Big Strong and Beautiful Review by

Had a kitchen 5qt for 25+ years and just upgraded to the Pro 6qt. for my holiday baking. I have been recently making pasta with my machines which is a lot easier than using the hand crank type. My old mixer still works great and was handed down to my son.

    Exceptional machine Review by

Bought to replace a very old sunbeam mixmaster. Look at the 5 at and the 6qt 6500 with the lift bowl mechanism. Once I learned how to attach the bowl I was sold on this model. It has more power than the 6 at, is very stable in the bowl locking system and the glass bowl let's you see what is happening. Also, the space between the edge of this bowl and arm of the mixer is wider. Makes it much easier to add ingredients.

Beautiful, a work horse, but... Review by

I LOVE KitchenAid mixers! I have 2, this one and a smaller one I've had for years. It is everything I had hoped for. Mixing large batches of cookies is a dream. BUT....the glass bowl. After using it for only 2 or 3 times, I noticed the rubber seal/gasket around the metal ball area that clicks into the mixer was torn. And just recently I lightly hit the bowl on my countertop and chipped it. I can still use the bowl but will probably order another one at some time. What I would love to see is a stainless steel bowl option. I was told they don't have one that fits this model. Please, KitchenAid people, please consider making a stainless steel bowl for this model!!!!! I rated innovation and quality low due to issues with the bowl.

Wish I had made the investment sooner Review by

I just purchased my mixer a few weeks ago but it has already proved to be an invaluable addition to my kitchen. It's so simple to use and has so many functions. I love being able to start mixing something and walk away to do other tasks. I also have the ice cream attachment and honestly the recipe that came with it makes the best ice cream I've ever eaten. Another thing I love is I can use this for things like mashed potatoes but using the stir setting, get the amazing consistency of hand mashed, without all of the work! Really looking forward to trying out my pasta attachments soon! Final note, the first time I used it I was so surprised by how quiet it is. Family in the kitchen never even heard it running. Highly recommend!

    Beautiful!!! Review by

I'm going to have to get a gym membership so my arms don't get flabby after eating all the cakes I'm making and not doing any of the work that I grown accustomed to. This is a strong and beautiful mixer. Looks good on my counter and cleans up easy. My sister, who doesn't even bake, keeps begging to use it so I'm getting her the pink mini! Just so I don't have to share : )

Works Like a Dream! Review by

I have only used my Kitchen Aid mixer to make bread so far, but it's the best bread I have ever made. After mixing and kneading by hand, I couldn't believe how fast it worked. I'm sure it will also be the answer for my Chicago Deep Dish Pizza crust. I have wanted a standing mixer for years, and fter reading lots of reviews, I didn't feel I should save the money on a cheaper one, and bought the expensive one with a large capacity and glass bowl suitable for bread, a beautiful candy apple red. I had none of the noises or smells that people mentioned in regard to the motor, and everything worked perfectly. I did not try to whip cream or egg whites yet, but it looks to me as though my beater will reach to the bottom of the bowl. I am hoping that problem has been corrected, and if not, I will get the metal bowl and be happy. I like looking at the mixer on my counter most of all!

    6500 series Review by

I bought this a couple weeks ago and I'm so glad I did I've already made cookies with it and it did such a good job of mixing the ingredients up. I had an older model KitchenAid mixer before I got this one that I had for over 10yrs. so that's why I went back to the KitchenAid cause I knew this one would last me another 10 or more yrs.

Strong and Long Lasting Review by

I bought this 2 months ago and I have been using it to bake breads. The motor housing keeps up and doesn't sound over stressed, especially with more thick and sticky doughs. The DC motor works well and also the bigger bowl helps.

    Quiet! Review by

I love how quiet this mixer is and how well it kneads dough. My biggest complaint is it can't mix and whip small volumes. I have to use a hand mixer or my kitchenaid artisan mixer.

