Amazed with both efficiency and effective productivity Review by

Recently purchased my new Kitchenaid 14 cup food processor... it's initial use wowed both my wife and me. Not only does it do everything the brochure states but it does it quickly and quietly. Our first attempt at processing bread dough proved very successful. We'll never go back to dough hooks for small batches.

    Cooking for family Review by

Never tried KitchenAid cook book recipe and just out of the box processor: https://www.kitchenaid.com/images/global/promotions/1978100_FoodPro_COMPLETE.pdf Cooked recipe from page 92. This is a protest purchase because I have been without a chopping blade since December, 2016 with the Cuisinart recall and best estimate was June, 2017 before I would get a replacement blade. Was going to buy a replacement blade ... then I said to myself ... buy a new unit instead with all the bells and whistles, you deserve it. After preparing a hearty breakfast that used most of the accessories, here is my review. Since I liked the results, let's get the Cons out of the way first. Cons: The main lid has a groove/ring at the top where food collects, had to use a small plastic spatula to remove the food while rinsing it clean. Pros: The Dicing unit was pretty much hands free, minimal waste. The storage bin is very well organized and had no issues finding, selecting and removing what was needed. The Beast has plenty of power (it does have a big counter top footprint or as my Wife put it, Quit the prescience Hun). Will put it to the test next week and make nut-butter. I am totally wowed by the slicing adjustment on the outside of the Beast. Used, but didn't need to the smaller insert bowl (I think it is 4 cups) to chop the Serrano pepper, sliced green onions and garlic cloves. Did not leak into larger main bowl but did collect in main bowl groove/ring. The Beast is very quiet but did do an Irish Jig when a potato piece was flung to the side by the dicing blade, but it did catch and the blade finally diced the potato piece and it stopped dancing. Cleanup was easy, except the lid groove and wiped clean. Before using I ran everything through the dishwasher, no issues with warpage or cracking. The buttons: the Off button is not exactly centered, a little to the right but once found worked fine.

Love my new Food Processor Review by

This was a gift. Initial purpose for a processor was to make dog food. Works fabulously. Only 2 things I wish for, might be nice to have a larger feed tube and a less brittle plastic would be appreciated. The first day I was struggling to get the 2 in 1 food pusher out, when it finally popped out, hit the floor only to chip and crack. Went on the Kitchenaid web chat, explained what happened and should be receiving a replacement this week. In the future I will be more careful and treat the plastic pieces as fragile glass.

powerful, but has flaws Review by

I actually have 3 Kitchen aid food processors,[ very old 2 c, new 4 c w/ extra bowl, 14 c.,] this large one being the most expensive & does more chopping chores. My main problem is not with the power or ability to chop but, the amount of food wasted in the rim, design & weight!! Seems like kitchen aid could come up with a decent design where a quarter of my food doesn't become sludge to be dug out of the rim with every use [ or at least a decent tool to remove it!] Not to mention the appliance is extremely heavy & with all the attachments; a royal pain to store.[ need a separate cupboard just for attachments!!] Also with all those extra attachments, I have to get the book out with almost every use to see what center piece/spindle is required just to use certain discs....very heavy, complicated, wasteful, not in the least compact...While I have 2 kitchenaid stand mixers & several other appliances [ which I love] this 14 cup one & the new 4 cup model [ takes two men & a boy just to twist the lid off!] .. I should have saved my money ......While I return to Kitchenaid for strength & reliability... very disappointed with the ease of use, & quality of these two Kitchenaid appliances..........

    Unbelievable Capacity Review by

I love my KitchenAid 14 Cup Food Processor! It can handle large jobs as well as small jobs. It is so versatile and can do any kind of chopping, shredding, slicing, and even dicing! It can also make all kinds of dough. It is a great addition to any working kitchen.

We use it constantly! Review by

We love our food processor! It's much sturdier than our old one and it holds much more. Even my two-year-old can stand on a step stool and help me put things in safely and push the button without me having to worry about his safety. We use it when we're making soups, ratatouille, side dishes, casseroles, pretty much anything! We cook dinner every night in our house, so having a food processor is a must, and this one is fabulous. We use the dicing kit and the larger blade regularly, and the dough blade I use for pie doughs and the like. I absolutely LOVE this machine and I will never go without it again!

I make shakes for the entire week in this food processor and then freeze them in pint canning jars. The slicer works great for making potatoes au gratin.. The processor I used to use had too many moving parts, was hard to clean, and much louder than the KitchenAid processor.

