Dry Blade VitaMix Blender Container - 15845

Vita Mix Eastman Tritan 32oz Dry Blade Container w/ Lid

Vita-Mix Dry Blade Blender Container

Vitamix Eastman Tritan Dry Blade Blender Jar w/ Lid  (Model # 15845)

This Vita Mix Home Blender jar is specially designed for grinding grain and kneading bread dough. The Wet Blade container that is included with most Vitamix blenders can still grind grain and knead bread dough but the dry blade blender jar does a more efficient job at these tasks. Included with this dry blade container is the Whole Grains Cookbook which contains recipes for breads, cereals, and desserts.

*For use with the Vitamix Home model blenders 4500 Blender, Vita-Mix 5000 Blender, Super 5000 Blender, 5200 Series Blenders, and Vitamix CIA Professional Blenders. Also can use with the Pro 200, Pro 300, Pro 500, Pro 750, VM0103 and Vitamix Creations Series Blenders.

Vita Mix Dry Blade Blender Jar Features:
  • 32 oz container
  • Great for grinding grains for flour and coffee beans
  • Perfect for mixing dry ingredients and kneading doughs
  • BPA-FREE blender jar and lid
  • 2 part vented lid
  • Whole grains book included
  • 3 year VitaMix warranty
  • Height: 9.8 in
  • Laser-cut, stainless-steel dry blades

The 32 oz Eastman Tritan Dry Blade Container can fit on some Commercial models including the Turbo Blend models, and Vita Prep 3 commercial blender models, but this can void the jar's warranty as it is meant for home use only.

    • Yes, the dry blade container includes the blade, and lid. I called Vitamix and they said that they do not offer a 5 year warranty, but rather it is 7 years, if bought packaged with your Vitamix, and 3 years if bought seperately, so if you buy this by itself, it will have a 3 year warranty.

    • How do I grind coffee beans? How much at a time? Thanks. Love my Vitamix.
    • Fill the jar half way or less with whole coffee beans, then turn it on, increase from speed 1-10 on your variable speed control, switching to hi, and stop when you reach desired consistency. For toggle units, please just start low and switch to hi. I called Vitamix, and in the owner's manual, it states not to grind it more than 2 minutes (due to the heat generated in the product itself).

    • I bought small jar with dry blade with intent to use for everyday smoothies (for two) and dry nuts sometimes. Is it ok to use dry blade for
      wet things also?
    • This 32 oz. Dry Grains container is perfect for processing dry grains into fresh flours. Vitamix engineers designed its blades to perform this process impeccably. However, Vitamix does state that this jar would not be ideal for best results when blending wet ingredients such as making smoothies. When making smoothies it is always best to use a wet blade container.

    • Why isn't the tamper included with the dry container/blade? I think everyone needs one to use this properly. I was extremely disappointed that I didn't find it in my boxes.
    • Vita Mix does not include the tamper with the Dry Blade Container as a package. The tamper is not needed usually when blending dry ingredients because you will not experience the air pockets like when blending wet ingredients.

    • Can dry grains be used in the wet container?
    • Yes, they can be ground in the wet container, but they will grind more finely in the Vitamix dry blade container as this has a blade specifically for grains, and this will also avoid pitting the sides of your wet container. Your dry blade container will pit and/or cloud as well, but at least it will only be in the container you use only for grinding, and not in your everyday container.

    • I am a little disappointed with my dry mix container. I tried to make coconut and almond flour but it ends up clumping on the sides and is not fine enough. It may be my error but is it better to put more or less product in the container at a time.
    • I have made peanut butter and other nut butters before, and if you use roasted nuts, they will turn to nut butter before they ever turn into flour. If you want more of a flour, or meal, I personally would use raw almonds, and add your coconut to that, and I think you will be fine after that. Roasting brings out the oils, which is probably causing your issue.

A Must-Have For Full Utility of Your VitaMix Review by

Rating
5

The VitaMix is an extraordinary kitchen tool. People often mistake it for a powerful blender or a replacement for a food processor, but it really is a separate kitchen tool. The Vitamix is costly, and you will likely use the liquid container far more than the dry container unless you make artisan breads or have very special dietary needs, but if you've already invested in a VitaMix you might as well get the dry container to get the full utility your VitaMix blender has to offer. I use my dry container to grind almonds and shredded unsweetened coconut into flour for my low carb diet at a huge cost savings over buying the flours pre-made. It is the only tool I am aware of for the home kitchen that can truly grind ingredients into flour. The secret to successfully using the Vitamix dry blade container is to only grind about a cup of the ingredient at a time and stop as soon as you reach the desired consistency. Everything Kitchens had the best price at the time I bought the dry container and delivered the item promptly. I also recommend purchasing the cover that Everything Kitchens sells for Kitchen Aid stand mixers. It fits the VitaMix nicely with either the liquid or dry container in place and makes your kitchen Countertop look nice and tidy. One other tip, if you have a VitaMix, look into the world of green smoothies. They will change your life! (Posted on 6/16/11)
