    Customer Questions

Questions on KitchenAid Bowl Lift Mixer - KSM7586PCA

      • Q:  Is this KitchenAid mixer (KSM7586PCA) new or refurbished?
      • A:  This is a new item. We do not sell refurbished items.
      • Q:  what is your guarantee or return policy
      • A:  Kitchen Aid mixers come with a one year hassle free replacement warranty. We will replace any defective mixer within 30 days of your delivery date, after that you will go through Kitchen Aid directly. Returns must be new and un-used and will be returned by you within 30 days of receiving your order.
      • Q:  Re: kitchenaid 7 quart stand mixer: what attachments are made for this mixer, what are there prices and do you carry them? I am especially interested in the grain mill, ice cream maker and meat grinder. thanks
      • A:  All of the attachments that go into the mixer hub fit this 7 quart mixer, so everything except for model specific attachments such as the dough hooks, whips, and bowls. The other Kitchenaid attachments such as food grinders, ice cream makers, pasta accessories, etc, all fit it. I wouldn't buy the cloth cover for the 7 quart size though, as it will not be long enough to cover the whole mixer. The Kitchenaid mixer attachments are listed at http://www.everythingkitchens.com/kitchenaidattachments.html .
      • Q:  What are the mechanical differences between this KSM7586PCA and the
        KSM 7990 model?
      • A:  The KitchenAid 7 Qt Bowl Lift Mixer model KSM7990 is a NSF Certified Commercial Stand Mixer with 115V, 500 Watts. The KSM7990 model has a 2 year hassle-free replacement warranty. The KitchenAid KSM7586PCA is not NSF Certified and is 110V with 1.3 horsepower direct current Kitchenaid Mixer motor. The KSM7586PCA has a 1 year hassle-free replacement warranty. Both models have metal gears.
      • Q:  Please send the text of the 5 year Limited Kitchenaid Replacement warranty for KA model KSM7586PCA.

        Stewart Lauer
      • A:  I uploaded the product manual for you, and the full warranty wording is on page 22 and 23 of the manual located at: http://www.everythingkitchens.com/PDFfiles/KSM7586PCA.pdf .
      • Q:  I just got your 7 quart Pro Line, handle in the front model and would like to make a cover for it since the place my husband got it from, doesn't have the size and I do so want to protect it from flying grease and cooking substances. Could you send me the dimensions so I can make it? You know, HEIGHT, WIDETH, AND DEPTH. Thank you for your help. I just love the mixer and the ice cream attachment. Sincerely, Bonnie
      • A:  Bonnie, please refer to the following dimensions: 11.5"W (w/lift arms) x 14"D x 16.5"H
      • Q:  Will you take price matching from ebay?
      • A:  At this time, Everything Kitchens does not coordinate price matching with Ebay. We will analyze the idea for future consideration
      • Q:  I am looking to buy a 7 Quart kitchen aid mixer. My first question is, is this a refurbished model or is it brand new? 2nd question is, does this mixer run on 110 current? Thank you Bill

      • Q:  is there a 3qt bowl that will fit this mixer
      • A:  Hello Kathleen,

We appreciate you reaching out to us with your inquiry!

Unfortunately, the KitchenAid 3 Quart Stainless Steel Bowl and Combi Whip for 6 Quart Mixers, will not fit the KitchenAid 7qt Proline Stand Mixer. The bowl will only fit models: KV25G (KitchenAid 5qt Professional 5 Plus) and KP26M1X (KitchenAid 6qt Professional 600) I am unsure if KitchenAid makes a 3 qt bowl for the 7qt proline mixer. To inquire, you can call KitchenAid at 1-800-541-6390.

The smallest bowl that we offer that will fit the 7qt mixer, is the KitchenAid 5 Qt Commercial Mixer Bowl, item # KSMC5QBOWL.

Hope this helps! Have a great day Kathleen!

        Thank you,

        Everything Kitchens

The Kitchen Aid 7 quart Porline mixer does not make a clicking sound but if you were to get one that did, you would be able to immediately get it replaced through Kitchen Aids hassle free replacement policy.

      • A:  Hello Tony,

We appreciate you reaching out to us with your inquiry.

