Q: When making hummus, nut butters, muffin / cake mixes should the wet or dry jar be used?
A: Per Vita Mix you may use either jar for these purposes. The dry blade container is great for making your own flour and when making bread to knead the dough.

Q: I am a little disappointed with my dry mix container. I tried to make coconut and almond flour but it ends up clumping on the sides and is not fine enough. It may be my error but is it better to put more or less product in the container at a time.
A: I have made peanut butter and other nut butters before, and if you use roasted nuts, they will turn to nut butter before they ever turn into flour. If you want more of a flour, or meal, I personally would use raw almonds, and add your coconut to that, and I think you will be fine after that. Roasting brings out the oils, which is probably causing your issue.

Your dry blade container will pit and/or cloud as well, but at least it will only be in the container you use only for grinding, and not in your everyday container.

Q: How do I grind coffee beans? How much at a time? Thanks. Love my Vitamix.
A: Fill the jar half way or less with whole coffee beans, then turn it on, increase from speed 1-10 on your variable speed control, switching to hi, and stop when you reach desired consistency. For toggle units, please just start low and switch to hi. I called Vitamix, and in the owner's manual, it states not to grind it more than 2 minutes (due to the heat generated in the product itself).

|
Q: I bought small jar with dry blade with intent to use for everyday smoothies (for two) and dry nuts sometimes. Is it ok to use dry blade for
wet things also?
A: This 32 oz. Dry Grains container is perfect for processing dry grains into fresh flours. Vitamix engineers designed its blades to perform this process impeccably. However, Vitamix does state that this jar would not be ideal for best results when blending wet ingredients such as making smoothies. When making smoothies it is always best to use a wet blade container.
