Solved all my slow cooker problems Review by

I have been stymied for years with inconsistant roasts in my slow cookers. All too often the meat was overcooked with no flavor due to the low setting still being too high and essentiall boiling the meat. This slow cooker has solved that problem. I can set it at 200 degrees and 4-6 hours later have a fabulous succulent pot roast. I do not use the sear feature. I have no interest in that as I always sear my meat in a cast iron skillet. My best recipe is beef bourginon.

Simmer function not adjustable for high altitude Review by

I bought this last year. Works well enough but problem is I live at high altitude 5000ft. The preset simmer function is a rolling boil at 210F. Wish I could adjust down 5 deg or so but customer service says sorry not able to do it. Need to avoid using any preprogrammed modes using simmer.

We rated this as a 5 for the convenience and the easy clean up. The only negative comment is that there are some slight chips on the surface of the insert.

I've only had this appliance a little over a week but I'm in love. It is so easy to use and I love the metallic look of it. It's a lot bigger than I anticipated but its super light. I love how after it cooks it will keep your food warm.

Everything I could want Review by

I've had this for almost a month. It replaced a 4qt crock pot, a rice steamer and a yogurt maker. I have used most every feature except the stir tower. The only thing I would change is I wished I had purchased the next size up. Love everything about this.

Sharp looker, great cooker Review by

I'd been thinking about getting a slow cooker for a while, so when I started shopping, I was delighted to find this model from KitchenAid. It steams and braises as well as slow cooks, and the attractive round stainless steel kettle shape is easier to store in my cabinets than a more oblong cooker would be. The integrated handles and spout on the removable cooking container are nice touches, and the non-stick surface performs well. The controls are nicely integrated, have good visibility, and are reasonably intuitive and easy to use.

    Beautiful! Review by

I love using this multi-cooker as a crock-pot. Our first pot roast dinner was awesome! Unfortunately, the cooker did not arrive with a cookbook or directions for cooking in other ways. A cookbook was promised after we registered the multi-cooker. We still have not received the book. Also, the cooker is quite large so be prepared to find a big cupboard to store it in...or display it on the countertop as we are doing. It truly is beautiful...but wish we had more ideas of what and how to cook with it. Also, there are already a couple of scratches on the bottom of the pot, after cooking one meal in it. Perhaps it is the rice cooker that came with the pot and is stored in the pot that is scratching it. We used only silicone utensils to remove our first/only meal from the cooker.

It's the little things Review by

I purchased this when my other Crockpot gave out. I started out with the intention of purchasing an All Clad, but became intrigued with this Kitchenaid product. I ultimately chose the multicooker because of the increased functionality. I have only utilized the rice and slow cooker functions at this point, and both worked like a charm. I do love the visual design and the fact I can leave it on the counter. I intend to purchase the stir tower in the near future. I have not experienced any bowl lining flaking. I do only hand wash and only use silicone tools.

Works well, but paint on the pot comes off aftersecond use!! Review by

I bought this about two months ago, I am a loyal Kitchen Aid costumer (My whole kitchen appliances are Kitchen Aid) I love the quality of their products. I have to admit that this slow cooker was a disappointment... It works well but the paint on the bottom of the pot started to come off after the second I time I used it... For this price I think KitchenAid should fix this issue with the pot...

    Great product Review by

I've used this multi-cooker several times in the 3 weeks that I've had it and it's performed really well. Much easier to use than I thought it would be. The soup setting is excellent and it walks you through the steps of the process. Homemade applesauce came out great. The rice setting was a little disappointing. It came out dry and was just starting to burn on the bottom at the end of the cycle. I can make better rice on the stovetop with a regular pot. Other than that small complaint, I love it.

Follow-up review for Multi Cooker (1st review Nov 3, 2015) Review by

I was quite happy when Kitchenaide offered to replace my chipped interior pot. BUT SADLY the newer one has also failed... ANOTHER CHIP ON THE FINISH. I have exercised extreme care when using this new pot (No more than 6 times, silicone utensils and hand washing!). I own other Kitchenaide appliances large and small and am SOOO disappointed in the QUALITY of this item!!! I sure wish I had returned this pot after first fail!

    Fantastic Appliance!! Review by

I bought the KitchenAid Multi-Cooker three weeks ago and I have used it a minimum of 3/week since then. I have used every function except the one for risotto and I have to say, I am totally IMPRESSED. I have been eyeing this multi-cooker since it was introduced and I am so glad I finally bought it. I love it!! This appliance does everything it is advertised to do with such great results. Being able to sear and saute in the same pot is a definite plus. Additionally, the learning curve needed to operate the unit is very low, even for those who may have trouble following instructions.