The KitchenAid 7 Quart Proline Stand Mixer - Candy Apple Red, has 120V and is not recommended to use with 220V.

    Love, Love, Love Review by

I received my Ruby Red mixer as a Christmas present and absolutely love the machine. It was a little tricky learning how to put the bowl on, but after that..I was in business. This is my second KA mixer in 33 years of marriage. My first one is still going strong and was passed along to my daughter. (Posted on 1/7/19)

All you have to do is turn it on, and you're in love! Review by

The Kitchenaid Pro Line mixer is so amazingly quiet I almost couldn't believe it! The new DC motor makes all the difference in the world, and that is coming from someone who has owned 11 Kitchenaid mixers over the years! Move over, Artisan! Sorry, Epicurean! See ya later, Pro 600! My new Pro Line is my dream mixer and I love, love, love it! Oh, did I mention the Candy Apple Red color? Gorgeous!!! (Posted on 6/9/18)

    cookie dough Review by

Just purchased for wife at Christmas. Great for double batch of cookies. Issue is with getting use to attaching bowl to mixer but hopefully gets better as it is used more. (Posted on 1/2/18)

As good as it gets. Can use Pro 600 attachment Review by

My wife and I purchased this in February 2017 to replace our then 6 years old KitchenAid 6 Quart Professional 600 (KP26M1X).

First of all, we tried it with the bowls, whips and dough hook we had for the pro 600, specifically the ones that came with the Pro 600 as well as the 3 quart bowl and combi whip (KN3CW) we purchased separately. Contrary to what is often reported, they all work fine.
The fabric cover also work, although it's a bit short. The only bowl-type part for the Pro 600 that doesn't work for this model is the ice cream maker, and that is because the plastic piece (drive assembly) that is used to connect the dasher (paddles) to the mixer does not fit, as the shape of the mixer head where the drive pin is located is different. It seems that it's only that cheap little part that is different, but it can be found on the internet as a spare part (9709419 or WP9709419) for about $15. Now our "old" , and on our ice cream maker works perfectly.

We use the KitchenAid mixer mostly for kneading Italian or French bread as well as pizza dough. On average a batch every week. Knewading this type of dough is a tough job for a mixer!
The Pro 600 drivetrain failed after 6 years and always had some trouble mixing a batch of 36oz to 40oz flour (8 1/2 to 9 1/2 cups) with 24oz water (roughly 4 lb of dough, equivalent to about 4.5 14oz loaves).
KitchenAid's web site states that the Pro 600 can mix 8 1/4 loaves of bread. Perhaps they can fit in the bowl, but it will never actually knead them! Everythingkitchens description mentions "can effectively mix up to 14 cups of all-purpose flour per batch" (about 60oz of flour) but we never managed it with bread dough.

The KitchenAid 7 Quart Proline seems to be more capable of kneading bread dough. Everythingkitchens description mentions "able to handle up to 8 lbs of bread dough", again that is a bit optimistic in our experience. Perhaps if the dough has a lot of moisture in it. But we have been increasing our batch size to 40oz to 44oz flour with 26oz water (4 1/3 lb of dough) and it handles it, although it does strain sometimes, so that seems to be as much it can safely handle.

Regarding power: the label says itys max input is 500 Watts. Now, power and energy can't "grow". So at best, if there were no energy/power losses due to friction in the gears and electrical losses in the circuits, the available power at the output would be 500 Watts and since 1 HP=745.7 Watts that means its maximum theoretical output is 2/3 HP.

Finally, The KitchenAid 7 Quart Proline (KSM7586P) is much quieter than the Pro 600 and it seems the motor heats up much less.

    Love it! Review by

recently received my new Kitchenaid 7 Qt. lift Bowl mixer as a gift from my husband. so far I’ve made cookies, two batches of sandwich bread and double batch oh Italian bread. No problems so far. I love the beautiful candy Apple red glaze on the machine. I rate this at a 5 Star. Thank you Everything Kitchens for the great pricing. (Posted on 10/20/17)

    Absolute must have Review by

I've had this for almost a year now. I'm very new to coming and this product has made it very easy to cook so many various dishes. I can't think of one complaint. I've had zero issues and the attachments are plentiful and useful. To save money, find a kitchen store that has refurbished kitchenaids. A lot of times they're used at conventions one time and then have to be sold as used.

