to allow the friction inside the jar to create heat. Not the most efficient use of energy. A better method is to add boiling water to the jar, blend, then serve or blend and then heat in the microwave in a suitable container.
Can I grind seeds such as flax seeds, or nuts to make nut butter?
Yes, the Blendtec Home Blender will grind seeds and nuts into powder. You may want to add additional oil to the powder to get a buttery consistency.
Can the Blendtec Home Blender make flour from dry grains?
The "Speed" Key can turn the Home Blender into the ultimate grinding and milling machine. You can grind the hardest of whole wheat into a fine flour in under 50 seconds. It will also grind to a cracked flour consistency or stone ground flour consistency.
Can the Blendtec Home Blender make fruit juices?
Yes, this blender will make wonderful "whole" juice containing all of the rich desirable fiber of your fruit. If you use a fruit with a low water content, then you may need to add an additional fruit with a high water content or add additional liquid or ice to obtain the proper consistency of drinkable juice. Use the Speed Key at level 5 or 6 when making "whole" fruit juice if you desire a very fine and smooth texture to your "whole" juice.
Can the Blendtec Home Blender make "Frozen Fruit" Smoothies?
Yes, this blender is the only smoothie machine of its kind that can handle frozen fruit.
Can the Blendtec Home Blender make Ice Cream?
Yes, the Home Blender makes wonderful soft serve ice cream. Any Smoothie recipe can be quickly turned into a regular ice cream, low-fat / no-fat ice cream or soy ice cream simply by adding cream, non-dairy creamer or a soy milk along with extra ice to the regular smoothies recipe. Many recipes available in the book.

Excellent blender - bad lid design Review by Guest
This Blendtec is my first high-quality blender. I use it for whole juices mostly, also some smoothies and various other things. It's awesome for whole juices - sometimes have to run the cycle 1.5 to 2 times, but I don't have a problem with that. When I make smoothies, I use whole frozen fruit, and I have to run that cycle twice too. However, I don't mind that, because most blenders wouldn't even be able to come close to handling whole frozen chunks of fruit. And I have the Wildside jar, which I like well enough, though I don't have much of a blender history to compare it to. I will say that in my opinion, it doesn't "suck" the foods down to the blades as well as more conical jars do. I find I have to stop and push things down with a spatula quite a bit. But, my biggest complaint about the blender is the lid. Apparently it is a new design, and there are open sides on the middle piece of the lid which were put there to vent hot foods without having to just put the lid on loosely as with the previous design. Well, food/liquid totally flies out of these holes, and a lot gets stuck up in the lid and wasted. It also makes it more of a pain to clean, though that part I could live with if it wasn't wasting my food! Wish I could just buy an old style lid. Maybe I'll find one on eBay or something. Amazing Blender! Review by Guest
I bought this for my husband, but find I use it more than he does. He like to make soups. I use it for green smoothies everyday. We also use it for fruit smoothies, peanut butter, salsa, grinding nuts, and discovering new things to do with it. This Blendtec is a REALLY GREAT BLENDER! (Posted on 5/14/11)
A Little Disappointed Review by Guest
While I do think that this HP3A blender is better than most out there, I have been a little disappointed over the last few months. If you use too much frozen fruit for your
smoothie, it will bog down sometimes, and occasionally overheat. When making
fresh almond butter as in the directions, it overheats at times (did it today on
me), so you have to wait several minutes for it to cool down before finishing
it. I am glad that I purchased the 3 quart container - very useful for bulk
smoothies (there are 8 pp in our family). I also used it last summer to process
garden tomatoes into spaghetti sauce. This Blendtec home blender is a very helpful piece of kitchen machinery for that. Overall, because of the 3 qt container, I opted to keep it instead of selling it for a Vitamix, but I'm torn between giving it a 3 or 4 rating because of the overheating problem. (Posted on 5/11/11)
Love the blender and customer service - bad jars Review by Guest
I've had to return two of the blender jars and am on my third in just the first year. Totally love the blender and Blendtec's service is top-notch. But I am worried that the jars won't last. So far they have honored the warranty and treated me like gold though. Otherwise the Blendtec HP3A blender is pretty awesome... (Posted on 5/9/11)
Excellent! Review by Guest
This HP3A Blendtec blender is amazing, we don't use it for 1/10th of what we should use it for, but its amazing how well it does. I wish we had bought one of these years ago instead of doing the whole, buy - disappoint - break cycle with the other "fancy" blenders we have owned. (Posted on 5/9/11)
Blendtec HP3A HANDS DOWN Review by Guest
The Blendtec HP3A is hands down the only blender you will ever need. With the new 96 oz blender jar with 4 inch blade you have a combination that can't be beat for blending. This new larger jar is exactly what Blendtec needed to add to their already powerful motor base and together this blender combo is unstoppable. You can't even imagine a blender could do to whole foods what the Blendtec blender does. From crushing ice, to ice cream and extra smooth smoothies, either green or fruit flavored, this Blendtec blender does it all; and did I mention soups! You need not waffle any longer in your quest for the perfect blender combo, in fact, it is available for your immediate blending pleasure today. (Posted on 3/20/10)