I Have Almost Forgotten that I Have a Stovetop Still Review by

After a year of fawning over it, I received the Multicooker for Christmas from my boyfriend. I downloaded the ecookbook and started following Kitchenaid on Pintrest to get some ideas and have been using it non-stop since. So far I have made four official Kitchenaid recipes: lamb stew, pot roast, chocolate pudding, and peanut butter granola. But with all of the settings and temperature control, it is super easy to adjust other recipes and the Multicooker makes everything faster and easier to make. (Easy poached eggs? Yes please.) The Multicooker now has a perminent spot on my counter for daily use. I might love it more than my boyfriend, but whose keeping score?

Best appliance in our kitchen... Review by

This is the best appliance in our kitchen, it is the most versatile! A one pot clean-up. It does a better job of cooking rice than any rice cooker we've ever owned! It's so much better than any crockpot we've used, including high end ones. Brown meat, cook noodles, make sauce and put it all back in the pot and keep at the perfect temp till ready to eat AND then wash one pot! Wonderful....

    Dinner made simpler! Review by

This has taken my cooking to a whole new level! I usually make dinner while my kids are doing homework and I'm trying to wrap up my work day. It's crazy time! So, I'd gotten away from cooking and was making quick serve (unhealthy) food. With the multi-cooker, though, I'm able to make my favorites again! I can throw in a few ingredients, set a timer and do homework or whatever, throw in the rest and 20 minutes later it's dinner time! The family is thrilled and so am I. This is my favorite new appliance!

Excellent appliance for a non-cook! Review by

My son has one of these cookers, and I picked one up on sale. My wife thought we might gift it, but I opened it while she was gone and was able to cook one of the recipes in the cookbook (separate download). I do not cook. All ingredients were prepped on wax paper, and because the multi-cooker takes the place of multiple implements, there was literally nothing to clean up except the cooker and the knives! That's my kind of cooking!

    Great concept Review by

I would love my multi cook except for one thing, there are no detailed instructions on using the features and no recipes to familiarize yourself with all the features. The registration says to make sure to register the product so you can download the e-cookbook, but there is no link to get to the book to download it. usually a new kitchen product comes with enough guidance and recipes to learn how to get the full potential out of the product. This one failed in customer user information.

Insert Flaking and Pitted after one use Review by

On functionality, I would rate a 5. However, I used this one time for Risoto, hand washed the insert with soap, water and a sponge. I put it away and today when I took it out to cook something for Thanksgiving found pitting a flaking. I am going to use a liner, but I can't use a liner when I use the stir tower. I shouldn't have to purchase a new insert, since I just got this in September and used it only once. I am very disappointed in KitchenAid

Much better than a slow cooker Review by

    Sold on this Review by

I am a slow/rice/multi-cooker skeptic. I've had great experiences (Sanyo), annoying experiences (Sanyo having discontinued the inserts for my ancient rice cooker. C'mon people you build these things to last, let me have a new insert!), and outright miserable experiences (Aroma with two utterly useless multi-cookers.) So I ordered the KitchenAid with fingers crossed because after 15+ years the old cooker was creaking and the insert was shot. Wow. I mean it, just wow. This is some terrific multi-cooker. It does exactly what it's supposed to do, it has phenomenal flexibility, it heats up fast, and once it's turned off it cools down fast as well, so that within 10 minutes of turning it off, I can handle the insert without pot holders. It's fantastically easy to clean, it has a pour spout -- why did no one else think of a pour spout?? -- the ceramic coating is so utterly non-stick that I could chase a fried egg around the bottom trying to corner it. Specifically, I love the sear and sautee settings. Other cookers promise those features without remotely delivering, but the KitchenAid does exactly what it says it will do and does it well. The first thing I made in the pot was Salisbury steaks, and the sear on each side took exactly 3-minutes and was beautifully caramelized and crusty, and added great depth of flavor to the finished product. I can't wait to try caramelizing onions in this thing. The only drawback for me is that I'm finding the controls a little counter-intuitive. I keep thinking I've set the thing properly and can walk away, but I'll come back an hour later to stir and find the light flashing. It's on, it's hot, but the timer isn't counting down. It's a small thing and it's up to me to learn how to set it. I love the retro look of it, as if it's been sent forward in time from some mad scientist's lair in the thirties. All things considered, I think I can uncross my fingers now.

My son bought this for me as a gift. Best gift ever! I have used it several times already. It bakes, simmers, boils, steams, and you can work it like a crock pot! The clean up is quick and easy, and the pot hold quite a lot! It's simple to use, and the best part is my house doesn't heat up the way it does if I use my oven. I love this kitchenaid product.

