      • A:  Hello Sue!

Hope you're having a great day so far!

The KitchenAid 6 Quart Professional 6500 Stand Mixer: Design Series Glass Bowl, is a bowl lift design mixer. There is a handle on the side of the mixer that assist with lifting the bowl up and down. It really depends on your preference if you would prefer a tilt head mixer or a bowl lift design. I have heard from a few customer's that the bowl is a bit difficult to put on. You do have to use some force to lock the bowl into place, whereas the with the tilt head version, you can place the bowl easier onto the mixer.

The advantages to have this KitchenAid 6 Quart Professional 6500 Stand Mixer: Design Series Glass Bowl, is that you would have more power. This mixer has a 1 horsepower motor. Comparing this to a KitchenAid 4.5 quart mixer which has around 250 watts of power. It is based on your personal preference and the quantity you will be mixing as well.

I hope this answers your question. If you have any other question, please do not hesitate to ask!

        Thank you,

        Everything Kitchens, LLC

Unfortunately, we do not ship outside of the United States at this time. I can only recommend at this time reaching out to KitchenAid, or contact another retailer to inquire if they would ship outside of the United States. You could also try finding the item on Ebay as well. The phone number to KitchenAid directly is 1-800-541-6390.

      • Q:  What is the glass bowl good for? The attachments on my 6500 don't reach the bottom or the edged of the bowl resulting in extra work for creams or icings etc. Which stainless bowl and attachments do you suggest?
      • A:  This is a great question Lee,

The glass bowl is great when you're making something and want to chill the dough, or you want to make a pie crust and keep the dough as cool as possible during the mixing process. You can put this bowl in the fridge and let it get nice and chilly before use or once you've mixed your dough and don't have to bother transferring to another bowl and doing more dishes.

As for your attachments not reaching into the bowl deep enough, we would generally suggest adjusting the height of the beaters/whips/hooks for each different bowl you use of different capacity or design. To learn to adjust the height of the beater blade or other attachment, we have created a video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_v73RMLiRAs

You can also review your product manual and it will contain instructions for doing it.

As far as getting a stainless steel bowl, we do sell a compatible bowl here: https://www.everythingkitchens.com/kitchenaid_6_qt_mixer_bowl_kn2b6peh.html

If you are hoping to scrape the sides of the bowls, the best option would be to try the flex-edge beater, here: https://www.everythingkitchens.com/kitchen-aid-flex-edge-beater-6qt-bowl-lift-f-series-glass-bowl-models-kfef6l.html

        I hope this helps,

    Love it! Review by

I could not be more pleased with this purchase. It replaces a (still working) 1986 model. We make a lot of bread and the DC motor and direct drive were factors in choosing this model over others. Been using it almost a year for bread, cookies, whipped cream, etc. and it churns through everything without hesitation. Mine sits out on the counter and I love the way the glass bowl looks. Yes, it is heavier so I also purchased the 6 quart stainless bowl for “everyday” use. But gosh, that glass bowl looks so good on my counter and I’ve found myself using it more often — it is handy to be able to see what is happening at the bottom of the bowl. (Posted on 1/9/19)

Wonderful piece of kitchen hardware! Review by

These things rock! I purchased this particular model solely because it is the top dog according to Consumer Reports! This mixer is a beast. You can go buy a cheap mixer at Wal-Mart to "Save money and live better" but like all the appliances there, they are cheaply built for Wal-Mart and you'll actually end up spending more because they don't hold up and will not last. I chose Kitchenaid and EverythingKitchens because I work hard for my money and I want high quality that lasts. (Posted on 1/12/16)
