Customer Questions:
|
Q: Will this distiller remove radioactive materials?
A: Per Water Wise it depends on what is being removed but based on standard testing it
will remove radioactive materials that exist in water today. What you
have to remember is; if the concentrations in the water are high for
radioactivity, then the radioactive contaminants removed will be left
behind in the boiler; therefore the boiler will be radioactive.

|
Q: Does the Water Wise 1600 water distiller require filters or any other consumables?
A: The Water Wise 1600 Non-Electric Water Distiller does not require filters.

|
Q: per the question on radioactive materials. If the radiation is removed from the water but the boiler is then radioactive - what then?

g. harris -
This is a great distiller. it requires close watch, though, and keep your exhaust fan going over your stove as there's a lot of steam coming from it. The water on top evaporates a few times during the course of making a gallon, so you have to keep filling it up on top to make the water distill and so it doesn't run dry. The water just needs to boil for making distilled water. Great for when you've got no electricity or your electric one fails.

Waterwise Distiller 1600 -
What G. Harris above states is true. You must keep filling the water on top several times (requiring constant monitoring) and it takes over three hours to produce one gallon of distilled water. Yes, I make sure the cup inside is level and water can flow freely out, but have not yet produced a gallon in an hour after several tries. I now wonder how this water distiller can work over a camp fire or wood burning stove. I guess if this is all I have to use, I'll figure out a way, but am terribly spoiled by the electric distillers. All in all, I'll keep this non-electric water distiller for the day that I have no power & be grateful that I have it.