Great for large baking projects Review by

We use this mixer regularly for holiday baking. For example, we just made several loaves of Greek Easter bread and couldn't do it without the KitchenAid mixer. The dough hook easily mixes the ingredients and the ability to lower and raise the bowl, makes adding ingredients a breeze without causing a mess. I would definitely recommend this mixer to everyone.

    Awesome! Review by

Received this as a gift & absolutely love it! Never thought I'd really use it for much as it looks intimidating but it is so easy to use. Its quiet, does its job well and is so easy to clean. I have used it numerous times now and wonder how I lived without it!

Did not hold up to light mixing Review by

I have had my mixer for a couple years but rarely used it only for cakes, mashed potatoes and light duty mixing. (no bread dough). Turned it on to mix a cake and it started grinding and the ladle will now not turn. I contacted manufacturer but I would have to purchase a return kit and who knows how much it will cost to ship and then pay them to fix it? Still looks brand new and pretty on my counter, just won't work. Very disappointed as I purchased the largest best (highest cost ) mixer KitchenAid offered to make sure it worked for years......guess not.

Great for large quantities Review by

Works like a dream, three yrs old now. Somewhat noisy at high speed. It's perfect for large qantities of dough, but whipping less than 8 eggwhites - or less than 5 lbs of dough is problematic, volume is too small. I might buy. 4.5 mixer for smaller batches. It's difficult to scrape down bowl, even when bowl is lowered. I have to remove the bowl and the attachment completely to properly scrape it down.

Three years later still going strong. Replaced KA 5 professional. Love the power of this mixer as well as performance. Use it 2-3 times a week primarily for bread baking.

Second Defective Unit in a Row Review by

I'm a long time Kitchenaid owner dating back to 1998. I purchased the Proline 7qt mixer to have a larger capacity mixer. The mixer is big and looks very nice on the counter. Unfortunately both of my units (original and warranty replacement) have been a big let down. The first unit clicked and clacked so loud I could not hear the oven timer or TV. The second one had a scary type of grinding noise and deposited metal shavings and oil/grease into my dough. I'm not sure what is going on at Kitchenaid but I'm very disappointed. My unit from 1998 still works great but I purchased t he new one to make bigger batches. I would not encourage anyone to purchase this unit until Kitchenaid gets the kinks worked out. It is not fun to have to deal with the hassle of contacting Kitchenaid and then receiving and sending back the old one. I expect Kitchenaid to deliver a quality product the price paid.

    Very Disappointed Review by

I received my Proline Kitchenaid mixer in December 2016. Bowl was rusted and dents replacement had same problem. Customer service said all stock is the same. Its very difficult to set the bowl on the mixer. A metal clip makes it almost impossible. I silver screw fell out from the inside of machine. What it was securing who knows. I contacted the representative whom emailed me back and no resolution was offered. My product sits in its box never used. I'm very very disappointed. Won't refer anyone to Kitchen Aid products.

Just what I expected Review by

Let me start by saying: After much research I knew I wanted a KitchenAid - but which one? I first bought the Professional 600 Series 6 Quart Bowl-Lift Stand Mixer. It was very nice - but, it just didn't have the power I needed for the baking I do - pizza dough, yeast breads, heavier cookie dough - and I found it to be unexpectedly loud. So I decided to return the 600 and upgrade to the Pro Line Series 7-QT Bowl Lift Stand Mixer, and I am so happy that I did! Lets begin with the cosmetics...it is beautiful. The candy apple red color is just what I'd expect and I love the detailing of chrome. It looks lovely just sitting on the countertop. Even my Mom, who doesn't bake or cook, commented on it saying Wow, that's pretty. Now, for the important things...mixing...it works like a dream. It is exactly what I was expecting when I bought my stand mixer. Put your ingredients in - turn it on - and it does it's job. No sounds of stress or strain. Matter of fact it is so quiet that there is very little sound at all. I was mixing pizza dough the other day when my phone rang and I was able to converse with zero interference. I'm very happy with my Pro Line - it makes my baking even more fun than I already had. My only concern (thus the 4 star on design) is a clicking sound coming from the attachment area up above, especially when I am kneading. The heavier the dough the louder the click. It isn't something that would cause me to return it (at this point), but it is something I am going to keep an eye on. I don't know what is causing it, if this is a problem waiting to happen, or just a normal expected sound. The mixer has a 5 year warranty so I'm not worried.....I'll just continue to love my new mixer and enjoy every moment of my Christmas baking. I would recommend the Pro Line to every person that loves to bake...the enjoyment and fun factor go up tenfold.

