Q: Do you have an ice crusher that chops ice cubes into pieces? I am not necessarily interested in one that shaves ice.
A: Yes, the IC70 will crush ice into pieces. It does not shave ice.

 Junk! -
It ran quietly and made the perfect size pieces of ice. In less than a week it stopped working. The motor still ran, but it would not chop ice.

Works great but fails prematurely -
This ice crusher works great, like someone else said, you have to be careful how you feed it, otherwise it will jam.
The problem is that they don't last long enough, we are on our 4th one. The first one failed in 13 months, the second one lasted 14 months and the third one lasted a little longer, 24 months.
We have an ice maker which makes smaller "cubes" we are not feeding them large cubes. The first 3 were being used 3-4 times a week. This last one that failed was being used less, 1-2 times a week at most since our schedules have gotten more complicated. That is why I think this last one lasted longer.
I contacted Waring when the second one failed to see if they would do anything for us, but no luck, I got the usual "the customer is always wrong, you must be abusing the units"
Overall a good performer, but if you use it regularly, expect to spend $80 a year on them.

 Rugged Ice Chipper -
This is undoubtedly THE best built ice machine today, BUT it is slightly misleading. It does NOT crush ice, it chips it. My old ice crusher, which this one replaced made crushed ice so fine you could make snow cones from it for the kids. This one makes chips of ice, but it makes them very quickly. So if you're not wanting true crushed ice, this would be your best buy.