Overall a great mixer Review by

I bought the pro version of the KitchenAid mixer in hopes that it is more durable that the Artisan level. In general, the mixer is great but it would be even better if the top tipped back instead of having the bowl be lowered. Since the top doesnt tip back, it's a little harder to pour ingredients into the bowl or switch mixing attachments. Other than that it's great though. Very quiet.

    Power House Mixer Review by

Upgraded to this model and love it. The glass bowl is a bit heavy, so I purchased the stainless steel bowl. You can purchase the 650 model, which has the steel bowl. This is a quite model and has less movement when on a higher speed mixing. As with all mixer I would also purchase a wider beating blade that removes more off the sides so you don't have to push down the sides during mixing.

Pro 6500 - A culinary dream come true...... Review by

This is my first Kitchenaid stand mixer and I am elated with this product. I grew up in a home with the old-school Hobart mixer my mother cherished. My mother had 5 sisters and all of them had a Hobart/Kitchenaid stand mixer as standard culinary equipment. I use my Kitchenaid for everything from baking to sausage making and would recommend this item to anyone that will listen. So, for those of you on the fence because of price, or for some reason you are unsure of the magical, fantastical Kitchenaid stand mixer, bite the bullet and get it. Go for it. You won't be disappointed!

Wish we would have bought this year's ago Review by

We treated ourselves to Consumer Reports highest rated stand mixer, the Kitchenaid Professional 6500. We could not be more pleased with our purchase. We've used it more often than we initially thought we would to make French bread, meat loaf, cookies, whatever--and we've had it for just two months. Our only regret is that we didn't buy this or a comparable mixer years ago. Too, the candy apple red color certainly adds to our cooking fun.

    So far happy Review by

So far I'm happy with this stand mixer. I've made a few things and it's operated well. HOWEVER I am displeased with both KitchenAid and their affiliate's companies knowledge of and availability of accessories for the mixer. I've attempted to purchase a silicone scraping beater and although it says fits all 6 quart lift stand mixers - it nearly knocked mine over when I turned the machine one. Needless to say it does not fit. This mixer is very large and a wide variety of accessories to accommodate the size bowl/recipe needs or various bowl sizes would be very helpful, but goodluck finding that info.

    Love it Review by

After wanting a KitchenAid for years we finally took the plunge and bought one. We spent a lot of time researching the best fit for our uses. My husband makes a very hearty whole wheat bread so we wanted one that could handle the load and we have not been disappointed. The only concern is the weight of the bowl and how tricky it can be to snap it in to place with the stand. Overall, very happy with our purchase.

    Looks great, but.... Review by

I have waited for years to purchase a KitchenAid mixer that I could afford. It is a great mixer but the paddle is not close enough to the bottom of the bowl. It doesn't mix and gather up the ingredients. I always have to stop it, take the bowl out, mix the ingredients on the bottom of the bowl into the batter, and put it back on the stand to have it fully mixed. Also, I don't understand why I have to stop the blender, put my hand into the bowl to take off the attachment in order to remove the bowl itself. I wish it lifted up a little so I this would be eliminated. Otherwise, it's a gorgeous piece of equipment.

Absolutely the best option out there. Review by

I recently bought this mixer as an upgrade to a 20 year old 5qt. professional. I considered the Artisan because I would really like a head lift rather than the bowl raising mechanism on the professional (would make bowl scraping while baking cheesecake so much easier). In the end I decided I needed the larger bowl and I love using this mixer. Several reviewers said it wasn't good at small batches but I disagree. I did a single batch of chocolate chip cookies and it was great, no issue, even better than my old 5qt. The bowl is HEAVY. I mean really heavy. I have ordered a separate stainless bowl in case I ever need something lighter. Can't imagine pouring cake batter from this sucker and scraping at the same time. Makes that a two man job. The glass bowl on the 5qt is all glass so is handy for the microwave but this one has metal on it and isn't as versatile. In the end the glass bowl is aesthetically pleasing and that's about it. I would suggest going with the stainless bowl unless you value aesthetics over practicality on this one. Do not use your whisk attachment for mixing cookie dough. I've broken mine in the past and that is the primary reason for buying a whole new mixer - can't buy a replacement whisk for the old mixer. Use the paddle for cookies! Love it! Love using it! If only it had the head lift it would be the most perfect machine ever!

