    Customer Questions

Questions on Cuisinart Coffee on Demand Coffee Maker

      • Q:  Can this maker be purchased in red?
      • A:  The Cuisinart Coffee on Demand Coffee Maker is not available in red.
      • Q:  Is the boiler made of stainless steel or aluminum? Also, is it BPA-free?
      • A:  It’s a brushed chrome steel. It’s not aluminum. All Cuisinart plastic parts that come into contact with any food items or water are BPA Free.
      • Q:  I just started using (2 days now) your DCC-3000 coffee maker. So far I love it but the power cord on mine is at max 4-inches long. Your answer above to a FAQ states it should be 2 feet long. I don't want to break the unit by pulling on the cord -- so please advise. The 4-inches is crazy, I can't even plug it into the wall!
      • A:  Please contact Cuisinart directly at 800-726-0190 for technical assistance. They will be able to direct you on whether your cord is stuck inside the unit or if it was a defect.
      • Q:  Can I reheat the remaining coffee 'in the tank' by pressing the on/off button?
      • A:  This heats for a maximum setting of 4 hours (you can set the amount). There is no way to turn the heater back on after the maximum setting of 4 hours. You would have to run another brew cycle. Cuisinart says you could re-run the coffee back through the process without grounds to reheat, if you wanted to.
      • Q:  On the Cuisinart DCC-3000 Coffee On Demand, how many watts is this?
      • A:  I contacted Cuisinart and they said that Cuisinart does not have published wattage ratings for their Coffee Makers.
      • Q:  How hot (degrees) does the water get while brewing?
      • A:  The Cuisinart DCC-3000 brews the water to approximately 180-200 degrees.
      • Q:  Many reviews state that the power cord is too short. How long is the power cord?
      • A:  The power cord is approx. 2 feet long.
      • Q:  Is the coffee and water reservoir bpa free?
      • A:  All Cuisinart plastic parts that come into contact with any food items or water are BPA Free.
      • Q:  where can i purchase the charcoal water filters, as i am sure i will need to replace it eventually
      • A:  Replacement filters can be purchased in stores, by calling Cuisinart Customer Service, or at www.cuisinart.com.
      • Q:  How large a cup can you use with the DCC-3000?
      • A:  The drip tray on the DCC-3000 is removable; with the drip tray removed you
        can use a 6" cup.
      • Q:  Approximately how long will the reservoir keep 12 cups of coffee hot? Does it keep it as hot as the grind and brew thermal carafe?
      • A:  The Cuisinart DCC-3000 has a removable double-wall reservoir that keeps up to
12 cups of coffee hot for hours. Because the reservoir is double walled it will keep the coffee hot just as long as the thermal carafe.
      • Q:  I hate the gold tone basket style filter, machine came with a few paper filters, but I want more, any idea what size that is?
      • A:  I called Cuisinart and they said that they are #4 paper filters, which you should be able to get at the grocery store. I hope this helps!
      • Q:  A few years ago I purchased this coffee maker, I noticed black flakes in the coffee it was the reservoir plastic that was coming off due to the heat has that issue been resolved?
      • A:  Please contact Cuisinart directly. I am not aware of any recent issues similar to what you are speaking of. Please contact Cuisinart Customer Service at 800-726-0190.
      • Q:  excellent machine, but it drips. how do i stop the dripping. tried vinegar soak, etc. thx.
      • A:  It all depends where it is dripping from. If it is dripping from where the coffee comes out, then Cuisinart recommended that I tell you to take out the coffee reservoir, fill half way with water, and see if it is leaking where the coffee normally comes out. If it is, they said to push up the spring and let the water rush out, hopefully removing any debree that could have been causing this. If it is still leaking after that, then they said to call Cuisinart at 1-800-726-0190 with your model and serial number, and they can help you further.
      • Q:  I'm not sure if I should purchase the DCC-2000. What are the upgraded features of the DCC 3000 vs the DCC 2000?
      • A:  The DCC-2000 has been discontinued by the manufacturer. The DCC-3000 offers a clear, easy to see water reservoir. They have also changed the clock to the blue LCD that is easier to read. They both offer the same basic function just with a little bit different cosmetic design.
      • Q:  is this coffee maker made in the USA?
      • A:  The Cuisinart DCC-3000 is made in China.
      • Q:  Is the Cuisinart DCC3000 coffee maker an upgrade from the DCC2000?
      • A:  Yes, the Cuisinart DCC-3000 coffee maker is the replacement for the DCC2000.
      • Q:  When washing out the coffee reservoir many black flakes appear (all sizes)
Could this be coffee that has hardened inside the reservoir?
We use the Cuisinart DCC3000 often.
      • A:  Yes, it is possible that the coffee reservoir can be accidentally filled with dried coffee grounds if over filled.

got it for a gift and enjoyed cleaning coffee off my floors and counter Review by

leaks and drip if i make more than 7 cups of coffee. To many small unreachable areas that can not be cleaned. U kept it in a box for the first year i had it and used it for a table in my small suit i rent. it was more useful as a table. (Posted on 11/26/16)

    Burned out!! Review by

We had a different model, it burned out. Seeing "Good" reviews for this model we invested the high $$ 'Sure' that they realized the issues with the old one and fixed it. NOT SO LUCKY. Not even a year into this investment, the top is warping from the steam, due to poor design or lack of insulation in the casing? the clock cannot be programmed, and the last time we "cleaned" it (using the clean button) following the directions as always, the maker is now 'stuck' on clean mode. It takes almost a 1/2 hour to brew coffee. I would expect higher standards. How does that saying go? make a bad product that fails in a year, dummy me. I will never buy a Cuisinart Brand anything again. Cheap quality, breaks down and burns out. I am wary of any brand that insists you fill out a "warranty" card. If you stand behind your product and manufacture it to last, you wouldn't need a warranty card. (Posted on 11/23/12)

    coffee maker leaks Review by

bought this 4 months ago. Started noticing coffee in tray when we woke up. Once the coffee is made there is a slow drip. It also leaks from the inside into the drip tray. (Posted on 10/18/12)

Liked older model better Review by

I liked the older model better. The new model has a very short power cord. We have to use an extension cord to plug in the coffee maker on our countertop! Even after cleaning it out several times, the coffee tastes like plastic. We took it back. Too bad. We loved the older model! (Posted on 4/26/12)

nice coffee on demand Review by

    Coffee Drinker Review by

I purchased this coffee maker to replace the DCC 2000 model. The DCC 2000 model would leak on the counter and make a mess, this replacement model is much better constructed and doesn't leak!! I'm hoping the new and improved model will last for some time....... (Posted on 10/16/11)