I've been using my 7 Qt. proline stand mixer for 2 years now and I absolutely LOVE it! I use it for everything from cookies to grinding meat. With all the attachments available for kitchenaid and the power of this machine, it can handle any job, big or small. I highly recommend this mixer!

Americas Test Kitchen with Chris Kimball rated Proline 7 Review by

On ATK, Chris Kimball and an associate tested 12 pro stand mixers. They found that the Kitchen Aid 7 Quart Proline stand mixer with a 22 wire whisk was the top choice. Next was the Kitchen Aid 4.5 quart Kitchen Aid stand mixer. My question is, will the Kitchen Aid Proline 6 quart stand mixer adapt to the 22 wire whisk that is used on the Proline 7?

I love my Kitchaid Review by

I have RA and can't work with my hands very good and this mixer saves me so much time and pain in the kitchen and for making bread it's wonderful. I make my own hamburger with the meat grinder. I put 5%fat in and have great burgers for 3.99 a pound.

    Dissapointed Review by

I received my mixer last night and was so excited. I got it set out on the counter and looked it over. There is a chunk missing off the arm of the bowl lift, a chunk missing off the beater, and burrs inside the bowl from the welds of the handle.

    source kitchenaid.com (Posted on 11/11/16)

    Easy To Use Review by

The ease to use this mixer you don't have anything dropping off the beaters. Because the bowl is lifted up with a handle. And when you remove the bowl the beater is removed with the bowl so that nothing is dripping from the beater's onto your unit like the tilt head sometimes does.

Severely flawed manufacturing and quality control! Review by

First, I upgraded to this mixer to replace a KP26MIX 6 quart mixer that malfunctioned after only 4 months of use. The 7 qt mixer arrived in two days but Kitchenaid omitted FedEx return label needed to return defective machine. Now after packing up old machine, I apparently need to wait 3 business days for Kitchenaid to send label. Now, onto the REAL PROBLEM...I JUST ALMOST BROKE MY PINKY FINGER BECAUSE FACTORY NEGLECTED TO INSTALL CAP THAT COVERS HOLE ON END OF BOWL LIFT KNOB! Mixer also had sharp prickly fiber strands stuck to edges of bowl lift glides and glops of excess grease all over! Dough hook and flat beater coating is also defective with pitting and various rough spots too! HOW ON EARTH HAS KITCHENAID QUALITY FALLEN SOOOOO LOW? Now, the icing on the cake...Kitchenaid will not process exchange of 7qt mixer that is missing a part until they receive defective 6 qt mixer which I can't ship without the label they neglected to send me! Jeff Fettig, Kenneth Hossler, and Corby Schroeder should all be ashamed of the lack of quality and inferior manufacturing that is now standard for Kitchenaid brand.

    Poor quality Review by

I purchased this mixer February 2016 as a replacement for the 6 quart mixer I burned up making cookie dough. I love my mixer but have had an enormous problems getting a non-defective bowl. I ordered an extra stainless steel bowl at the time I ordered my mixer but received a glass bowl. It was packaged improperly with no padding and in a flimsy box. Needless to say, it was broken when I opened the box. I called customer service, and they sent out a metal bowl that was RUSTED around the inside top of the bowl. Called customer service, and received another defective, rusted bowl. I now have four defective bowls, and only one that is ok. I should have only 2 good bowls. I have given up trying to receive a well made bowl, it just isn't possible using kitchenaid's quality control procedures. I asked if they could at least inspect the bowl before sending and was told it wasn't possible. Don't they have humans working in the warehouse??? My rating would be 5 stars, but my negative experience receiving a food safe bowl cancels out the good.