GORGEOUS Pearl White, BUT Beater & wisk need babysitter Review by

My daughters and I each got a Pearl white 6500 PROFESSIONAL - F series - for Christmas. GOOD - The pearl white is gorgeous, subtle pearl (not bling bling glittery) very classy. I love the bowl lift feature as I don't have to pull it forward on the counter top to tilt the top back for the 6 qt glass bowl. GOOD -The large 6 qt glass lift bowl is heavy and substantial (not a criticism). The motor is quiet even on the highest setting. GOOD - I also have the spiralizer attachment, and the pasta roller and cutter attachments - i have used them all, and so far so good! >>> NOW FOR THE BIG BUT < < < The only beater/mixer blade and the only wire whisk available for this model are a frustration! Come on Kitchenaid! NOT GOOD - The beater blade only mixes the stuff in the middle of the bowl, and needs a babysitter to scrape the edges and bottom so that the bowl contents get thoroughly mixed. Turning off the mixer to scrape the sides of the bowl is recommended so you don't destroy your spatula or your hand. NOT GOOD - The 6 wire whisk doesn't get close to the sides so similar mixing issues arise (unless the contents are liquid). Less expensive/smaller Kitchenaid models have wide 11 wire whisks that Whip it, whip it good! Less expensive/smaller Kitchenaid models have a beater with a rubber spatula blade that scrapes the edges of the bowl for you, so you can cook like a professional. - Hey! BUT I BOUGHT THE 6500 PROFESSIONAL MODEL. Kitchenaid - please make an 11 wire whisk and a rubber edge beater blade for your higher end 6500 PROFESSIONAL model. ASAP! When you have these that fit the F series bowl - please let me know.

This is the best thing i got for Christmas! Review by

I severely injured my right wrist recently, had a partial rebuild of my left shoulder, combined with arthritis in both wrists, so mixing by hand and/or using my hand held 10 speed Kitchenmaid mixer became difficult. So my husband bought me the KMS6521XSR for Christmas. I couldn't be happier. This mixer is just amazing and so quiet! I am now looking at accessories that will make it even easier for me to bake and cook. I have never owned a Kitchenmaid stand mixer and now i will never be without one!

    Multiple issues Review by

I received this mixer as a Christmas gift and I am sad to say that I haven't been able to use it at all. There are multiple issues: 1. The rubber gasket on the glass bowl shreds off when seating the bowl in place

    So Disappointed Review by

Passed our KitchenAid Mixer onto our newly married Son and Daughter in-law. So we went all out on the KitchenAid 6500 Artisan. Instantly noticed having to scrape down the sides. When the wife finally mentioned this to me, we went to find out how to adjust the height. Maxed out the adjustment with really no difference in the action of the paddle blade. Still could not combine the ingredients. Went the whole route of taking up KitchenAid on their offer to send a new bowl, even though we had our doubts that would fix the issue. We tried the replacement bowl that came and found there to be absolutely no difference. Called KitchenAid back again and they agreed to send a replacement. We were hoping a different manufacturing batch might have resolved the issue. Today the new replacement mixer came and we fired it up again and found the same EXACT issue, the paddle is not close enough to the bottom of the bowl to gather up the ingredients to mix. The mixer looks great, the DC motor is nice and quite... but it is even quitter never being used.

Disappointed/Doesn't Scrape Bottom or Sides Review by

Like others who have reviewed the 6500, I love the huge glass bowl, the power, the quiet. Unfortunately, I am very unhappy about the blade not reaching the bottom or sides of the bowl, even when adjusted to the absolute max. I was so excited to receive this product, but I cannot stop and scrape this many times. We don't have a ton of money, so this was a super special holiday gift, and you can't imagine my disappointment and that of my husband, who so wanted to give me the mixer of my dreams. I used my old KitchenAid mixer happily for almost 20 years and was looking forward to passing it on to my daughter. I just wanted the bigger glass bowl, and now look at what has happened. I can't even imagine what a pain it's going to be to return this gigantic item (we bought it online). Please don't send me your blanket response. Please don't ask me to post my review elsewhere. You obviously have a design problem with this product.