Non-Stick Simplicity with Sophisticated Taste Review by

I recommended this cooking treasure to a foodie friend who promptly purchased one for herself and gifted another to me. I love the cooking features and plan to expand the family by investing in the auto stirrer for risotto cooking and other. Only issue so far is a more direct method for manual override (without timing out or turning off the cooker!) to ensure proper simmer temperatures are achieved depending on the type of recipe used. I found that the auto simmer temperature was not hot enough for my Bolognese sauce. I do wish there was a more extensive Kitchen Aid cookbook available for use with multi-cooker specific recipes. I am sure I will figure it out, this is a great product.

Best purchase I have ever made! Review by

This product is phenomenal! I use it for everything, but especially love making soup. My nutritionist recommended that I take soup to work for lunch everyday as a simple, healthy solution to combat my busy schedule, so I make soup twice per week using my Multi-Cooker and use a personal Crock-Pot to rewarm my soup on the go.

Easy Meals with this Appliance Review by

We purchased the multi cooker a few weeks ago and I love it. Everything turns out perfect and the best part is I only have to clean one pan. The even temperature cooking makes for deliciously flavoured meats and dishes. It looks great on my counter too so there's no need to put it away after each use.

    absolutely fabulous! Review by

First off all, don't consider getting this without getting the stir tower. This appliance should automatically come with the stir tower-no sense in getting it without that feature. I am now cooking things I never wanted to make because of the time involved or the need for constant stirring. The ability to control the temperature is a huge plus as well. No more guessing. This keeps steel- cut oatmeal from boiling over and makes perfect gourmet Mac and Cheese. Risotto is a breeze, soups and chili so easy and no splattering when searing meats. Only had it for 2 weeks and have used it almost every day. I now have withdrawals when I'm not cooking with the multi-cooker. LOVE this appliance!

    My investment Review by

I bought this from qvc earlier in the year. I used it twice and noticed that it had scratches. This bothers me greatly due to the fact that i gave heard over the years about non stick pans becoming toxic if scatched or flaking. I have tried to look for a replacement part but the ones I have found where over 100$. I already spent a fortune on the machine and connecting stir. Just disappointed that now i will have to wait until i can find a new pot insert from kitchen aid or a third party that i can afford.

    Disposable Review by

Used once. Slow cooked a pork shoulder with a few powdered spices and now the thing reeks over a week later. Seems like its smelling more and more each day too. Immediately after making the pork shoulder I properly soaked the black pot insert and washed it generously with dish soap to ensure everything off. What gives. Is this a ploy to make people buy replacement parts?

    Poor Quality Review by

Purchased 2 multicookers in December for me and my mom as a holiday present and was hoping to enjoy every feature but unfortunately, I am very much disappointed. The insert bowl got scratched right away (both mine and my mom's); the tempt display of my mom's device stops working occasionally and mine cooker temp and time setting got frozen occasionally. Was hoping that for this price I would get a great quality appliance.....(I have kitchen aid stand mixer and I am extremely satisfied with it). Also the bowl is too deep and round....not convenient for use and is not able to sauté evenly large amount of meat. Moreover, the display buttons are made of plastic and after being touched by hot surface was immediately ruined! Highly dissatisfied! Would not recommend that product to anybody for this price!

    Love it Review by

Thought on no here I go buying another appliance. But once I actually spent time using it, amazing. I love to cook but due to some health limitations I can't stand as long as I use to be able too. That and being a busy person who likes to bulk cook and prepare for my paleo lifestyle, i need to so some major weekend cook a thons sometimes. Just finished preparing 3, 8 serving diff recipes without having to stand for hours. Italian meat sauce to service over zucchini pasta with the stir attachment and low coo, feature for 3 hours, sausage and peppers with all sautéing being done with stir attachment again. And boiled up 2 dozen jumbo shrimp. Feel like I only spent minimal time and even cleanup is nothing. Great purchase.

I LOVE THIS APPLIANCE! Review by

I love this kitchen appliance. The 4 quart multi cooker is amazing. I can cook my spaghetti from beginning to end in it. I brown my beef, sauté my onions and mushrooms, then add my tomatoe sauce and simmer. I just change the settings and it adjusts as needed. Crockpot cooking is aces too. I can brown my meat then add everything else and put it on slow cooker setting. The only pot I need!

I have a really tiny kitchen and I thought all of my countertop appliances were taking up so much room, so, I thought let's see if this multi cooker will work. Comprehensive Review by

I was looking for a normal crock pot when I saw this. It was the perfect size and have never had an appliance. When I got home I noticed the big bonuses. It boils eggs, steams vegetables and a lot more. It also looks great!! The control buttons are so intuitive that I didn't need a users guide. There is absolutely no cons about this cooker. Kitchen Aid did it right again and they did it in retro style!!