This is a great food processor and dicing kit for any cook Review by

Bought this when I burned up my regular size one when making pimento cheese for gifts for Christmas. I love the larger size bowl and the ease that it slices, dices and chops. You don't have to be a Chef in a commercial kitchen to add this to your small appliances in your kitchen.

Disappointed in this purchase! Review by

I bought this product two weeks ago and have not had a good experience with it. After suffering through several issues, I made the decision to return it. That is easier said than done. First, KitchenAid's computers were down. I don't have a printer so I needed the return slip mailed to me which I was told I would not get it in time to return within the 30 day period. So, I seem to be stuck with a product that does not function as advertised and no way to return it all because I don't have a printer for printing the return label. Think long and hard before ordering from Kitchen Aid.

    Thoughtless design Review by

It chops, grates, and shreds ok. But it's difficult to assemble, and impossible to clean. Liquids leak out the center, and dough quickly trips the breaker circuit. I almost never use it.

    Early Birthday Present Review by

I received this food processor as an early birthday present this year :-) It's everything I could hope for and more. Using it is pretty intuitive (if you've had previous food processors) ... and the instruction manual is excellent. It looks good sitting on the counter and the two containers for blades and other tools stash away in the cupboard for easy access. I find it to be a LOT quieter than my previous food processor. Ease of use, dishwasher safe, and looks good on the counter ... what more could you ask for?

    Very happy! Review by

I hesitated buying this processor with the 14 cup capacity because I thought I'd never need one that large, but I'm so glad I did. The dicer is AMAZING! My husband stood waiting for me to get potatoes peeled so he could watch them get diced in a matter of a couple seconds. He couldn't stop there, he wanted all the fun of chopping the onions and celery and asked me what else I could make so he could keep having fun. Certainly is a huge time saver for us.

Received as gift 12/25/15 and finally noticed 9/29/16 the motor was running backwards. Had only used it a few times to chop for an almond bar recipe and thought it didn't really work well. It wasn't until I wanted to shred cabbage I saw it was running backwards. Kitchen Aid completely replaced with a new unit and now I am satisfied with the unit. Many attachments to do anything with. Really looking to use the dicer soon

Blade not so strong Review by

I bought this for my wife knowing the Kitchenaid brand ment quality, it took her a while to actually use it, so when my sister was showing her how it works the blade broke. I thought it was more dependable than that.

    source kitchenaid.com (Posted on 10/7/16)

All good except shredding Review by

In general this food processor does a decent job. We were not too satisfied with the shredding disc. The last piece of carrot, beet or cheese (or whatever else you are shredding) doesn't shred and gets stuck in the top of the machine between the shredding plate and the lid. We tried with narrower feed and same result. Our model did not come with the commercial hands free slicing but otherwise looks identical to this one.

    Great Food Processor Review by

I am in love with my new Food Processor. It does everything you need in the kitchen. The dicing kit is amazing. The exact slice is so helpful. The 14 cup processor is quite big and tall so one needs to make sure they have the space for it. The blade storage is big too and so amazing. I do not have to have blades all over the place. The quality is amazing.

Don't know how I got along before this food processor Review by

It took me a long time before I could let go of the money to buy this food processor. I am now preparing my dogs food and got tired of all the other food processors and I have bought many thinking they were the one that was going to make my life better when fixing her food, but not one of them would work. So I broke down and purchased this one and WOW I love it. It is on my counter and I use it at least twice a week. And that is just for preparing her food not counting the times I use it for our food processing. I don't know how I got along without this in my everyday life but am glad I have it now. Have had no issues with it. I just Love it.

    Food Processor Review by

I debated a long time about which food processor to buy to replace a Kitchenaid 7 cup that had worn out. I liked the idea of the dicing kit, but 14 cups is much larger than any processor I had previously owned. I do like the dicing kit, and I have used it several times. It works well, and I am happy with my decision. The smaller tube was one of my concerns, but it is larger than it appears to be. I put everything in the dishwasher, and I have had no problems.

Can't get the ctr piece apart from one of the slicing plate Review by

I have had the processor for well over a year but have never used any other parts other than just using the blade like a blender. Now that I want to venture out to do other things with it, I can't seem to find either another middle shaft that I can attach the shredder to, or get the one that's already attached to the slicing disc. I have watched numerous videos but non of them shows clearly how to detach a shaft from the blade plate. If someone out there knows please help? Thank you.