I'm disappointed that there is not a flex edge beater available for this model...As others have stated, the paddle doesn't reach the sides or the bottom. Requires a lot of scraping durning mixing.

Nice mixer, but issues Review by

After much research on Kitchen Aid mixers, I decided on this model. Works well, but the paddle (even the paddle with the rubber material on one side) does not scrape the side and bottom of the bowl. My husband adjusted it, but problem persists. I frequently have to stop mixing, lower the bowl, and scrape the sides with a spatula for proper mixing. For the price, I would have expected better.

    Can't use! Review by

I can't use this mixer because it pops the breakers in my apartment. A replacement is being sent - but not for six to eight weeks. I don't know if the problem will be solved with a different mixer. I guess I'll find out in a month or two. In the meantime, I can only look at the mixer.

    Love it.. Review by

I bought this two weeks ago and I love it. It is quiet and powerful. So far I've baked 4 dozens of cookies and two cakes in one day. The only comment I have is I was told there is no pouring shield for this model. Also, it is a class bowl and it is heavy even when it is empty. So if you prefer a lighter bowl, I would not go for this mode.

Great power and great mixer, but.... Review by

I bought this mixer several months ago and sadly have found myself not using it. I primarily use my mixer for baking and the paddle doesn't reach near the bottom of the bowl (I understand needing room for the glass bowl, but it's a pretty big gap) I bought this mixer because I often bake large amounts at one time, but if you're only making 3-4 dozen of cookies or one double cake, it just doesn't mix the bottom layer of dough/batter/etc (much worse than my old KitchenAid mixer.) If I stop and scrap A LOT, and once a critical mass of batter is reached, it works. But honestly, I should be able to cream some butter and sugar without having to stop and scrap 8+ times. So for delicate items that are sensitive to mixing, it's definitely out. I've tried to do the height adjustment with the screw, but it's still really far from the sides/bottom. I've also tried a few scraping type attachments (Like I had for my old KitchenAid, because this problem isn't a new one for KA mixers, it's just FAR worse on this model), but none of them work. It is beautiful, relatively quiet, and is definitely a good size, but this issue is almost a game stopper. Sadly, I think about getting rid of it every time I go to use it. It's nice that kitchen aid responds to every negative review, but it's a blanket apology, they don't address anything. You will not be able to mix your items completely.

    Disappointed! Review by

I was very exited about this new mixer as I loved my older model that I passed onto my daughter in law. And, Yes it's pretty, but I haven't been impressed with this particular model. In my opinion the beaters have been made smaller to perhaps compensate for the GLASS bowl. I'm guessing that perhaps the makers didn't want to take a chance on them hitting and breaking the bowl and so (even after making the suggested clearance adjustment) the mixer still doesn't begin to come close enough to the bottom or the sides of the bowl to move my batter or dough around. KitchenAid is sending me a new bowl in hopes that it will solve this issue, but I am doubtful that it will solve anything. And I'll still have a very exspesive mixer that can't even do what my hand mixer can do!

    Wonderful worker Review by

My husband and three kids surprised me on my 40th birthday with this beauty. Immediately I opened up my cookbook and made double batches of cookies and bread. The mixer is wonderful! The motor is a power house without causing the mixer to jump around. The glass mixing bowl is a breath of fresh air. I love to be able to see everything come together right before my eyes. Over all the best birthday gift yet!