Older models are better Review by

Sadly, my review is similar to the others. I had my old artisan mixer for over 25 years- works like a charm - but wanted a larger unit but as with the other folks- it started clicking, the paddle gets stuck and vibrates even if nothing is in the bowl. Totally bummed:(

    Disappointing Review by

I've had my Kitchenaid Proline 7 qt mixer for a little over one year. Every time I use it and it starts to struggle a little bit with cookie dough or other substance, it trips the GFCI. My house is only fourteen years old so I don't know if it's the wiring or the mixer, but it's quite a nuisance. A smaller mixer might have been a better choice

    Fantastic Customer Service Review by

We bought this mixer 5 months ago, after having a previous model for over 20 years. It worked fine until the other day, mixing, whipping potatoes and kneading heavy bread and pasta doughs. The other day we noticed the flat beater just barely nicking the bowl; this happened through the full range of bowl adjustments. I called customer service and described what I had seen and done. The woman immediately said she would send a replacement, which arrived in just a few days, with complete return instructions, mailing label, etc. I just packed the old one in the replacement's packaging, called Fedex to pick it up and was done. No shipping cost, no restocking fees, no waiting until they received the problem mixer. We still love this mixer despite the hiccup and can't say enough about KitchenAid's customer service.

Talk About A Mixer! Review by

I have not only recommemded this mixer to my friends, I have given one to three of my children and one grandchild. The rest are waiting for theirs or have asked for and received one from their spouse! I received my first Pro Line back in 1973. I raised 5 children and baked cookies, etc for at least 10 grandchildren. The first thing that they ask for when they visit me is, Can we make cookies? I never bought yucky bread for my children - I always baked it fresh using my dough hook. I gave my last Pro Series to my son or rather traded it for the smaller on that I'd given him earlier. I do miss it even though the smaller one is nice.

I've had a Kitchenaid mixer 4.5 for years and have loved it...I decided to go for the gusto and purchased the very large, bowl lift mixer...it is a nice mixer but there are some cons with this product...its extremely heavy, with the glass bowl,so it cost me about 50 bucks for a stainless..however the mixer is quite awkward, while trying to get the bowl out and the wisk, the egg whites, cake mix, etc.fall onto the mixer or the cabinet or on me..I realize the motor is too heavy to be a lift and I'm going to say, unless you use very large quantities all the time, the Artisan is the way to go!

FINALLY I GOT ONE! Review by

I got this as an early Christmas gift from my Mom and she ordered one for herself as well. She ordered the Artisan, she loves making cakes. As for me, I'm a cookie baker and always double up on my recipes. My previous mixer was the Oster Kitchen Center that I got from my Mom at my wedding shower--that was about 30 years ago! It could not handle double batches, I had to stop half way through the mixing process to get some elbow muscle into mixing the dough for my chocolate chip cookies. It was exhausting, but I was younger and able to handle it. Alas it was on its last breath and my Kitchen Center finally exhausted itself. When KitchenAid came out with this 7 qt Bowl Lift Mixer, I had been eyeing it for quite some time and finally got one before Christmas! Well, with the hustle and bustle of the recent holiday season and working full time, I never had the opportunity to use the machine. I finally took it out of the box and was afraid it was not going to fit under my counter. To my surprise, I was thrilled it did. I want to display my KitchenAid for all to see! I immediately washed my bowls and mixer attachments and whipped up a DOUBLE BATCH of the chocolate cookie dough. It was effortless to say the least and because the mixer thoroughly mixed all ingredients, especially the brown sugar and white sugar, it broke up the grainy particles beautifully! I brought some of my famous Toffee Chocolate Chunk Smore Cookies into work and they were a HUGE HIT! I could not have been so pleased! I wish I had taken a picture to show you how beautiful the dough came out. As far as the mixing bowl, I agree the metal pressure plate in back of the bowl is a bit difficult to get in place. It took me a few tries, but I'm guessing I'll get the hang of it as I use this machine more and more. I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to see a 7 qt GLASS BOWL to go along with this mixer. I have read many reviews on other sites on this 7 qt mixer and this is requested by the masses! Is KitchenAid working towards this goal?

    Not happy Review by

I was so thrilled that my husband was able to purchase this mixer for me for Christmas 2015. I have had a much smaller version for years and was more than pleased with how it has held up. I have made 8 double batches at one time of bread in it at Christmas time for years now. I just wanted a bigger and more powerful mixer. I gave away my older one to a niece that is wanting to learn to bake. So imagine my disappointment when I tried to use it and found that the flat beater and the wire whisk hits the side of the bowl. I have repeatedly tried the adjustments recommended in the manual that came with it to no avail.

