Good Backup for Chinese Hotpot - I bought this higher wattage electric hotplate for Chinese hotpot. With a full pot of hot soup, this hotplate can maintain temperature. But, when meats or vegetables are thrown in the pot, the electric hotplate takes a few minutes to respond. A cheap butane stove is much faster for hotpot. I am using this hotplate as a backup to the butane stove since it has no fumes, is reliable, and easy to use. I recommend this hotplate for general use, but not for Chinese hotpot.

Best and most powerful electric stovetop - I have tested (and killed) 3 other stovetop's from GE and others that we bought from Walmart and Kmart. This Waring electric hot plate is the best, by far. Others take forever to cook, don't heat as much, and die after a few months.