    Quiet Appliance Review by

I bought it in December and finally got a chance to use it mid-January. I made banana bread in it and when I creamed the sugar and shortening, the blade lifted up and was flopping about. I had to empty the bowl, clean it and reset the bowl and blade before I could continue. After adding wetter ingredients the blade did stay in place. This has happened twice now. I haven't use it for anything else yet.

Love this food processor! Review by

I have had this food processor for over 3 years now. I received it as a Christmas present. I love the large size of this food processor. I have used this food processor to make beer cheese, hummus, salsa and more. The all purpose blade is fantastic. I originally received the Ninja food processor and blender, hated it and decided to return and get this. Kitchenaid is the best and I do not receive anything for saying that. I absolutely love this product. pros: Can hold very large batches. The all purpose blade puree's food very evenly. Processes food in seconds. cons: Takes up lots of space in your kitchen. The blade can be very hard to clean. (They recommend that you wash the blade by hand, if a dishwasher safe blade was created that would only improve this product)

    Love this processor! Review by

I love this processor! I've had several surgeries on my hands and need a product to dice and slice. Since I use all organic fruits and vegetables, many of the root vegetable are extremely hard, and this processor makes the dicing/slicing so simple and fast! It seemed a little intimidating at first but, once I read the instructions, it was a piece of cake! The first one I bought had a defect in the safety mechanism causing it not to work periodically. I called the company and gave them the information and in a week I had a new one at my door! They sent me a return shipping lable for the defective one so it didn't cost me anything to return the defective item. The customer service lady was so friendly and helpful! I highly recommend this product! I will continue to buy Kitchenaid appliances in the future! Along with this food processor, I have a toaster, hand mixer, and the 1000 watt stand mixer, which I'm going to start adding attachments for further ease of food preparation!

Main drawback is small feed chute on this model Review by

This would be a 5 star food processor if it had the large feed chute of the 13 cup, 11 cup,9 cup and the 16 cup models. If I had known I would have bought the 13 cup and the dicer attachment separately. The food processor performs well but slicing could be better. Dicing works well. As for chopping, My Kitchenaid stick blender with chopping attachment does a better job of finely chopping vegetables (inluding moise ones) without starting to liquify or puree them then the food processor does. This is the first time I have been disappointed in a Kitchenaid Product. I own Kitchenaid several small AND major appliances!

    No Power Review by

I bought this food processor a year and a half ago and it not longer spins the blade in the large bowl. I make a lot of nut butters at home and this product just is not powerful enough and with everything plastic cannot hold up to the usage I need. I am very sorry I purchased this product. I wasted my money

Great Look and Features Review by

This is a replacement for an older model that quit working. I have found it to be a must have in this season of harvest. The dicing kit is a great feature to have.

    GREAT product, BUT... Review by

I've used this four times now and I like it more each time. It does everything it's supposed to, and the dicing kit is absolutely wonderful, once you figure out how to assemble it. (KitchenAid should put a this side up on the part that contains the blades). I particularly like the ability to choose the slicing thicknesses on the outside of the machine. The whole thing is well-made, heavy duty, easy to clean and I recommend it highly.

    Love It!!! Review by

Bought this because slicing and dicing take for ever after a hand injury several years ago. So glad I got this one that had the dicing kit.

    Great product Review by

I had bought a cheaper processor but it could not do the job. I bought one in 1999 and it is still going strong. I use it a lot to make my special son's pureed or baby food. I also used it to make my own baby food when my children were small. Saved me a lot of money and the food was all natural. No preservatives. My son is 18 now and with the the hard work it has gone through the container and handle are starting to crack. I still have to puree my son's food and just throw everything in at once and it mixes it altogether. Can make smoothies with frozen fruit and it tears it up. My parent's have always used KitchenAid products for over 60 years. As an adult I too have been completly happy. Thank you KitchenAid for making a great product.

Slicing and dicing are on point! Review by

I absolutely love my new food processor! it has already saved us money. We are using more vegetable in our house because it is so easy to slice or dice them. Plus the kids enjoy helping. I can easily prep them all so they get used before getting spoiled. Salads look so professional with all the veggies uniformly sliced!