    Fantastic Choice Review by

I recently purchased a candy apple red Professional 6500 Design Series bowl lift stand mixer. I already own an Artisan model and have been extremely happy with it. The reason for the larger machine is that some recipes call for bigger quantities and I was finding it difficult to mix the batter in the smaller mixer. Although its a little bigger and heavier I don't regret getting it as it makes it so much easier when I make larger quantities. I have always been happy with my Kitchenaid appliances and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

    Best Mixer Ever Review by

I do a lot of food preserving, baking and candy-making. I have worn out three mixers over the years, one was an older Kitchenaid I received as a gift back in 1980. It was loud and I could not use it when my family was in the den (open concept den/kitchen). It finally gave up the ghost last holiday season and I told my family I wanted a new Kitchenaid mixer for Christmas. I received this model in CA red. It is the best machine I have ever used, including Kitchenaids I've used in classes. It doesn't vibrate even when making divinity and heavy bread doughs. It is so quiet my family hardly knows it's on when they are in the den. I can be using it and still converse with them. I can't say enough good things about this mixer. I have yet to truly test its motor. I have never heard it change its sound when going from thin to heavy batters or doughs. It's really a workhorse. This year, I asked for a spiralizer and a meat grinder for it, for Christmas. Looking forward to receiving some attachments for this awesome appliance. First thing I will do if I get the spiralizer is make a big batch of applesauce, which my family loves. I'm known, now, as Cookie Quick Finger because when my family wants fresh cookies, I can have some made in just a couple of hours.

    very good machine Review by

Excellent machine. smooth operation and easy to set up and use: Only one problem: The beaters don't reach the bottom of the bowl: I made the adjustment with the screww at the back of the support. Still not even close to touching the bottom. I believe the problem is with the band around the bowl, it is to low.

Best kitchen appliance ever! Review by

If you're looking for a top quality, heavy duty mixer, buy this one. You can't go wrong. It performs exactly as advertised and does everything you need a mixer to do. The motor is powerful enough to get the job done, and quietly, which is surprising for a larger appliance. Not only does it perform great, it's pretty stylish as well! It's a little on the heavy side, but it's solid and you get the sense that it's one of those things that's built to last. They don't make many things like that anymore! I love that you can purchase attachments like a food processor or meat grinder, etc. to make this a multi-purpose kitchen tool. We'll definitely be looking to buy some of these in the near future. I've only had mine for a little over 3 weeks now and love it. One of the best kitchen appliance purchases I've ever made.

    Definite Upgrade Review by

We don't buy bread products or baked goods from the store, so I am using this mixer almost every day. I had an Artisan KitchenAid mixer for the last 7 years and it finally died, but with so much baking I knew I needed larger capacity and a more powerful motor. I've had this mixer for a few weeks and so far I am very happy with it. I can make 3 hefty loaves of bread at a time and the machine does not struggle at all. It is a little noisy and I do find the heavier glass bowl a bit of an adjustment from the stainless steel bowl I am used to. The rubber seal around the metal ring that is part of the docking system has already been torn up, but it doesn't appear to affect the function so far.

Lots of power, quiet, and the glass bowl is appealing Review by

Bought this mixer about two months ago to replace an aging mixer that was never up to the tasks I wanted it for; this new machine does everything I need, and quietly; a feature I didn't realise was so dramatic. When buying, I was worried about the lack of mixing / splash guard, but it turns out it doesn't matter. Maybe it's because my previous mixer didn't have one either, that I learned how to mix without having stuff fly everywhere, but I am not sure. This mixer has a nice tapered lip that makes adding things to the bowl very easy. What I DIDN'T realise when I was buying this item is that the lift doesn't really have as much range as it really should. This is probably because KitchenAid didn't want the mixer to be too tall, but it's really pretty silly. In the end, unless you want to dramatically tip the bowl to remove it, you have to take off the mixing accessory you're using, which is quick, but just smacks of poor design. Outside of the lift issue, the machine is super quiet, has a ton of power, and the control system for the DC motor helps keep the speed super consistent (not that it really matters, but it's nice). Don't expect the machine to fit in most cabinets though for storage; it's tall, and it's probably going to need to be out in the open when not in use. Also, it's heavy; lugging it around might be a concern, but the other side of it is that the machine will never move, no matter what is going on in that bowl. Would be nice if a smaller bowl was easily available; I haven't been able to find one.

