I've been using one of these teapots for years, they are a good quality pot. Review by

I've been using one of these teapots for years, they are a good quality pot. They're made in China and carry several monika's, including Frieling and Avanti. So, here's the drum:
They make a great cup of tea, but make a full pot every time so that the leaves in the basket get covered and can diffuse.
Pre-warm the pot with half a cup of boiling water - then dump it before making your tea.
Always use a tea cosy as soon as you've added the boiling water - then the tea can steep properly.
Yes, the pot can be put on the gas or electric stove to warm up your tea if it's cooled down (it's not made to be put on an external heat source, etc. ... that's rubbish, this is the type of teapot to do that. But, it's not a kettle, so I don't recommend it for boiling your water.
Don't try to clean the inside of your teapot; it's only the tannins from the tea that stain the surface. These will not affect the quality of your brew.
If you must clean the basket, then sit it in a cup of bleach and water solution until the stains are removed. It will not affect the metal, but rinse it really well afterwards.
The only other critical element is the quality of your loose tea leaves. And that's the quest and joy of the tea connoisseur.
Enjoy and if you don't know how to make tea, go to your search engine and find a "recipe" that suits.
It's not rocket science, but it must be done right. (Posted on 7/21/15)
