    KitchenAid Flexible Edge Beater

The KitchenAid Flex Edge Beater scrapes the sides of bowl while mixing. This Kitchenaid Flex Edge Beater Fits both 4.5 qt and 5 qt tilt head Kitchenaid Stand Mixers. Compare this item to the "Beater Blade" made by a different company. Unlike the Beater Blade, this Kitchen Aid Flex Beater will not void your warranty, as it is made by Kitchenaid themselves. The Kitchenaid Flex Beater also has a flex edge on only one side of the beater to avoid premature wear on your Kitchenaid Mixer head.

Have you ever had to stop mixing to scrape the edge of your bowl with a spatula to ensure even mixing? This Kitchenaid flexible edge beater was designed by Kitchenaid to help with this problem. It scrapes the sides of the bowl as you mix, making sure that everything is mixed well without having to stop.

Kitchen Aid Flex Edge Beater Features:

    • Faster ingredient incorporation
    • Dishwasher safe coated metal.
    • Fits both 4.5 qt and 5 qt tilt head Kitchenaid Stand Mixers, including models starting in: KSM1, K45, K45SS, KSM75 KSM90, KSM95, KSM100, KSM103, KSM110, KSM120, KSM15, KSM16, KSM150, KSM150A, KSM151, KSM151PS, KSM152, KSM155, KSM160A, KSM158, KSM8, KSM9, KSM96m, KN15E1X, KSM85PS

      • A:  No, this will not fit the K5SSWH mixer. The Pourfect listed at http://www.everythingkitchens.com/pourfect-scrape-a-bowl-5-quart-bowl-lift.html does technically void the warranty from Kitchenaid, so I'd not recommend using the Pourfect unless you are already out of your warranty period.

    Awesome Kitchen Helper Review by

I bought this tilt-head flex edge beater for my Aunt who owns am at home bkery. She needed something to get the edges of the bowl clean and this defiantly did the trick. It's easy to attach and gets all of the batter mixed perfectly! I would highly recommend this product for any baker.

Flex Edge Beater Concerns Review by

I purchased this beater about four years ago as a replacement for my original standard beater, when the paint on the original started to crack and peel at the connection point. Recently, the scraper appears to be leaking an oily substance. When I first noticed the problem, I hadn't used my mixer in about three months. The beater was siting in the bowl. There was what appeared to be oil all over the scraper, and a puddle of it in the bottom of the bowl. I thought someone hadn't washed it properly, so I washed it and then used it. I made sure that I washed it, myself, this time to be sure it was done properly. I checked it a week later and found the oily substance on it again. This time I resorted to using my old beater. Thank goodness I kept it as a back-up! I don't know what that oily substance is, but I hope I didn't poison my family by using the beater. I will not buy another scraper style beater. I would also note that I had the same issue another reviewer noted. The scraper had a tendency to flip ingredients out of the bowl, but the splatter shield helped. I also found that the scraper never actually scraped the sides of the bowl. I have a 5 qt model. Perhaps it works better on the 4.5 qt model.

Use with the splatter guard. Review by

I bought the tilt-head flex beater thinking I wouldn't have to stop so often to scrape the edges of the bowl. Which it does. But some of the dry ingredients get thrown out of the bowl when mixing. Also, the liquids you pour in will also be thrown out. Much more than with the regular beater. I stopped the mixer & stirred the ingredients together. This helped a great deal. I do have the plastic splatter guard for the top of the bowl. Which I will use next time. The guard should cut down on splatter.

    Awesome! Review by

If you like making cakes this is definitely a must. You can whip up a cake and absolutely no time. You could also use it for cookies but I don't mind using the original flat beater for making cookies. This works great for frosting as well. And whether you look inside your metal bowl or outside of your glass bowl you can definitely see it scraping.

Paint on bottom of beater chipped off the 3rd time I used it Review by

I was excited to buy this beater on vacation sometime ago. We were then gone for 6 months and just had opportunity to use it now for the 3rd time. It seems to do a good job, but certainly need to use my shield when adding flour, etc. Today I noticed something white sticking out of one of my baked cookies. It didn't look like a possible egg shell and with further searching found out small pieces of the white paint had chipped off the bottom of the beater. That made me :(

Paint chipping, but works great Review by

The item works well and am otherwise happy with it. It does scrape the sides well, but does not scrape the center on the bottom of the bowl. However, the white coating is chipping off at the base, where it connects to the Kitchenaid. This worries me bc I obviously do not want paint chipping off into the food I am preparing.

It has a good design and scrapes the side of the bowl really well. I just wish it got the bottom of the bowl better. I'm constantly having to scrap up flour and butter from the bottom to get it to mix in.

Better than the regular one! Review by

My Hubby gifted me a Artisan Stand Mixer for my birthday/Christmas! The flex edge beater along with some other items were included as a bonus items. I love my mixer and I love the flex edge because it makes baking our weekly cookies a breeze and less messy! It scales the bowl and it's quicker to use this instead of the regular paddle because no stopping and scrapping is involved! Best invention ever!!!

    Love It Review by

I bought this so I don't have to keep scraping down the bowl , and I love it I don't if it's just me or what but I made a Whipping Cream Pound Cake and the batter had a different texture to it , it seemed lighter and a little fluffier than usual. Now I have to get second one for my other kitchen aid now.

    super convenient Review by

Not having to scrape the bowl anymore is just so convenient. people complaining about this making a mess are probably cranking up the speed right from the start. I bake 4-5 times a week consistently (cookies, cakes, tarts, bread, etc), and I have never had any issues like the ones that they described. You should always start the mixer on the lowest setting and when the dry ingredients are mixed a bit (and you want to slowly add them in, not plop all the dry ingredients at once, for even mixing), then you can crank it up to 2. For cakes, you shouldn't be using higher speed setting, because you don't want to form too much gluten by working the batter too much. The higher setting is meant for bread kneading. The standing mixer also come with a splatter guard, just in case, but I never use that. The only thing I don't like about it? I don't know if it's dishwasher safe, and I hate handwashing it. :(

Poor design, nice idea. Review by

What a mess this thing makes, took longer to clean up the area than it did to make the cake. The beater does scrape the side of the bowl but then it flings whatever it has scraped off everywhere. It does this at the stir setting, probably if you used the 10 setting there would be nothing left in the bowl. Big disappointment, would return it if I still had the paperwork. So if you do purchase this item keep your paperwork!

    Great product Review by

Purchased this along with the 5qt artisan. LOVE it. Not sure what happened with the other user but mine didn't splash at all. Definitely recommend this.

    Very Good Beater Review by

This Kitchenaid flex edge beater is amazing. I used it yesterday for making a no-bake cheesecake filling that has cream cheese in it. I normally find that the cream cheese sticks to the edge of the bowl and I have to get a spatula and scrape it back in a few times. With the flex edge beater, I didn't have to do any such thing! The mixer bowl didn't have a speck of cream cheese sticking to the side. This flex edge beater works by having a little rubber spatula on the edge of it that scrapes the bowl as it goes around. It is amazing. (Posted on 9/23/13)

Great if you want to repaint your kitchen with cake batter Review by

I bought one of these for my 7 qt mixer, one for my mom's 4.5 qt mixer, and one for my best friend's 5 qt. ALL of them have the same defect, they splash all of your ingredients out all over the kitchen. Great idea, poorly implemented.

    Great attachment! Review by

We received this free with the mixer we bought from Everything kitchens and would suggest it to anyone looking for another attachment to use in the kitchen. Really works great. (Posted on 8/16/11)