    Very Eye-catching! Review by

I bought this mixer for my wife's birthday and was she ever excited! Not only is this a real workhorse but it is a beautiful addition to the kitchen. This mixer is a gorgeous red with a glass bowl. I have not seen this feature with other mixers but KitchenAid has included an adjustment to change the beater height to minimize the distance between bowl and beater. No more unmixed batter left in the bottom of the bowl. Thank you KitchenAid!

    Powerful and Quiet Review by

So far I love this mixer. For bread dough, this model never bogged down or struggled in the least through various speed settings. Motor stayed reasonable cool through a 20 minute kneading cycle with about 24 ounces of dough. All done while talking with my spouse at normal conversation levels standing 5 feet away. It's really one of the quietest mixers I've ever used. Thanks Took one star away from review for dough hook design. Although effective once the ingredients were incorperated, I had to stop and scrape the flour away from the bowl a couple of times to speed up the mixing process. The hook in my opinion sits just a bit too far away from the bottom and sides of the bowl. That's the only thing that made me feel that this mixer was not absolutely perfect in design and function. Still, I highly recommend this to anyone wanting more power for heavy dough work and it's quiet DC motor is one of those things you really feel should not be a big deal, but notice right away.

    LOVE my mixer! Review by

My husband gave me the 6500 as an easy Christmas present. It is wonderful! In the past I had awful luck as. Tried to make bread. This mixer has made bread-making a snap. I made dinner rolls for Sunday dinner and everyone raved about them. I made a loaf bread and it is superb! Looks just like the picture and is soooo tasty. My box cake turned out fine - I may need to turn off the mixer a tad earlier next time- I need to get used to this mixers power. Again - I love the mixer. I bought a metal bowl as I was afraid the glass bowl would be too much for me to handle, but it has been great so far & I haven't even tried the metal bowl.

    Great Machine Review by

I had a KitchenAid Artisan for about five years and I loved it. My daughter is sharing a townhouse with college friends during her senior year, and she loves to bake for them all, so I decided to give it to her and to buy a new mixer for myself. I selected the Professional 6500 Design Series and my boyfriend bought it for me! I love the the 1.0 hp motor - it is quiet and powerful. It takes up a bit more space on my counter top but it is worth it! I purchased a 3 quart bowl with beater - definitely a must accessory for smaller recipes. I am looking forward to this year's holiday baking!!

I love kitchen aide - had my 4.5 tilt for 10 years but have been doing some serious cake baking and wanted the larger capacity and stronger motor. I read the reviews beforehand and saw that there was an issue reaching the bottom of the bowl but went anyway. Thought I saw a thread somewhere mentioning a possibly redesigned bowl. But I can't seem to find anything about that now. I want to love it. Am hoping to love it if I can just get that extra 3/8 lower. New bowl design??? Something, anything.

    Does not mix Review by

My husband bought this for me as a birthday gift in January. I was sooo excited to use it, as I had been wanting a good mixer for YEARS. We opted for this one rather than the artisan, and I am so so sad I didn't choose the latter. I love the idea of this mixer, but the paddles don't reach the bottom of the bowl! Even using the height adjustment screw, it didn't make a single difference. Want to whisk eggs? You'll need to find another mixer. Like making bread? Well, I hope you like scraping down the sides of the bowl several times. Overall, I was so so disappointed with this mixer. After waiting several years to make the plunge, you can imagine how devastating it was to buy a mixer that won't even mix. (granted, the paddle worked okay for a giant batch of cookies. But that can't make me overlook the other faults)

I picked up this Mixer on 7/28/16 and was upset that I wasn't aware of the promotion to get the ice cream maker on the purchase after 7/29/16. Had I know that, I would have waited a day. I purchased this as an upgrade to the Classic. A lot more power and size of bowl. Extremely unhappy there isn't a scraper attachment for this size. Glass bowl is very heavy, which I would expect it to be, but makes it difficult to seat the bowl into the mixer.