The best multicooker available Review by

I bought this multicooker a couple of weeks ago and im very satisfied wth my purchase. I got an awesome deal on it and Im using it at least three times a week. The only thing I will recommend to the manufacturer is to give the customer the hability to adjust the temperature in the unit from 110 degrees to the max. Right now it does not let the customer adjust the temperature low enough to do sous vide in it and the multicooker has the posibility to do it if the program is changed.

Rice - Need more info on cook times Review by

I really like this multi-cooker - we make rice all the time but the pre-set settings for cook time is for one cup of rice - it would be nice to know what the manual settings are for more than one cup of rice - it did 55 minutes for 2 cups of rice and that worked but learned that 60 minutes for 2 cups of rice is too long as the bottom got burned. Other than this, I love it.

    very disappointed Review by

I was very happy with the multicooker--it did everything I wanted it to do, and looked wonderful on my counter. But after only a few uses, I noticed silver scratches along the top. The bottom of the bowl is now showing scratches as well. I have never used metal spoons and have babied this appliance since I got it. My Kitchenaid mixer and blender are both worthy of the name; I'm afraid this multicooker is not.

It replaced cooking on a cooktop! Review by

I won this multi-cooker and I wasn't sure what I was unwrapping but once I used it, I was hooked. I love that I can sear a pot roast then cook it in the same pot. No messy skillet to wash. Almost anything I could cook on the cooktop, can be done in the multi-cooker and I don't have to keep wiping down the cooktop. I've tried a couple of the recipes that I downloaded and they are real winners. I do wish that it had a real cookbook with it. When I go to a potluck, I just lift the bowl out, put on the lid and away I go. What a breeze to clean with the no-stick finish. The controls are easy to operate either manually or timed. This is the best thing I've ever won.

    Versatile helper Review by

I really did not need this appliance, it was gift, but now that I have it I find myself using it more than I thought. The electronics take getting used to as one has to stick around to monitor the different stages of cooking. I prepared risotto, oatmeal, different type soups, pot roast and a Bolognese sauce so far. Pot cleans easily and is lightweight. It just large enough for a family of 3 or 4. Gave it 4 stars because it is not perfect.

My favorite countertop appliance Review by

I received this Multi cooker for Christmas and now I use it everyday. For those of you who cook on a gas stove as I do will understand what an advantage it is to be able to put something in this pot to sauté or simmer, set the timer and walk away. I make soup, pasta sauces, fajitas and just about anything else that you routinely cook on your stove top. It cleans up very easy and the timer literally make it so that you can set it and forget it. I also love the keep warm feature.... It keeps it at perfect eating temp. I also love the way it looks on my counter.... A beautiful Candy apple red!

    Love this...BUT... Review by

Purchased this (with stir tower attachment) summer of 2015 and have used it many times. For the most part I love this cooker but have a few issues/concerns. Even though I use only silicone utensils, the insert has chipped. There is more chipping with each use and am concerned about flakes getting into food. On soup setting, cannot get cooker to advance to step two and three so once browning is done I must change setting to slow cook. I'm not sure if this is me or the cooker but have consulted manual and don't see any special instructions for this. Also, wish pot were larger than 4-quart and would like more recipes. I would recommend with reservations.

One stop cooking center replaces multiple units Review by

I read a very positive review in a magazine then found the Multi-Cooker with Stir Tower at an after holiday sale. The Multi-Cooker is worth every penny I spent and the Stir Tower is a must have accessory. I cooked Risotto on the white rice setting It didn't boil over, almost burn, like my rice cooker does. (Remember 3-4 liquid to 1 rice) I cooked oatmeal on the white rice setting then stopped it at 20 minutes. Much easier than a microwave at low power. I diced up potatoes left over from a holiday dinner and fried them up. I used the Stir Tower to continuously stir the potatoes and needed a lot less oil this way. I was able to start on Sear. Then precisely lower the temperature to keep the oil on the potatoes hot, browning them, but not too hot, so they didn't burn. I took some chicken stock and quickly made gravy. Started with Stir Tower, no heat, to blend the corn starch in. Then added heat to cook the gravy while it was being stirred. The cooking pot only has a Max line. It doesn't have unit markings so you need a cup to measure liquid being added. I am going to e-mail customer service to see if extra cooking pots are available - I didn't find them listed under Replacement Parts. The red matches the KitchenAid hand mixer we have had for years. When we got our KitchenAid stand mixer many years ago they were any color as long as it was white.