    A better product Review by

I've had my stand mixer (7qt Pro- red) for a bit over 3 months now and still am very impressed. While I do not use every day, when it is used it usually is for large quantities, and it shines. The motor is DC, meaning low RPM's but lots of torque: translating: powerful but silent. Make no mistake, this is not a portable model. It is big. It is heavy, which is good, don't want 3-4kgs of flour dancing on my counter. I expect it to last a lifetime Only reason not giving it 5stars is the mixing bowl and the way it attaches. The steel used could be a little thicker, every time I grab it I'm always afraid it will drop and dent. Although I'm fully aware the bowl needs to be very firmly in place, the present system of a pressure plate in back of the bowl is not efficient, ussually entailing me to try 3-4x before correctly inserting the bowl.

    KitchenAid Pro Review by

I received my KitchenAid mixer from my mom. She had it for a year but due to poor health, was only able to use it a couple times. I was so excited to get a KA Mixer!! But the attachments have oxadized and black rubs off on my hands. I can't use them so therefore, I cannot use my mixer at all. HELP!!

    very disappointed Review by

I bought this mixer for my son for Christmas in 2013. It is no longer working. He uses it to make bread on a regular basis. Last week the motor started to jam and the attachment no longer moves around. I have had a kitchen aid for many years with no problems. About 8 years ago I purchased the bigger pro-line model and mine has already been rebuilt once and is in the shop again to be rebuilt for exactly the same problem my son's mixer is displaying. If I can't make bread - no more than 6 cups of flour - what is it good for? Very disappointed in this model!

    Very pleased Review by

I received this mixer as a surprise gift, to replace my 14 yr old Classic stand mixer. The Pro Line has been a wonderful addition to my kitchen, most notably that it handles a double batch of cookies without even a wobble. Amazing! Also, side note, KitchenAid holds its value, as I sold my old mixer at my rummage sale for $100!

Great product. Love it Review by

Spent the week making cakes and bagels and bread. It was a joy. The only thing that had me somewhat worried was while baking a double batch of bagels. A very firm, gluten-rich dough. During several passes through with the hook, the motor seemed to stall, then power through. Is this part of the circuitry brain of the unit and a normal finding? Or, should I be concerned of a motor failure?

    Indispensable Appliance Review by

I have been waiting to buy a stand mixer. So when I did I bought the best one on the market! I am truly smitten with this device. I have been baking a mixing up a storm. It made my 6 weeks cake decorating class a breeze. Unlike others, I love the sound of mixer as it works and do not find it annoying at all. The machine is working and I find the sound soothing and reassuring that it is doing the work and not me. Don't know how I lived without it before. The scrapper-paddle attachment (purchased separately) is the best!!!

    Smooth machine... Review by

Very sharp and responsive, powerful and larger than my previous KitchenAid, happy to be able to produce larger batches without dividing. Seems like they've perfected the Stand Mixer!

Top of the line mixer Review by

I received this mixer as a graduation present and it's incredible. The motor is so quiet and it really kneads dough well as well as makes great ice cream with the ice cream bowl attachment! Top of the line.

    Great Mixer Review by

I just bought this mixer to replace my 6 qt which died after just two years. I like the powerful engine. It is large enough to make lots of breads. I also like that the height of bowl can be adjusted depending on attachment. I love the color too! The dark gray is very sleek.

All in the family! Review by

I tried my Mom's new 7-qt mixer last summer and have been wishing for one ever since. Mine came for Mother's Day. I started using it with tried and true family recipes and they all turned out well. This summer I plan to do some serious bread mixing with my new mixer. One of my sisters received the same model last Christmas.