Merry Christmas to me Review by

Last year, I decided to retire my older 475 watt mixer, of 22 years. I actually gave it to a friend and it's still going strong. My new, shiny red mixer arrived in Charlotte in perfect condition and ready to get to work. I bake bread. This 1 hp motor, with the spiral dough hook makes short work of double batch. No problems with blending ingredients and thorough mixing. Yes, it needed a few adjustments to start with and yes it is a bit noisy, but that the sound of power. It is a lot quieter than an underpowered machine, straining to do the same job. This is a big boy machine, the home version of a commercial mixer. It is not cute, it is a beast. I have numerous attachments I have collected over the years and they all fit perfectly. I have the stainless tulip bowl, which I recommend, versus the glass bowl. It is lighter and no constant worry about smacking it into the granite counter edge, because I know who will win.

    Faulty Product Design Review by

The beaters DO not touch bottom or sides even after attempting to resolve..as suggested in the manual I purchased the Flex Flat edge beater for 6QT bowl, installed it and when I turned on the power....the beater hit the sides of the bowl making horrible noise and scrapped the side of the glass bowl making 2 skid marks in the glass, chipped the spout and tore the rubber rim.. The label clearly stated it was for my model, The bowl does not look cracked but there is a mark in two places on the bowl that I fear will get worse with use, so fearful of using my mixer .Also, on the paperwork that came with the glass bowl mixer, its states accessories Flat Beater and Flex Edge Beater are available for this model, which clearly is not the case based on my experience. I have been using Kitchenaid Stand Mixers for years and years....this has to be thw worse product of all. The glass bowl weights a ton...but also, is not working properly. Very VERY disappointed and sorry that I paid so much $$ for a kitchenaid product like this one. I checked out reviews online for this model....and my big mistake was not reading them BEFORE I spent all this $$...so many people are having the SAME problem I am having with the beater NOT reaching sides and bottom . Signed....VERY VERY disappointed customer. I will not recommend this model to anyone and concerned about other models now..

I have always wanted a stand mixer and was very excited to get this for my birthday. Upon registering my new mixer, I looked at all the reviews. Beautiful, But I have questions Review by

I have two 6 quart kitchen aid stand mixer's. I was so excited to get this latest one with a glass bowl. Unfortunately the bowl was broken and a replacement bowl could not be obtained by the retailer, so I had to ship the whole thing back to the retailer and wait for a new one. I tried to find a replacement glass bowl on the Kitchen aid Webb site and could not find one. I wish they would make replacements for the glass bowl Fortunately my metal bowls from my other mixer will fit, should something happen to this glass bowl. The beauty of the glass bowl is marred by a vertical line, that appears to be an imperfection left when it was possibly taken out of a mold and not sanded down. This is a small item, but it is a very expensive mixer. As lovely as a glass bowl is , I still use the metal bowl because there is no flex edge beater for the glass bowl. The flex edge beater saves so much time because I do not have to frequently stop and scrape the sides of the bowl down. I wish they would make a flex edge beater for the glass bowl Did I mention that the Candy Apple Red color is beautiful? Well it is! 4 things I would lie to know: 1. Can a replacement glass bowl be obtained for this mixer? 2. Will they make a flex beater for the glass bowl of this mixer? 3. Do they have a padded fabric cover for this size stand mixer. I don't want to make one but will if I have to do so. 4. Is it ok to use the combi bowl with it's matching whisk on this machine? It appears to fit fine.(I did not see the combi bowl on the kitchen aid Webb site but it is clearly a kitchen aid product obtained thru a national reputable retailer Williams and Sonoma)

Expensive but with the price. Review by

This is a good stand mixer. I like it pretty much. It does what's expected. I hope I won't have any problems with it. I've had it since 5/9/2016. So far so good, it's making my life easier. However, I'll be sure if it lasts for a long time in my kitchen without giving me a hard time . So, fingers crossed!