Easy to use and works great! Review by

I have had this for a couple of months and love it. I wouldn't even look at another brand. This is the second Kitchen Aid food processor I have and would not even look at another brand. Their customer service is beyond excellence. Easy to talk to and happy to replace or repair any product they have. I have had an appliance from another company and it took months of dozens of calls, broken promises and ulcers before anything was done.

    hmmm Review by

I found the two twist on tops to be way to sensitive. If you don't catch it just right the machine wonn't turn on.

    amazing!!! Review by

We LOVE our new onyx black KitchenAid food processor! It works beautifully. The dicing kit is what drew us to this model. Yes, it is big-but it is powerful and efficient. There have been times in my food prep I have thought: do I really want to lug this out and wash everything to chop these veggies? But then I do, and I think: yes, yes I do!!! It is effortless and totally worth it. We made the decision to hand wash all our blades and bowls; I wear gloves when washing up (thankfully), and though I thought I have been very careful, have somehow got a cut in two different pairs of gloves when cleaning the different attachments, so that is something to keep in mind if you decide to hand wash-be careful! I LOVE this machine, and cannot say one negative thing about it. The support we received from KA customer service when placing our order over the phone was (eventually) wonderful, they treated us so well and really helped us to fine exactly the machine we were looking for, and we are so pleased with it's performance and results!

    Horibble dicing Review by

large pieces of vegetable get stuck on the rotating disc part of the dicing kit and the whole food processor starts to dance unless turned off. Even on the slicing disc there are bigger pieces stuck. So everytime we run the food processor, need to clean the disc intermittently. And it is not 3 in 1 feeding tube. it is 2 in 1!!

    Very bad design Review by

I have a lot of problems with the design of this appliance. The cleaning is a nightmare due to a lot of plastic ribs and grooves. Food gets stuck in the feeder and it is hard to wash out. Opening and closing is extremely difficult due to a rubber band that is sealing the cover but also making it too hard to operate. The way the blade is fixed in place is also a user's nightmare, since taking it out when you want to pour the content of the bowl is done by pulling hard on it, which causes spillage and again- mess. A simple task of making pie crust is not very easy with this one too. the flour and butter do not mix properly and the dough is not forming. The designers of this appliance did not make their homework. It is poorly designed and it is a vary bad buy. I hope I will get a response from the design team...

    love it! Review by

I bought this a couple of weeks ago, being interested in the dicing unit, having rarely used my Mom's old processor. I love it! At first I thought the dice was too large, but once I started to use it found out it is just perfect for most vegetables. The first night I had to try it with potatoes - zip, zip, zip - SECONDS! Onion - ZIP! Easy to clean. The variable slicer does tomatoes, firm ones, quite well and is really fun, as is the chopping blade. I never thought I could make potato salad in just a very few minutes (rough chopped the potatoes by hand - like larger chunks). fresh herb rubs take just seconds to make and so much easier to get it all out of the bowl than a blender. Will try my pie crust recipe this weekend. May even try making bread. The only draw back is that Kitchen Aid no longer includes a How To Make cookbook with it's products any more. Yes, They have one On Line, but really...I am too old to stay with a computer, cooking or printing up recipes. I am thankful that somewhere on the bookshelf is my Mom's old food processor recipe book with it's How To section. As far as the safety features go - great! I would rather have to re-set the bowl, lock the lid, than have a huge mess or worse. Always good to read the directions on assembly. Goes great with my Kitchen Aid 7qt mixer. I have been using Kitchen Aid mixers for way over 30 years. The OLD accessory attachments all work with the new mixer. My daughter has one of my old ones - over 17 years old and just starting to show signs of age.

Glad we bought it... Review by

I'd give it a 5 star review but for the fact that the dicing is half inch dices. Sometimes I need a smaller dice...

easy to use and does a great job Review by

I have the 13 cup unit but I purchased another one to get the dice and slice attatchement at a cheaper sale price then what I could buy just the attatchement for. I love it! I made potatoe salad in minutes and the potatoes were not huge chunks. The celery was larger then what I slice by hand but it wasn't to large for and a lot easier and faster. We do not eat a lot of processed foods or eat out much so this machine has saved me a lot of time in making our food. I also work a full time and a part time job so anything that makes my life easier is a plus.

Feature list is wrong Review by

This food processor does not have a 3 in 1 wide mouth feeder as listed. My processor came with a 2 in 1 feeder.

Too big and too many attachments to it. Review by

My daughter gave it to me in October have used it twice but don't care for it as too many attachments and too big plus the buttons not easy to push. I have another one (not kitchenaid) but smaller and like it much and not all the added attachments to it.