Ol' Reliable is Back Review by

I bought one of these for me and like it so much got several to give (as wedding gifts). The units are solid and seem very dependable, like the old Kitchen Aid mixers were. The new motor really makes a difference. It doesn't struggle to knead my dough or run my attachments. I'm sure if you are careless you can overload it but I've baked large quantities of yeast wheat bread and it's been great for me. There is no plastic on the outside and I'm told that the innards are metal as well (no plastic gears to break). It's quite strong. Much stronger than you need for mixing. Excellent for large amounts of bread dough, it just powers through it. It's strong enough to not get more than quite warm (not hot) when rolling pasta, juicing, etc. at high speeds. Word of warning: Sometimes the attachment can't keep up with the mixer, and the attachment overheats and seizes up. Quite a change from my old, less-powerful Artisan (which was good for mixing and a small bit of kneading but was definitely underpowered for attachments like the grinder). Keep track of how your attachments are doing. This didn't used to be necessary! KitchenAid sells a good product but has an issue with QC. I had to replace one mixer. I had to replace one glass bowl. I had to replace a pasta extruder. Is it just my bad luck? I suspect not given what I read. But KA customer service is very helpful, and they pay postage both ways! My only irritation is that the mixers 'click'. My old, noisier unit might have clicked, but I couldn't hear it in all the racket. This unit is quieter so I can hear it. KA indicates this clicking is normal. But it is an irritating sound (not just to me) I think they could engineer it out. That said, it's much quieter than my old KA. (I also would rather pay more for better quality attachments. Some KA attachments will last long. Some, based on my experience, need to be replaced every couple of years. Sorry KA, but a very important reason I got this powerful unit is to drive the attachments. Why should I match a great unit with a mediocre attachment? There, I said it.) The basic unit is more than what I expected. I'm really happy with it and would recommend to anyone who bakes large batches OR who uses power-hungry attachments for more than a short period of time. Even if you mix small amounts, if you have a power-hungry attachment such as a meat grinder or pasta extruder, you really need this machine. It's made a big difference for me. I noted some shortcomings, but keep in mind I truly like it and give them away as gifts. You'll like it too. I got 5 quart and 3 quart metal bowls with this. I use the 3 quart a lot for mixing small quantities or whipping something. I also got the 6 quart glass bowl. It is heavy, but looks very pretty so that's what I leave on the machine all the time (with a bowl cover). It's also really nice to see how things are mixing or your dough is kneading. It can be hard to see well though the splashguard. I would give 5 stars if the quality/reliability was increased, the clicking eliminated, and definitely if ALL the attachments were more solid.

A Powerful Kitchen Asset! Review by

    I love it! Review by

I enjoyed using my first Kitchen Aid 4 1/2 qt mixer for 34 years before I gave in and bought my new 7 Qt KitchenAid Pro line. It is a wonderful machine! I can double my bread recipes and the new KitchenAid kneads the larger amount better and faster than the smaller machine. Nothing seems to heavy or too thick for the ProLine. I'm looking forward to using it for many years.

KitchenAid 7 Qt. Proline Mixer in Candy Apple Red Review by

I have had a 5 Qt. KitchenAid mixer for about 35 years. It has been a workhouse and still works fine despite my knocking it off a shelf about 25 years ago. However, I have wanted a bigger, more powerful and colorful one for a while now. This was a Mother's Day gift and it definitely brightens up the kitchen, has a humongous capacity and is a powerful, relatively quiet machine. Love it!!

The best ever! Even whipped cream whips uniformly! Review by

I've had a lift 5 quart KitchenAid stand mixer from back in the day (1988) which I loved. I wanted a bigger bowl so I bought a 7 qt. Cuisinart (before KitchenAid offered a 7 qt.) and was not satisfied with its design and performance. I sold it second hand and bought the 7 qt. KitchenAid. It is still new but I've made bread, cake batter, meringue, and whipped cream. Couldn't be more thrilled.

not functional or easy to use Review by

For frequent weekly use, this machine is not easy to use. It is heavy and cumbersome; The head doesn't bend up so I have to take out the bowl any time I want to stir; the bowl only lifts about 1-2 inches; the beaters don't get everything off the bottom and edges, so I end up having to take out the beaters and bowl frequently to just stir.
Good quality product, but not easy to use. (Posted on 10/26/14)

My brand new 7 quart Proline mixer just arrived 4 days after I ordered it with just standard shipping. It is beautiful and came with the pouring shield which many retailers were charging more for. What a great company, a great price and blinding fast order processing and shipping. (Posted on 3/29/13)