Not for egg whites Review by

I too bought this soley for egg whites. Impossible. The beaters do not touch the sides nor bottom. At all. I contacted kitchen aide and was sent another to try. Not any better today 5-23-16 I thought I'd give it another try. I whipped the egg whites and added food coloring gel. The gel sank to the bottom and through the glass bowl I could see it never moved. I had to stop and use my hand mixer. This mixer never should have left the test kitchen. And I would like my money back

This mixer needs help Review by

I bought this mixer several months ago through William Sonoma. I read all the reviews beforehand. Of course, some said don't get it because the paddle and the whisk do not reach the bottom. Then I read where there is an adjustment screw for that. So I figured a couple of reviewers did not notice, and that was that. How wrong I was. I love baking and got this to replace by failing 4.5 qt. I wanted something strong enough for double batches of cookie and bread dough. It is big enough. But it is a major pain to use. You start mixing. You have to stop it. Lower the heavy glass bowl. Then get your spatula and mix in the dry bit. Lift it back up. Then you do it all over a couple more times. There is also the problem of whipping egg whites. IT CAN'T BE DONE! I had better luck with a whisk and bowl. I have many batches of meringue never develop or go flat. I even sought out the scraper paddle attachment to see if that would help. By the way, they want about $70+ for the one designed to fit this bowl. That one doesn't reach either! This purchase is an incredible disappointment. The mixer feels strong, it is quiet and otherwise seems very good. If Kitchenaid could get it together and get the right bowl and paddle/whisk/hook with this mixer, it would be a winner. Until then, look elsewhere for a mixer.

Looks beautiful, works beautiful. Review by

As soon as I saw the Kitchen Aid 6500 Design Bowl Lift Stand Mixer when I walked into Williams-Sonoma I knew I had to have it. Even though my present Kitchen Aid is over 10 years old and still working like new, we are in process of remodeling kitchen and I absolutely knew the white pearl finish was absolutely the perfect match for my Carrara Marble counter tops. It looks stunning, My grandchildren love helping me make cookies, especially when they use the lift handle. I absolutely love the stylish look of the glass bowl and it is so user friendly. I am very, very happy with my new Kitchen Aid. Thankyou very much.

Best of the home user Kitchen Aid world! Review by

I purchased this several months ago after my Kitchen Aid Artisan died. This is the best Kitchen Aid I could get for my small kitchen and I am not a professional but I wanted to be able to make double batches and this does so effortlessly!

all show and no go Review by

i was excited to get a really good mixer for once, and took a great deal of time trying to figure out which model to get, as wanted something with a lot of power so that it does not struggle with mixing and does not make too much noise, so opted for this professioal glass bowl series. Very dissapointed as beater, whisk does not reach the bottom nor the sides so unless you have 20 eggs in there you end up starting by hand whisking and finishing by hand too to get all the dry ingredients from the bottom and sides. Grey lid also does not seal closed over the bowl just sits there at an awkward angle, not much use. Contemplated getting a blade with a rubber scraper side, but after reading other reviews have decided not to bother wasting my time, only wish i had seen these reviews before.

    Disappointing Review by

I received this as a Christmas gift, was v very excited to use as my old mixer from a different company finally broke.. after hearing everyone talk about this mixer and the kitchen aid name, I was thoroughly excited, until I used it. Unfortunately, the first one had to b e returned due to a manufacturing defect (kitchen aid customer service was amazing). I am in agreement with the other reviewers, no matter how I adjusted the beaters, it did not scrape or mix the sides, I have tried every incremental positioning of the little screw to no avail. The glass bowl is crazy heavy. I really wanted to like this mixer as I do A LOT of baking, but nothing I do seems to rectify the uneven mixing.

Not exactly what I expected! Review by

I purchased this a few weeks ago. Used it for the first time a week after I received it in the mail. Even purchased the attachment with the rubber scrapper. It don't reach the bottom of the mixing bowl. First batter I made all the dry was stuck on the bottom..and I thought I mixed it all. Had to pour the batter all back out of the pans. Just to make sure I got in there to scrap the bottom and mixed it all again. Which kind of over mixed the batter. :( With all the money I paid out it should have done the job right.
